953 refers to the structure of the fast riffy part near the end. There are 9 bars of the same riff, then it switches up for a bar, then it's 5, switch it up, then 3, then they switch it up again before slowing it down. It's such a nerdy song title.
It sounds like a title id use when I'm working on a song with my band but need a filler title just to be able to identify it in practice. It would make sense, since when they played their kexp they didnt have titles for any of their songs
That reaction to bmbmbm... If there was any way of having my first reaction personified, that'd be it, the ending to that track blew my mind on first listen.
i need to see them as soon as possible. i have watched some videos of them performing live and it’s insane and i think i will find a new part of myself at one of their shows.
I think humans are at a point where we've exhausted so many sounds and styles in music and if you wish to experience something new, it's going to be weird at first. I was totally WT Fing at first, but now I'm totally blown away by the boys of Black Midi.
When he’s talking about transitions and stuff and I’m just looking at the Of Schlagenheim and the Bmbmbm transition Title track is my favorite on it lol
trust me, this was exactly how I reacted to this album the first time, second time pulled me in even more, now I actually can’t stop listening and it’s my favourite album of all time. I trust that this will happen to brad soon.
Saw them live when they came to LA, absolutely bonkers dude the energy was unlike anything I'd felt live so goddamn fun. They even brought up the kid from dad reacts to drum on the last song! Legendary
@@ahhhhyes Hooking up with a girl who's known for having many relationships and quickly breaking up again and then being surprised and sad that she left you for a guy with a car has strong simp energy
ironic speling Wel yeah but the song is about how he wants her back and stuff, that’s kinda the definition of simping, going for someone who’s way out of your league and you’ll never have a chance with but still wanting them.
I saw black midi live back in February and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Hearing these songs live in a packed club was legitimately mind bending, I’d implore anyone who gets a chance to see them in the future to take that chance because they’re one of the best live bands around
Oh def is an album that needs more listens, first time i enjoy some few songs and thought it was really messy, then i gave it more listens and the mess was captivating me more and more until it became one of my top 5 2019 albums.
Okay, this is epic. I think a Nick Cave - Skeleton Tree or - Ghosteen review would be awesome as they are two of the most touching albums I’ve ever listened to. (not only the music but he wrote it because of the death of his son who fell off a cliff in Brighton... really tragic and heavy stuff...)
I still come back to this all the time just for the bmbmbm reaction, still makes me smile so much seeing you react exactly how I felt hearing it for the first time
Yes I’m so happy! Thank You for listening to this! My interpretation of this album is that it kinda takes place in a depressing futuristic society and the narrator is slowly losing his mind. Especially towards the end of the album, hence the repetitive ranting in the last 3 tracks.
Weird stuff, I like my melodies so this was an interesting journey to say the least, the most I enjoyed from this was actually the drummers performance, felt really alive throughout
It took me a few listens to enjoy. I honestly hated it at first but it is now one of my favorite albums ever. Never not in the mood for bmbmbm, years ago, and near DT, MI
Yo my dude Brad attack plz react to Human Performance or Wide Awake by Parquet Courts. I just clocked u look like roderick from diary of a wimpy kid. That’s the best compliment I’ve ever given someone

Could you please do album reviews of The 1975's albums? They're coming out with their fourth record May 22nd and it would be cool to see your reaction to their albums up to that (The 1975, I Like It When You Sleep.., A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships). I would also love a reaction to their fourth record (Notes On A Conditional Form) when it comes out :) Much love dude! Keep up the great work!
Hey Bradley! Glad to see you smiling a little and having some fun. Wanted to ask about how your roommate feels about you reacting to loud music in the other room bc damn you’re lucky to find someone who won’t be bothered when you record
I think Brad would really dig Jokes by Kidcrash. Somewhat similar to this but much more focused and epic. I honestly think Kidcrash is one of the most underrated bands of all time, they should be legends I think. It'd be cool if Brad gave those dudes some exposure.
Roommate: coughs
Brad: *gets annoyed*
Also Brad: fucking BLASTS black midi at the highest volume

Your reaction to bmbmbm is fucking iconic.
Ayo Brad, you should hear Spiderland.
I agree
YES.
Absolutely, such a classic and influential masterpiece.

He's definitely heard it before but I hope he does a review instead of a reaction

this album is a 10 for me, and it genuinely took me so long to figure that out. Near DT, MI is one of the most frantic tracks ive ever heard.
