I found an M1 wifi+cellular, 12.9", still sealed and brand new on eBay for a steal, so I just bought it. I had an 11" during my first 3 uni years and sold it, but I'll be going back to the desk for a master's degree in September so I had to buy a new one. Honestly, I don't think the M3 coming out next week will be a huge deal. I feel like at the moment you could buy any iPad Pro with Apple silicon and be completely fine. The real upgrade will come in June and it's been 3-4 years in the making so I really hope they'll make it worth the wait.... What would really p*ss me off is what they did with hover (a software feature made exclusive to the new model) happening again with e.g. the new keyboard. I'm 99% sure the retro-compatibility will be there, but you never know
I saw those videos from Apple. They released back in 2019. They have over 5 videos all saying a new way to plan a wedding, make a video, start a podcast, start a business, make a video. Man it’s so fun to watch. Makes me want to use it more. It’s more modern than my M1 macbook Pro. The only thing holding this back is the Safari experience. Multiple tabs don’t go fuzzy when I go back and forth through tabs. Other than that I can use the giant 120hz screen to use AR for shopping furniture in walmart and other apps. And trying on sunglasses through AR and from camera. It’s the future of computing. And I just grab it and do everything on it. I love my iPad Pro. I was thinking about getting the studio display and getting ports for my mac and use it for desktop. But in this economy I ought to be content with what I have. Save your money. iPad OS support is amazing. More so than Mac.
A 12.9 IPad Pro feels more like holding a TV monitor than an actual tablet. 9’7 was the original IPad size in the Jobs era and 11 inches was pushing it to the edge. A tablet was meant to be held in one to two hands but more so with one hand. Anything more than 11 inches and you might as well be holding a two in one laptop.
Yeah I don’t see any real need to upgrade from M1 to M2 unless you really need the Pencil hover feature.. Think we’ll see some bigger changes with the M3! ✌🏻

Well here it is after the big release and all the hype about OLED Which, after using for a week I sent back to Apple after trying it indoors and outdoors. The difference was minuscule. Definitely not worth that huge price increase. I bought the iPad 12.9 with M2 processor, 256 GB for $900 at BJ’s and saved almost $1000 compared to the OLED Model. I also bought the Logitech touch keyboard case which has much better protection, and a bigger trackpad for $129 on Amazon 42% reduction from the normal $229. I would much rather have 4 speakers and 5 microphones 120 Hz and face unlock then OLED.👈👀🤷♂️
Durable vid, Jack! Looks like you push the M2 iPad Pro to its limits. Was 2T memory the max available? Tip: one is less apt to misplace the pen if it’s tethered to the iPad (fishing line or length of key chain)😂. I’ve been using Lumafusion on the M1 iPad Pro for light video editing. Does most of what your average creator might need. But I agree that the iPad is stil largely held back by software. This could be the ultimate Macbook Air if they would just let it run MacOS. I swear there is some prototype six floors underground in Apple Park that they have running MacOS. However, they seem so intent on locking the iPad into the mobile ecosystem. I feel like they could do so much better if they gave the iPad dual boot capability.
I don’t think it will have a major impact as it seems these chips were made with AI in mind, and now we’re getting those features. Once Apple Intelligence is in the betas we’ll have a better idea though! ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB yeah, i saw that the new ipad has just 2 extra CPU (10 core) while the GPU remains same for both the ipad. I bet it is just like 5-10% increase in performance since it is not much of a difference. Neural Intelligence remain same for both the model. I am thinking not to upgrade, i just got my ipad pro 12.9 inch 6th gen with magic keyboard unboxed at 900$ in Feb after selling my ipad Air 5. Looks like i wont lose much from the new ipad.

Im laughing bc i look at ipad content now, looking to update mine, which is from 2017 😂 and ppl on the internet have been switching theirs almost every year 😂 that said i wanna upgrade bc i want to go ahead with digital art and need a bigger screen than 9 inch 🤪 contemplaining if i should get m2 or m3? Yes still worth it. Even over the new m2 iPad Air. Unless you really want to go into more credit card debt to get the new pencil. Or more debt to get the m4 pro to “feel awesome” for a few weeks and then forget that your usage didn’t need the upgrade. If you push to their limits then yes. Otherwise. Save your money.
Still worth it in 2024? You realise some people, a lot of people in fact don’t have the money to upgrade their tech every time the latest model is released right? I didn’t watch the video as I am still using an M1 iPad Pro the only real problem with aging iPads is the battery and the with newer iPads and iPhones apparently Apple is making it more difficult to replace the battery I use iPads because of the abundance of music production and instrument software but I don’t need to run 50 tracks in Cubasis, for any serious computer power applications when I have the room I will build my own desktop PC rather than paying 6,000 AUD for a MacBook let alone an actual iMac, way overpriced.

@_xstarbutterfly The M2 Air has a standard display, unlike the M2 Pro which has mini LED for better contrast ratios + it has the 120hz refresh rate. But! The new M2 Air can be used with the new Apple Pencil Pro, the M2 Pro can’t! And it has a landscape front camera. So I guess it depends what matters more to you! ✌🏻

11 inch m2 is perfect for most people, and you can get one for under 1000aud depending on gigs.
