This video was an experiment in some ways. I normally try to hide as many individual clicks as I can, while still showing how the build comes together. There wasn't a great way to do that with this build other than skip 'clicks' in the process, so I decided to include every necessary click. I built a lego circle inspired by you, only using 2 by 1 bricks, 2 by 2 bricks ,2x4 bricks and the bending teciches, It took a Lot of them to complete, great Channel!
For quite some time, probably half way through, I was expecting it to be flexible like that. Every piece added seemed to be flexible, so why not right? Then you spent like 3 minutes adding "support beems", and I just threw that thought out the window. And theeeen.... *mind blown*

This is actually a good 2D representation of how hardened Steel works (martensite). The lattice of austenitic steel (face centered cubic) is forced into distorted twins during rapid cooling. The inner tension wants to get to the body centered cubic structure but can't transform and therefore it is harder.

Cool design but I feel that some of the footage could have been sped up a bit, especially when laying down the individual pieces after the foundation was complete.

So sad you rarely find any Lego building videos without anoying scratching, rattling, wispering, bag opening... I love your channel because of this. Even some "falling over" crashes at the end are sometimes very unsatisfying 🙈
Imagine building this as an OCD, thinking you have just enough black pieces, but in the end you are short by 2. You dig through your collection, but cant find the black one, there you find a yellow and a pink one. What would you do? 1. Use the different color one in the mostly black build, while the different color is screaming at you; or 2. Order it online, while the build is sitting there, unfinished, as if mocking your inadequate collection; or 3. Disassemble the mostly finish build.
Since I have a lot of builds I can steal bricks from them in ways that you can't really see from a distance. I have encountered this problem MANY times. 😂
How do you come up with these ideas? My mind is blown! LEGO must be doing well when you release these videos, as people will try to buy these LEGO pieces & try this construct for themselves. Where do you go and get all the pieces required to build this?
Thank you! lego.com is the most convenient, but the most expensive by far. bricklink.com has a lot of options, less expensive, but it's tricky to get all the bricks you need from one reseller at a good price, and each reseller has their own shipping costs. If you have a local LEGO store, their pick-a-brick wall is the cheapest option, but brick selection is very limited. I keep my eyes on all three. 😁
That's an AMAZING life scale lattice! You could totally use it for making a portion of interior wall ina house or office. Cut a hole any size or shape and build one of these to fit. Or it could make interesting ceiling inside a MOC building. Really cool.
This is true ASMR for the Lego lovers, Ive done very similar projects myself, if you want it to perform a technical function, like spanning a gap or something, then technic can make a more solid durable connection
I figured it out, once he had the first layer. well done. would make an interesting coffee table centerpiece, especially if it was below a layer of glass.
One neat thing I found a little while ago is you can connect six 4x4 squares by their corners into a hexagon, then connect the outer edges with 1x4 beams to turn it into a rigid, regular dodecagon.

I used to make that exact pattern as a kid, but I didn't have nearly enough pieces (let alone the same color) to go that far. This was very cathartic.

Theres reference material out there for transferring specific movements to others through levers on a 2d plane. Historically quite useful

Fair. I debated that, but decided to go for a longer video as an experiment. Speeding it up would definitely make it easier to produce.

There's a part of lego's website when you can by "brick by the bucket" or a lot of one specifc piece and color. I wouldnt be surprised if he did that
