    Alan Moore believing he met John Constantine IRL has got to be one of the most wild things in comics to think about.

  • @TheDukeofMadness
    @TheDukeofMadness Рік тому +2

    The Alan Moore meeting John Constantine lookalike is plausible, as long as he was at a Billy Idol concert.

    The Savage Dragon also ages in real time, main character now is actually the son of the original. Great video!!

    In Savage Dragon nearly everyone ages in real time and it's been going for over 30 years.

    Cool vid!! Neil Tennant was actually the London Editor at Marvel UK, for a couple of years. He was the Editor when Captain Britain 1 was published over here!

    I would love to see a DC Black Label title where Batman goes super meta and tracks down the guy that cheated in the Jason Todd vote.

    The Punisher was supposed to age in real time as well. He was always supposed to stay a Vietnam Vet, but I think marvel put a kibosh on that when they went all ridiculous on him changing his emblem and all that for no reason.

    • @sethchapman8001
      @sethchapman8001 Рік тому +4

      I thought they changed the emblem to distance themselves from the militant groups that have adopted the original emblem. Maybe I am wrong, but it makes sense that Marvel wouldn't want to be associated with some groups.

      I’m not saying that you’re incorrect, but how could they have the Punisher age in real time if he exists in the Marvel 616 universe’s sliding timeline? How would that hold up when he interacts with the other characters in the 616?

    There could be a whole video about Alan Moore facts.
    If there was a Michael Jackson Spider-Man movie in the 90's that could have changed the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    Nearly all these facts are new to me also and I've been reading comics since 1971. Great work assembling them James.
    Wally Wood did do Mature Readers comics but his CV is so broad, from his wonderful EC work to his self-published superhero and non-superhero series. Wood remains one of the creative pillars of this hobby.
    James, I can never unsee that Stan Lee photo. Also, I'd like to point out that he's holding a Treasury Edition to cover his nether regions - not a standard comic but a Treasury Edition. He's really boasting there.
    Specifically, it was Garth Ennis and John McCrea who created Dog Welder, a member of the team Section Eight which originally appeared in their often tongue-in-cheek series Hitman. And the other members of Section Eight are just as whacky and politically incorrect. Loved that series.
    I'm off to check my copy of New X-Men #118 for the other 17 hidden messages; thanks Ethan, this should be fun.

    Great list, but Judge Dredd characters also age in real time too :)
    Old Stoney Face (and Anderson and others) is 46ish years older then their first appearances.
    One of the things I love about Dredd is the GLACIAL character development, it's like watching a real person change over time

    Speaking of Plastic Man, I just watched your video about your top 10 Batman comics and you left it asking what was one we liked. I submit to you, Justice League of America #65 “The Dark Nut Strikes Again”. Ok, so it’s not exactly a Batman comic but it is a Batman/ Plastic Man story and a darn good one. This is also the issue were we are introduced to Plastic Man’s son. Have you given it a read?

    Before you even got to number 2 I call probable bullshit. Skeezix in Gasoline Alley, though technically a Sunday Strip, set the precedent for real time ageing and even with your semantics, I believe the Constantine claim is on very, very shakey ground, considering a number of factors, including Constantine jumping from Vertigo continuity to DCU continuity. I do wonder why Vertigo fans don't continuously clown and harass JK Rolling fans and why Gaiman doesn't sue her. I don't hate her. If the Woke AND Christians hate her then she is wonderful, but Gaiman has a case🤣
