  • Keeping your home clean is not an easy task. Kids running around dropping things. Teenagers eating with no plate. Excitement over sport and the snacks go flying. Life is messy. And busy. And we often don’t have the time to get on our hands and knees to clean our homes. I am sure by now you have heard about Robot Vacuums. They go around our homes, on their own, and pick up after us. Just like a good robot should. Xiaomi, who is no stranger to Smart Appliances for the home, have a range of Smart Vacuum Robots to keep your home (or office) clean. We have been sent the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ by Xiaomi South Africa to see what the fuss is all about. Let’s get into it!

3 month later after release of this video(its hard to find english review of this specific model),I have few questions if you don't mind:
    1) are you still using it?
    2) what do you think of the performance after 3 month of use?
    3) can the water tank fill with mop liquid mix with water or it'll damage the vacuum? (need the floor smell nice as well)

      @@ThatCapeTownGuy 2) ?

    • @dooxietoto
      @dooxietoto Місяць тому +3

      1) I have it for 2 months now and I use it pretty much every single day. It does the job. I have two dogs in the house (hence the everyday use) and I use it only on hard floor (laminate and tiles), no carpets. The fact that it's vacuuming AND mopping gives a pretty good result. Only thing is that my laminate floors are "cherry" color and the mop pads leave marks on it, which actually is not nice to see, while on tile you see nothing.
      2) the performance is the same as the first day. It does the job well and the LIDAR is very clever and precise. Even if I move things around, if there is a way to go through, it will go. It does not rely on the mapping alone.
      3) It's mentioned on the tank that you should NOT use any detergents. I guess that after a while it will probably block the tiny holes the water goes through. Since you have to wet the mops every time before use, try to soak them in water with detergent and rinse them. This way you don't risk to block the tubes.

      I had three S10+.
The first was capable of doing different floors, and yes, if the floor exceeds the battery capacity, you have to move the dock or put the robot a second time to the other floor - or buy an additional dock. But the 2nd and 3rd s10+. were not capable of doing multible floors. Instead they crash their maps, so even cleaning by timetable was not possible anymore. Same thing happyend, if there were bigger changings in the first floor map, like a open door to a bigger closet. 😖 No support by xiaomi.

The current firmware of the S10+ (4.3.3_1305) is not able to manage multiple cards. If a different environment than the first map is detected, the device tries to create a second map and thus overwrites the first map.
Consequence: No time-controlled cleaning without a card. A replacement device has the same error.
i.e. It is actually only possible to clean one floor. Simply attempting to clean a second one results in data loss and a complete reinstallation. I don't know if Dreame's S10 clones are also affected by this. I now have the third S10+ within 4 months and despite several requests there is no support from Xiaomi support.

If it worked at the moment, you would only have to move the dock if the battery capacity is not enough for the whole floor. My first S10+ could save both, an additional map with or without the dock. The devices after that crashed in both scenarios. Even if the door to a storage room that was not yet present in the saved map was open, ALL maps were then junk.

My Xiaomi S10 is not working. I can't get anything done with maps. Everytime I want to do something with maps or restricted walls nothing happens except that the app says "Poor Connection try again later". After two days I went to exchange it for another Xiaomi S10 but it does exactly the same thing. All that works correctly is "Docking" and "Start Cleaning". When pushing "Start Cleaning" it tries to clean the whole house until the battery runs out halfway through and then docks to recharge. After it's fully charged and you take it off pause it just starts cleaning from the beginning again and never gets to the rest of the house. This Xiaomi S10 vacuum cleaner is useless. It seems as if the app is not compatible with the vacuum cleaner. I see everywhere on the internet that clients are not getting their Xiaomi vacuum cleaners connected to their Wi-Fi. The booklet you get with it has no information on how to work the app. There is also nowhere in South Africa to call or email for support or guidance. Would not recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone.

Cannot get the wifi network connected. Pure waste of app.

I think the problem is your side. Try see if you are connecting to a 2G or 5G network.

@@ThatCapeTownGuy thanks! Indeed that was one of the issues. it says to connect to the vacuum wifi itself, which I did, and after to switch back to my wifi network. It somehow did the trick after fumbling for 1 hour. maybe something they should re-think as it's really not intuitive/ user friendly.
