“The sun is fast falling beneath trees of stone The light in the tower no longer my home Past eyes of pale fire, black sand for my bed I trade all I’ve known for the unknown ahead Call to me, call to me lands far away For I must now wander this wandering day Away I must wander this wandering day Of drink I have little and food I have less My strength tells me no, but the path demands yes My legs are so short and the way is so long I’ve no rest nor comfort, no comfort but song Sing to me, sing to me lands far away Oh rise up and guide me this wandering day Please promise to find me this wandering day At last comes their answer, through cold and through frost That not all who wonder or wander are lost No matter the sorrow, no matter the cost That not all who wonder or wander are lost” For those looking for lyrics to sing along.
@@Awakeandalive1 oh no, what a shame it is to use Tolkien's lyrics in.. a show based off of Tolkien's works? Obviously they'd use them mate, it's quite literally a song about the stories.
"Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun." - JRR Tolkien
Two equally wonderful voices gave me goosebumps. Beautifully arranged and perfectly executed. This is one just makes me so happy. Thank you Colm and Jax.
Colm the Bard and Jax the Bard, i believe my week and weekend are looking really promising right now! Get on board the Colmpany and forget the rest for a while.
This song is so calm and relaxing, but it has enough power to banish the dark clouds and get rid me of a bad mood. Thank you for your creativity, you have amazing voices!
Haven't watched the show. Haven't heard the original. And I can say that about quite a few of the songs Colm does covers of. But I like Colms voice and style. So I'm actually really looking forward to this just like all his other ones. Edit: I finally got to listen to it. And it's amazing like always. I can't stop playing the part between 0:30 - 0:38. Whatever you both did with your voices is incredible!
My tears are flowing 😭 yet I press replay over and over again. In whatever heaven Tolkien and his beloved resides I hope they can hear you, your song captures everything that is so beautiful about the magical world they built.
i have LITERAL CHILLS. I have had this song stuck in my head since they released the soundtrack and it's addictive. I loved the show but i loved the soundtrack even more.
I just discovered Colm last week because of the cover of Corb Lund's I Want to Be in the Cavalry. I discovered Jax the Bard yesterday after listening to Colm's, The Star of the County Down. I thought, hey, good idea if Colm and Jax did a duet...and now here it is. I've been around folk music for over 55 years and you two are phenomenal. Greetings from "Mayberry," North Carolina.
When I first heard this song I thought for myself.... Hmm,yes Colm would definitely nail this song.🤔 And FINALLY IT'S HERE!😍 And it's a DUET...AMAZING🤩
Always a surprise!!!! Colm never fails to either rework a song or with his voice to blast it out of the universe. Really love this mix of voices. Overall its a little smoother flow but adding the beautiful flowing female voice makes colms voice sound so much richer while keeping the female part light.
All of your songs are fantastic and everytime i think now you're at your peak you upload another one...Keep it up Colm! Next time I'm in Ireland I have to hear you live!
@@Crystar500 I didn't expect action in every episode. There are huge stretches in the PJ trilogy that were slower paced, and I was fine with that. I expected Tolkien. Instead we got... whatever this was. I honestly wish they'd just made their own series, or used a different setting. It honestly might have made it watchable.
@@dan1273 I watched the entire thing knowing pretty much nothing of the source material, and while it was far, far from fantastic, I had a good time. But after reading into the lore... The series is barely even remotely connected to the source material it's named after. Honestly it can only be described as an insult to Tolkien when it comes to the story. However, I will partly defend the series visually, it's one of the very, very few series that got the forging scenes accurate to real life, and while I understand not everyone will like them, I thought the new wargs and orcs looked pretty good. The scenes with Galadriel fighting however.... If I could I'd erase them from my memory. Overall I think I'd give the series a 5/10 if you don't know the story, but if you are familiar, then it's an instant 1/10, its only redeemable qualities being some visual aspects.
@@Tychohuybers I'd have to agree with that summary. I really do wish it had been good. They seem to think Tolkien fans wanted it to fail, when in reality we wanted it to be good so damn bad. If it had been it's own fantasy IP, like you said it would have been okay.
I doubt you will see this, but it's glad to see you doing so well. I remember I told a guy off for cling you fake a really long time ago, when you were a small enough creator that you made a tiktok about it and answered my comments more than once. I don't know you personally, but I'm proud of you and how far you've come ❣️
Heck yeah; as soon as I heard this song in the show I was like "Colm McGuinness cover when?" Fantastic job as always, can't wait for whatever you've got next!
So sad I missed the premiere on this! Your voice is so incredibly beautiful, and the harmony you achieved with Jax is ethereal. A handsome song, sung by handsome people. ♥
Just Absolutely outstandingl was hoping he would sing this tune when I heard the song on the tv show . One for tonight on repeat when I'm having a Guinness
Everything I read everywhere is saying how terrible Rings of Power was/is - but it's the first fantasy show in a while that fully transported me into a *world*. Not a story in a world, although that was there, but bringing the entire world to life The friendship between Durin and Elrond was beautifully written, and I *believed* the role of Galadriel. A hard role to live up to, but she did it well.
She was the complete opposite of the actual Galadriel. She was supposed to be the mightiest and fairest of all the Elves that remained in Middle-earth and able to see into ppls hearts. Instead we got an unstable teenager that couldn't even notice Sauron when he stood next to her.
Dude has a mad crazy range, I love watching his vid’s. It’s great watching an Irish man since sounds from his heritage. I hope I’m correct in saying that. Either man man can fucking sing!
“The sun is fast falling beneath trees of stone
The light in the tower no longer my home
Past eyes of pale fire, black sand for my bed
I trade all I’ve known for the unknown ahead
Call to me, call to me lands far away
For I must now wander this wandering day
Away I must wander this wandering day
Of drink I have little and food I have less
My strength tells me no, but the path demands yes
My legs are so short and the way is so long
I’ve no rest nor comfort, no comfort but song
Sing to me, sing to me lands far away
Oh rise up and guide me this wandering day
Please promise to find me this wandering day
At last comes their answer, through cold and through frost
That not all who wonder or wander are lost
No matter the sorrow, no matter the cost
That not all who wonder or wander are lost”
For those looking for lyrics to sing along.
Shame they tried to rip off Tolkien's actual lyrics. Gotta get those 'Memberberries in!
Thank you ❤️😊
🙏❤🤗
Thanks!✨

Love these lyrics and how well they could fit to Frodo and Sam's journey many hundreds of years later.
Almost as if that was intentional, because the only thing the show had going for it was our love of the trilogy...
That is because its a parody of the songs that Tolkien wrote himself.
As an Irishman who has been living far from home for almost a decade this moved me to tears 😭

infinitely better than the empty lyrics of this one (beautifully arranged and really masterfully sung by Colm and Jax
I was gonna say that’s my favourite Tolkien poem, but that’s not true... I love them all so much I can’t really choose just one lol.
"Not all those who wander are lost"
unless you're Thorin Oakenshield
He lost his way.

So excited!!🎉❤
Love the range of your voice! Your cover of Ashes is stunning, and this collab is going to be a joy.
Love Jax's voice on this SO MUCH!!!!! Perfect person to have on this. :D

Wonderful, now I would like to hear a Colm-Version of "Old Tom Bombadil"

How beautiful is this. Goose bumps.

This is great! But for real we need another Old Norse song with DEEP tones like "My mother told me". I absolutely LOVE that song🔥🔥🔥💯

Always love your music glad I could make it to the premiere this time aswell
Best cover of this song I've heard. 😱♥️
My life will be incomplete until I k ow the number of sweaters you own
A lovely cover thank you Colm and Jax. there are some beautiful harmonies, and it reminds me of an old folk song sung around the fire. Well done!
The harmony is beautiful. More collabs please!

Beautiful!! Please do more duets like this.
man oh man listening to him I get shivers constantly....WOW
