I have the M4 13inch iPad Pro and my wife has the M1 version. They are both fantastic especially my M4. The only problem we have with both of them is random freezes that fix themselves after a short period of time. I had no problems with my 2018 12.9 iPad Pro.
I purchased the M4 13 inch iPad Pro, Black, 512GB WiFi only. Plus the new Magic Keyboard and Pencil Pro. It cost me a touch over $2100.00. Indeed it is expensive and the price could easily be $500.00 less.. But this is my main device I use as my personal computer. It does everything I need and the Tandem OLED display is absolutely stunning. I’ve had mine for 8 months since its release last May. I absolutely love it. Nothing better for consuming content either. This tech is future proofed for at least 7 (if not more) years. If you can afford it, I’d highly recommend it..and if you consider you won’t need to upgrade this iPad for a LONG time, then high price is more justified..in my mind at least.
I have the m4 11 in and I love watching UA-cam on it. I am really enjoying the Magic Keyboard this time around. I had the first generation keyboard with the first iPad Pro 11 in and it did not hold up well. It is nice to see that they have improved it. Thank you for your videos. You provide very useful information.
I use my iPad 13 M1 just about everything, to the point where my MacBook Pro sits unused for weeks at a time. I’m a writer, photographer, Procreate artist, and retired. Selling my MacBook Pro in the later spring. So, iPads are worth it for me.
I use my iPad Pro M4 for basic browsing, social media, email, and office stuff, and it does all that well. But I use my Macbook when I am doing anything more intensive. Depending on how long it is on standby, I get about 8-12 hours of SOT. I found out that it is best to keep it on standby in a case with a cover as that will stop notifications popping up and turning the screen on--that took 33% battery off my usage.

I use my M4 11” iPad Pro with the Magic keyboard and the rubber strip around the keyboard on the trackpad side - mainly in the corners - has scratched my nano-textured screen… Not yet visible with eye, but my nail already catches in the groove.
I use my M4 11 inch for work mainly for service tickets emails. I like that it has an extremely bright screen. iPad M4 11 inch is my right arm. Does everything I need for work and play a little pricey on the cellular side but worth every penny to me that it makes my day easier at work
Here is the mic drop for people who say its not worth it… iPhone pro max is more expensive than the base 11 inch m4. I know different devices for different cases but in terms of pure hardware ipad pro offers way more than the iphone minus the camera. (one of the best displays on any device, way more powerful, ios on steroids, external display support and you can easily keep it for 5-6 years) in my eyes its worth it if you have the money
Exactly my thought before but I had to prioritize iPhone because I shot youtube videos using iPhone before. I had to think about the camera first before.
It’s my main device, and I use it with a 2014 Thunderbolt Display, and it’s a fun work from home setup. My only complaint, other than missing out on some photo editing software that’s Mac/Windows only, is that I have a weird bug (and a case in the Feedback app dating back to November with numerous instances and videos) where my mouse pointer vanishes while I’m using it and deteriorates to the point of being non-existent until I reboot the device. This is while using the Magic Keyboard. It’s really my only gripe and happens almost daily.
I upgraded to the 11” from the OG iPad Pro 10.5” that only gave me 1hr of drawing time on Affinity Designer 2. I delayed my purchase from the original release date to Black Friday. Nano texture (1Tb) is amazing and the Magic Keyboard and Pencil Pro are fantastic! However the keyboard is so heavy! LOL! I rarely use the iPad off of the keyboard when it’s sitting on my lap while drawing.
I love my M4 iPad Pro (1TB), I use it mostly for music making, definitely want to learn video editing on it also, it’s a great device to use and watch content on it, hope Apple catches up the software with the amazing hardware, love it, love it, love it
I got the M4 iPad Pro to replace the M1. (The battery life was waning) I chose the base model 11” with the Apple Pencil Pro and the new Magic Keyboard. I have always owned an iPad since the iPad second generation. It is my device of choice for just about everything. However, I do have a M2 MBA for work at the office
@@drew99957 the MacBook Air can do everything the iPad can and still be chill on the couch because of its small form factor plus its fan-les. and you get 18 hours of battery.
Display is incredible in this thing that OLED is unlike anything you have ever seen, imo it’s totally worth it just watching content alone especially movies that are well produced in terms of cinematography is chefs kiss for your eyes.
In my case, I never have a reason to upgrade to the M4 because my M1 works just fine. And even if the battery deteriorates, I can just have it replaced by a professional. The only time I'll ever upgrade is once the important apps on my M1 no longer support the final software version it can support (and by then a better iPad will likely be available).
I don't understand why people are trying to make their iPads back to be laptops or desktops adding all kinds of external devices to it?! Magic keyboard is actually removing all the magic of iPad itself because all the original magic of iPad is the pure iPad itself using your magic human fingers on the magic touchscreen! The only exception is the magic pencil of course which is the organic member of the iPad. Purist iPad user has spoken!😎
I have both the MacBook Pro and the M4 13” iPad and I must say, the iPad M4 Pro experience is phenomenal. As all previous generation I got the 11” version, but I opt for 13” on the M4 and I can tell you, with the extra real estate it’s hard to go back.
I’m very pleased with my M4 13 I use it every day, however I did sacrifice not getting the Magic Keyboard to cut down the price also I didn’t get cellular plus I traded my M1 iPad so that helped with the price a lot. As my main reason was to get the oled screen for my vision problem, it has helped that tremendously. The price is steep in my opinion with all the extras too. Thank you.
I’ve only had my iPad Pro 13 for about a month now. It’s my fourth iPad. I’m loving it. Great display. I use it mostly for watching content. I’m watching this very UA-cam video right now as I type this reply. 😊
2018 12.9 iPad Pro is the only iPad you need tbh. I had an 11inch m4 pro with LTE. Gave to my sister and there really wasn’t much I missed from it. Save the money
The PWM got me and I have never had issues with any device in the past. The way it does the flicker seems to be just ever so slightly different than say an iPhone. The 240 is slow and I think it has to do with the fact it is 2 displays stacked to make 1 visible display to you the viewer. This is all I can figure, the display is gorgeous if it does not hurt your eyes, and if it does there is no way around it.
I don’t like the white keyboard color, but it’s the only available color at our local Apple store. I found a black one on e-Bay, but considering shipping + import charges, I opted for the color available locally.
I appreciate your review. It’s pretty much my thoughts exactly the battery. I’m getting 5 to 6 hours and I play a game or two on it constantly. It is my main device but not for consumption, I do carry it with me wherever I go
I have the 11 inch M4 ipad pro, from release week. 100% battery health, and 62 cycles, I go through times of using it a lot, and then not so much depending on where life takes me at the given time, but I have nothing bad to say about this iPad, I love it, and I'm hoping to get a minimum of 8 years out of it. We'll see how that goes, although at the moment, I feel like it could easily do that
for a long time I was not impressed by iPad but this one with the best screen ever designed oled being so fine for me the only iPad that is worth the cost to buy
So I had a 2023 IPad Air but I had my eye on the M4 Pro just could not justify the cost of upgrade but bite the bullet with the Apple Black Friday deal with an 11” Base pro…and I love it also got the pencil and eventually the Magic Keyboard could not be happier, like many I never run my batteries down to 0% but I tend to get around two days using it as my main device which is fantastic. It supplements a MacBook Air and an IPhone but really works brilliantly, and it was not too painful price wise selling my IPad Air complete with case and 2nd gen pencil
I’ve had every major version the IPad Pro, and every version of the IPad since they first came out. The M4 IPad Pro is amazing, crazy battery life, great screen, very useful keyboard. I have a HP Laptop for work but I use this as my main computer as much as possible.
I bought a base 256GB 11” iPad Pro. I got it mainly to replace my M1 iPad Air as it was a 64GB model and even with managing it i was constantly running out of space. This is my first iPad Pro and while i really enjoy it, I don’t really use it much as i got a MacBook for Christmas, so this thing just mainly sits for weeks unused. I mainly use it with a coloring book app and a digital sketchpad. I did also get the Pencil which i do use regularly and the Magic Keyboard which i use less so. But i am very happy with it and glad to have it.
Have the iPad Pro 12.9” 5th Gen with the pencil and Magic Keyboard. Love it. Use it everyday. I really want a 15”/16” iPad Pro. If they ever announce it I’ll preorder it that day. It does everything I need it to do so there wasn’t a reason to upgrade.
Magic Keyboard ergonomics I have the same exact issue while tilting the screen it always fall back. One more thing, while connecting the charging cable to the KB is easy, disconnecting it is extremely annoying, as the the position of the USB-C really sucks.
How do you get so much battery? I use procreate, Callipeg and Nokad Sculpt mostly. 5 hours and it’s dead. And this has been the case with most iPads since the 2nd generation pro. Before that 10 hours was more regular.
Still using my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB. With pencil and Magic Keyboard, too freaking expensive to replace anytime soon, does everything any other iPad can do not the best not the worst
I’m still using a my 9th generation iPad. It’s not the fastest thing but still very impressive still considering how big everything is these days. I plan on upgrading to the M2 Air or whatever upgrade the air gets in the next few months at WWDC. Honestly the air is still more powerful than what I use my iPad for. Hopefully one day promotion will get added to it and it’ll make it the perfect iPad, but I don’t see that happening until 240Hz displays comes to mobile devices and Apple upgrades the pro iPads to that display tech.
I have the M4 Pro 13”. I use it to watch UA-cam and make music. There is quite an amazing iOS music making community. I also like to post photos from my iPad to Flickr as Flickr posts the camera used, which is my iPad.
I remember when they first launched iPad Air with the design of the Pro, the chip is A14 (forgot what year), and I was so eager to have one back then but I sold it after 3 months because I found myself only using it by watching Netflix and no real use case for me. DOnt get me worng, they are good, and Its nice to have one. Imo if you have real work to do on it like drawing etc, its worth it.
I don’t know why people have so much trouble with the Files app. I’ve had iPads since I preordered the very first one as soon as it was announced. This is my 5th one not counting the 2 Minis that I used to carry at work since we weren’t supposed to have electronic devices at work. It easily fit in the small backpack I carried. I like the Files app as I think it works very well for the machine. If they ever went to the Mac version i’d use that with no problems also. If they never do that’s fine too as it works good for me.
I’ve had all of the M series 12.9 inch models the first two of them M1 and M2. I am a blind person. I do accidentally sit on it every once in a while and by the time I’m ready to trade it in or pass it down to a family member That thing is tore all the way up this one so far so good fingers crossed
The iPad Pro is basically a glorified media consumption device. The more impressive the mostly unused CPU power, the more glaring the discrepancy between the "Pro" label and the actual worth. If you really want a tablet-shaped device to get work done with get a MS Surface.
I'd love to have the 13 inch ipad pro ( without the nano coating ! ), i was a bit sorry to see the wide camera go , i understand i lot of people may not use it , but some do. If ever you are out on a job that requires you to get certain details in a photograph before uploading them to your work , its much harder to check for that detail on a phone sized screen , but on a device like an ipad , it is easy and ideal for that. Big screens offer advantages particularly for photography. On the price , i agree , apple needs curb its enthusiasm for making a profit at all costs. As soon as you hit the options in the upgrade section , the device goes from being a premium priced item to being bloody expensive to the point for many people the ipad pro just will be unaffordable for most . Tech is more expensive here across the pond because our dollar is crap , but just for giggles I went to the apple site and soecced out an m4 ipad pro with magic keyboard and pencil , holy Bank balance batman , it was well over 5k ! , i can buy a brand new car for 30 odd k or about 6 specced up ipads😂😂😂😂.
I have my M1 Pro and it has ZERO issues at performance , this is nuts having an M4 you would never use its power or performance , WAY WAY Too EXPENSIVE NOW, Its a status symbol not a performance machine. Agree it needs to drop over 1200 dollars to even be considered now.
iPad m4 pro & m2 15inch air. Both battery exactly the same for my usage, 12hrs easily. Only good thing abt MacBook I can leave it on standby/sleep mode, and battery dips abt 5-10% max. Using my iPad Pro more often cos the oled is rly a killer. Ofcos if I play games on iPad definitely will dip faster than a laptop. Needless to say..
Suggest some games that I can play on the M4 iPad Pro! I love it and is my go-to travel companion other than notes and I even manage my servers using my iPad.
Got mine on release as well, don't have the nano texture but still loving it. Good for me but probably not for Apple I can't see needing a different iPad for a very long time! It's not my primary device, my M3 MBP is primary then I have an M2 mini for Audio work.
I just purchased the iPad Pro M4 model back in July of last year. I really like my iPad Pro M4 model. I do believe you are right on some of the issues like the Files app and being able to transfer files from it to other devices. I don’t use the camera either. I’m mainly use mine as an extra TV to watch sports and surf the web with cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available or while traveling. I also went with the model without nano texture display. I have a huge iTunes collection so I needed the space to download everything. Thankfully, I still have plenty of room to add to it and update my device. It just took a week to download everything over our slow satellite connectivity. Satellite based Internet is not quite as fast as fiber-optic. I definitely would recommend this device! I really like the Apple Pencil.
I do purchase it ~ day 1 with Apple Magic Keyboard as Note book mode. As I said that I am using it as notebook mode. I found out that iPadOS ... different with MacOS ... especially with Apple Magic Keyboard. I am using different languages input ... and found out that when I push "caps lock" ... would like to use default language !!! but it fail actions as MacOS.
And that price came down lol. Mine was $2600 without a keyboard or a pencil :( I only use the iPad, and I agree that it is incredibly nerfed for its price point and compute power. If I didn’t need a mobile computer for work, this would not make sense compared to a MacBook
I would love to upgrade my iPad Pro 10.5 but I just can’t do it right now n I don’t think I could do the m4 iPad Pro maybe m3 would be better when I can afford to upgrade ❤😊
Aaron can u do a video about 13 pro Max and some features about it My friend he’s keep asking me about it I don’t really that much can u please do. Thanks I really enjoys u video 😊❤
At 11:27 I thought one of the camera lenses had disappeared lol (I know it was just a reflection thing, and I know the iPad Pro now only has 1 camera) xD
I love using this device to watch TV while cooking and eating. Bought the Magic Keyboard to double as a stand and laptop replacement; I just feel ripped off overall. Great screen and speakers but ultimately not much my 16PM can’t do than this thing. And that upper hand lies mostly in the hardware differential. As a person coming back to iPhones/iPads, I find the software very limiting. At this point I just think people are buying iPhones/iPads and bragging about them by default and have been in the eco system so long they don’t have a point of reference. I’m only sticking with Apple due to their integrity with privacy. At least compared to the comp. Software wise, they’re quickly becoming outdated.
*M4 iPad Pro is absolutely NOT worth the cost.* Not even close. And that's coming from someone with every Apple device, and maxed out MBPs. iPad Pro's value is not there. This year is a hard PASS for most if not everyone. Apple needs to cut the prices on them by AT LEAST 50% to make them even remotely worth it,. Every iPad I've ever bought just sits and collects dust eventually. MacBook Pro > iPad every time. If you have a Mac laptop, you don't need an iPad. It's just a big iPhone.
I agree with MB > iPad. However, I keep my iPad for as long as it lasts, and my M1 is going strong after 3.5 years. So, I know it is expensive, but over ten years, it will still be relevant at the end of that life. So, people like you do not understand that outside the tech bubble, people keep their iPads for years- my parents have 7- and 9-year-old iPads! Once you change your mindset away from being a techie geek who worries about yearly upgrades, you will understand why Apple has sold 800 million iPads and is still counting.
@ I keep all my devices. Just retired an iPad 2 from over 10 years ago. I definitely know how normal people use their devices. The M4 Pro value proposition is not there. Even if kept for 10 years that’s nearly 200 dollars per year if you break it up. And in 10 years it’ll be way obsolete anyway given the way things are going. Probably 5-7 years. Not worth it. Priced out of the market. Hopefully the horrendous pricing bites Apple and they learn a lesson. I know they’re not selling nearly as many as they used to so that’s a sign.
@Slimothy, I got the base iPad Pro M4 11-inch for £800. Over ten years that is £80 a year, so I have no idea where you get your $200 a year. Stop using the top skew to make a point. Find the lowest price. I got £200 off on an Amazon sale.
@Slimothy, I now have two devices. I still have my M1 13-inch, but I realised it was too large, so I bought the OLED 11-inch, which I use outside as it is more portable.
I’m glad you like it but hardly anyone is buying it. Apple’s sales on this device is so bad the factory that makes it switch over to making iPhone because of slow sales. I think Apple has finally hit a brick wall on pricing and it’s to expensive. I can afford to buy anything i want but Best Buy gave me $420 dollars for my over three year old iPad so i got a new Apple Air for around $100. I thought that was a good deal because i never use the camera.
I have the M4 13inch iPad Pro and my wife has the M1 version. They are both fantastic especially my M4. The only problem we have with both of them is random freezes that fix themselves after a short period of time. I had no problems with my 2018 12.9 iPad Pro.

How do you get so much battery? I use procreate, Callipeg and Nokad Sculpt mostly. 5 hours and it’s dead. And this has been the case with most iPads since the 2nd generation pro. Before that 10 hours was more regular.
@ I did it by disabling a lot of useless tracking functionalitiess
Absolutely worth the investment for me! Love my 13"
Still using my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB. With pencil and Magic Keyboard, too freaking expensive to replace anytime soon, does everything any other iPad can do not the best not the worst
Given the Air being available in the same sizes, is the pro, especially the 13” worth the additional cost for most people over the 13” Air?
For most people? Definitely no. iPad is a device you need a use case for.
I love my M4 iPad Pro 13 inch along with my Apple Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro. 🙂
I like mine… but only bought it when my old iPad broke.
I use this enough to more than justify it. Likely more than a phone.
Don't you think the backlight feature consumes more battery
It’s a blown up iPhone, traded mine in, waste of money
Same I recently got a nick in mine the corners do not hold up well. 😢😢
The iPad Pro is basically a glorified media consumption device. The more impressive the mostly unused CPU power, the more glaring the discrepancy between the "Pro" label and the actual worth. If you really want a tablet-shaped device to get work done with get a MS Surface.
I’m thinking to upgrade my iPad Pro 11 inch 2018 for the iPad Pro 11 inch M2 next month
Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your day.
I just got the MacBook Pro m4 and iPad Pro m4 and I use my iPad Pro more.
Aaron, what icon can i add to the control center to adjust backlit on the Magic Keyboard?
Why can’t i check the battery health on my ipad pro ??? I’m missing this function.
IPadOS: Settings / Battery / Battery Health
@ Nope, battery health is not in my menu? How can?
I upgraded my M4 11-inch iPad Pro to the 13-inch last month. It’s now my primary device… See ya MacBook!
by far my favourite apple device for my needs…to the point that i rarely use my macbook pro! ticks all the boxes maybe not for everyone though
Great review. Can you post a link for your watchband?
I have my M1 Pro and it has ZERO issues at performance , this is nuts having an M4 you would never use its power or performance , WAY WAY Too EXPENSIVE NOW, Its a status symbol not a performance machine. Agree it needs to drop over 1200 dollars to even be considered now.
Where do u get the wallpaper? Its amazing
What WiFi router do you use? Thinking of getting a new one, but not sure which brand to get.
Eero 7 for now
Love ipad until i actually want to do something work related then the os rapidly lets the side down … great hardware , poor software
iPad m4 pro & m2 15inch air.
Great video Aaron ❤😊
Love mine and use it for the majority of tasks that I do.
Mine was $2600 without a keyboard or a pencil :(
I only use the iPad, and I agree that it is incredibly nerfed for its price point and compute power.
It’s a great device but cost prohibitive.
Great video Aaron 😊
🤔I’m at 97% and 133 cycles, is this good/normal? Thanks
Yes, because I’m at 99% with only 37 cycles.
Loving so much my 13". Mini true OLED TV. My only disappointment: 8gb RAM on base model...
How do you have a SIM card slot?
You have to get the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
@ I only have eSIM
Aaron can u do a video about 13 pro
Max and some features about it
My friend he’s keep asking me about it I don’t really that much can u please do. Thanks I really enjoys u video 😊❤
I LOVE MY M4. The BEST Apple has ever made. Always have to complain about something when it comes to Apple !!!
At 11:27 I thought one of the camera lenses had disappeared lol (I know it was just a reflection thing, and I know the iPad Pro now only has 1 camera) xD
thanks for the review
The Magic Keyboard tipping is a deal breaker. It would tank my workflow.
@ Bargain bin iPad Pro 🤣 should have just gotten the Air at that point
Why is his iPads microphone on
Even the MacBook are so expensive too 😮
What wallpaper is that, I need it haha
I also love my iPad M4 11 inch
I’m glad you like it but hardly anyone is buying it. Apple’s sales on this device is so bad the factory that makes it switch over to making iPhone because of slow sales. I think Apple has finally hit a brick wall on pricing and it’s to expensive. I can afford to buy anything i want but Best Buy gave me $420 dollars for my over three year old iPad so i got a new Apple Air for around $100. I thought that was a good deal because i never use the camera.
I love using mine for UA-cam 😅
I just have a MacBook Air 2015 11 inch
My 13-inch M4 has 99% battery health @ 37 cycles.
Still on my 11 inch M1 iPad Pro 🙂↕️
