It's a long one.... Here are my thoughts after using this "makeup base" on and off for the past 6 months. I have very specific wants and needs from a base/foundation that is not likely shared with many. So I'm coming from that perspective only. In short, it's great my my needs but expensive. Would I recommend it to others, not generally unless they specified their needs were similar to mine. I understand how problematic the marketing is with it. I don't understand why some brands make things difficult for themselves - unless they wanted this drama. But it would have worked out better for them and everyone if they had called it was it is - not a primer (it doesn't sit well under regular foundation), not a foundation (there is no coverage for which foundation is known), but a clear base for makeup that allows powders to be applied without blotchiness. Reviewers have called it a primer but which primer is its closest match? I've tried a lot of primers on their own and they never smooth out enough that blush powder goes on without blotchiness. First, I understand that for most people foundation means coverage, but I've always preferred any sheer foundation that I could use as a base, leaving my skin tone showing. (I've been wearing makeup since my teens - 40 years ago.) So I looked at this clear foundation as a simple base on which my other makeup (not foundation) could sit nicely. (I have used a bit of concealer with it and that works out well too. Just a bit.) I like it. At first it was just a like but I didn't think I'd buy it again because it's $50 CAD. Now I like it enough that I would consider buying it again if I can't find a less expensive option. :) I have clear skin most of the time (some pigmentation and a blemish now and again but I don't like heavy coverage of blemishes anyway) and I don't want my face to be a flat canvas onto which I rebuild my face most of the time (though I love the look on others and watching others do that), so I generally reject foundation with coverage. Hence, I risked $50 and tried this. I've worn it without makeup, just to mattify my sunscreen (for which it works great on me), and with makeup. It didn't take 5 minutes to dry on me. It took about a minute after which I sometimes add a bit more to my nose and cheeks beside my nose. I rub it in between my fingers first to spread it (it sort of liquifies) and then put it on the face. I always brush my teeth as a break between the last spreadable thing on my face and powder. I don't know if a break is needed but when I come back to do my powder blush and other makeup, it goes on beautifully. Perhaps because I've had such bad luck in the past with foundations, BB creams, and primers, and had low expectations of the product due to my natural skepticism, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this product worked for my very specific wants of being able to put blush and bronzer on what looks like my own skin without any of the common issues that arise when putting blush directly on the skin - mostly uneven or blotchy outcomes. I have dry skin but this does not seem to dehydrate me despite the lack of occlusive. But... what percentage of makeup users have my specific wants for foundation? I suspect VERY FEW. And even if it were enough to inspire a product like this, the marketing should have been clear (no pun intended) about it. I would have bought it without hesitation if it were called a base for makeup without the drama of the frustration from those wanting more from it. Given the bad publicity and reviews, it's less likely the people who would enjoy it will end up trying it. Especially for the price. If it goes on clearance, I'd buy a few. :)
I actually understand this. I don't have any spots or acne, etc but occasionally wear powder to soak up oils. I would prefer to wear a foundation but don't need coverage, and it's nice not to think about shade matching.
For someone like me who does not have any blemishes or oily T-zone this is worth trying. I have never liked pigmented foundation as I prefer the natural look. I'm my late 50"s and my skin is not as smooth. Thanks for reviewing this product. In my opinion your skin looks so beautiful and natural. I wonder how it would hold up under exercise or a hot humid day. TFS

It actually looks pretty nice- I know for me, in summer I don’t like to have a lot of foundation on, because the heat and humidity gets me super sweaty and it feels like I’m melting 😂. I don’t have pimples or redness, so something that’s no pigment but still blurring like this is right up my alley. Thanks for reviewing this!
I think this product is about having a more natural look instead of heavy coloration. You look pretty without makeup. Thank you for trying out these products and filling our curiosity.
I honestly saw a difference. It seemed like it evened out you’re skin tone very nicely. Redness even went away and you had a natural blush. I think they call it foundation because it evens out your skin tone which is what foundation supposed to do. Therefore, it’s not a primer it’s a foundation. I like the idea of the product and would actually try it. It looks really nice.
You said once you put it on the skin it took the shine away, but it didn’t. You’re still super shiny. I have watched many people try this and it doesn’t look to do anything THAT noticeable to anyone’s skin. Especially when you are seeing their marketing photos. Nothing like those pictures is happening with anyones skin.
Hello! Thank you Milabu for the video. I used a clear foundation in the past, Not that pricey, I can't remember the brand. I finally found a usable way don't to waste it: I applied all over my face. As I learned a trick to look younger that is not using foundation all over the face, just where needed, this transparent foundation was the way to "put all together". Also works if you only use concealer to diminish the differences in the textures. The highlighter looks exactly like if you put some sunscreen spf50. Big hug from Madrid
Personally I noticed a nice difference, I felt it did a good job of evening out your skin tone. That being said I am a more nature girl and feel that all the color, freckles etc in our face is beautiful and sets apart from all having the same perfect canvas on our face.
My take on what I see (or lack there of) is it might be an option for those who want a more natural look. I do see that it really does blur a good deal. I would love to give this "foundation" a try.
What’s interesting is that she would keep calling it a primer without trying it as one. Here’s a heads up on using it as a primer: it’s the worst! It pills almost immediately, so it’s definitely NOT a primer.🤣😂
I haven’t tried it, but I’ve heard it’s water based therefore, it would only pair well with water based foundations. It’s going to pill with any oil based foundation since water and oil don’t mix. I wouldn’t pay this much for a primer anyway so it’s definitely not for me.
Tammy D it’s not a primer though it’s a foundation. Just because it’s clear it doesn’t mean it’s a primer. This helps blur out imperfections and even out the skin tone in a natural way. You don’t use a foundation over another foundation it just doesn’t make sense. I love her videos but I don’t like how she changed the product because she thinks it’s for sure a primer, it’s not a primer.
I think the product try to imitate the european or even korean style like a more natural look not heavy or cakey make up. If you have a more even skin I think it would be perfect. My personal opinion
Thank you Julie! I write it better than I speak, I know I have to improve a lot! I know she is a troll but I am not gonna get mad about her comment I think that is what she wants haha not with me gurl!!!
A lot of people do. I for one concentrate more on my skin and finally started going foundation free so just want something to even tone and add a little glow. Really loving this idea.
I always really enjoy and appreciate your trials...you are always very open to the product delivering what it promise, and also very good at saying what you are thinking/considering. Thank you ( from Australia ) xxx
Honestly this is amazing. My face doesn’t need foundation but I do use a primer just to give my makeup something to stick on. I can also see this for people who love their freckles and want to show them off
Your skin looked really pretty most of the day! It appeared matte up until the last update. Curious how it would have done with a setting powder. I may actually try this for days when I don’t want a full face on.
This product has been getting a lot of hate, but I like it. I use the same Becca color corrector as you, Nars creamy concealer and It cosmetics setting powder. I'm in my 40s and have a lot more texture and this stuff blurs it nicely minus the caking.
Becca is getting some promo value from these products. This “foundation” is water based, meaning it pills with real foundations (most are silicone based) should you use as a primer. I think I’m bitter about Becca doing this to consumers. Yep. Salty. 😂😘
Hi, what do you meant when you say "it pills"? Do you mean the foundation slides on top of this if used as a primer and won't set? (sorry English is not my first language)
I’m curious why you didn’t set it with a finishing powder. Very few foundations stand a chance against oily skin without being set with a finishing powder.
I would use a little bit of finishing /mattyfying powder to prevent this shine and the finale result would be perfect for me. I do like natural, fresh make up, not to much.
On no-makeup days I'll use a pore filling primer just to make my skin have less texture. It just makes me feel more confident if I know people don't notice my large pores as much. But honestly, from what I've heard, this product doesn't do that so it's a big no from me!
Hello, just a small tip - for vids like this one maybe consider turning the lights lower or changing the settings of your camera bc now the lights are bluring out any skin texture you might have and we basically start with perfect skin from the point zero :)
Ok so it might be a bit gimmicky BUT it kind of makes sense to have a no pigment “foundation” that won’t transfer into your face-mask? I know I’ve stopped wearing makeup because I don’t like my mask getting dirty. Might give it a try
This could be really great for people who have textured skin issues but not pigment issues. I wonder what it would look like if you set it with translucent powder.
How’s your baby And please make a video of how your routine with your newborn I’m also having a four month baby boy and need some tips for time management with my baby
I'm actually interested in this product. Every pigmented foundation, moisturizer or sunscreen I've tried sinks into pores and gives me that hated polka dot look. I stopped wearing foundation years ago because of it. PS. I've tried many primers to fix this issue, nothing helped.
From what everyone else has said, this stuff isn't a primer at all, it doesn't play well with foundations! It's a weird product that doesn't seem to do much.
I see a natural difference and I hate makeup. I am 49 and love a natural look i do not have any concerns other than dark circles so I am going to try this
I don't wear any foundation, so this could appeal to me, especially if it helps my blush or bronzer last longer. I find that all full-faced pigmented products either rub off on clothes or clog my pores somehow.
I feel like I am missing something lol pigment free foundation??? When I wear makeup I need all the pigment I can get! It’s a no from me lol! Love your videos especially the family blogs, your a lovely little family xx
I've been looking around for a clear highlighter or something that would give a sheen without a white cast so I was hoping this glass highlighter would fit the bill. Alas, no. This minimal foundational look looks good on you, though.
You said your skin gets really oily through the day, would you say you have oily skin? If so, what foundation have you found to be the best with oily skin?
I’m 47 and I have to say I see the appeal of this. After 42 ish your skin drastically changes. I’ve tried lots of foundations and they all settle into fine lines. I actually look worse with foundation. If you know any great mature lady foundations let this lady know! I just ordered this weirdo product and I’ll let you know.
Sure not foundation is just some foundation looking for those want to look like hv good skin without using foundation. like in summer and wearing mask. they still want to look good underneath once take off mask. is good to put just little like concealer and blusher on top like u did. looking beautiful without a real foundation really. Just natural look is this what asian ppl is looking for.
As someone who has normal skin, I tried this out of curiosity since I hate wearing makeup but figured this could be for skin like mine... it was a bust. So anyone who has smooth, clear, simple skin, I know you think it will work but it won’t, trust me. It got me thinking, if this isn’t even for a face like mine then who could possibly be using this?!?! I mean, come on, it didn’t work on my boring face! What the crap is the point of this stuff😶
@@countrygirl4422 wow.....Linda...hunny...listen...first of all you have attitude and second I was stating an observation also third I love Milani's videos and was just wondering why...BYE LINDA
Do you normally set your foundation with powder? Would you with this? I honesty would like to see you do your skincare and makeup with everything except for foundation and I bet you would get the same result as with this clear scam of a product.
As someone who never wears any make up, this interests me. A way to improve the look of my skin that requires no skill whatsoever.
Me too
I was thinking the exact same thing. I use a tinted moisturizer now, but I would like to try it
OMG, if you just want an amazing blur product, I can’t recommend Hylamide HA Blur enough. It’s only $10.

I, personally, don't see the point in filling your pores with ANYTHING that is NOT doing or covering ANYTHING! 😔
On no-makeup days I'll use a pore filling primer just to make my skin have less texture. It just makes me feel more confident if I know people don't notice my large pores as much. But honestly, from what I've heard, this product doesn't do that so it's a big no from me!
I tried it today and agree with you that it looks and feels more like a primer.
See, I'm covered in freckles and hate the way any foundation looks over them. I'd be curious to try this.
The look that you created is very nice. Sweet.
Wouldn’t you normally powder on top of your colored foundation? That’s what I did and it was fine. Still not my favorite.
Would not spend one dime on this product haha. Thanks Milabu for this review 🤗💛
Can you show us how you did your nails you have in this video they look stunning. Keep getting Pigmentation foundation lol love to em and you all xx
Are you doing something with your lashes? They look longer 👌
I was thinking maybe this would be good for people who are cosplaying and want to create their own skin colors?
That's actually a great idea.
I think it would be good for people that don’t typically wear makeup/foundation anyway.
This could be really great for people who have textured skin issues but not pigment issues. I wonder what it would look like if you set it with translucent powder.
You should try an electronic eyelash curler, seems very interesting
Would love for you to try and review 100% Pure makeup products.
How’s your baby
And please make a video of how your routine with your newborn
I’m also having a four month baby boy and need some tips for time management with my baby
Is it pore-filling?
I don’t wear foundation at all, so I think I’m interested in the product!
I'm actually interested in this product. Every pigmented foundation, moisturizer or sunscreen I've tried sinks into pores and gives me that hated polka dot look. I stopped wearing foundation years ago because of it. PS. I've tried many primers to fix this issue, nothing helped.
I feel that this is really great for a light or no makeup nude look.
You can send it my way! I love to wear super low coverage products with a tiny bit of concealer ❤
From what everyone else has said, this stuff isn't a primer at all, it doesn't play well with foundations! It's a weird product that doesn't seem to do much.
It's like a face primer?
Hey, can you please do a review on Kryolan products ? although it is for professionals , their website claims it can be used daily ...
I see a natural difference and I hate makeup. I am 49 and love a natural look i do not have any concerns other than dark circles so I am going to try this
The Glass Highligther reminds me of Linda Hallbergs Cosmetics - Infinity Glass 😊
What do you use for your eyebrows? They are fantastic!
Becca is out here playing with ppl intelligence... straight up nonsense.
I don't wear any foundation, so this could appeal to me, especially if it helps my blush or bronzer last longer. I find that all full-faced pigmented products either rub off on clothes or clog my pores somehow.
Most primers clog my pores, could this be used as a primer?
It looks good
I feel like I am missing something lol pigment free foundation??? When I wear makeup I need all the pigment I can get! It’s a no from me lol! Love your videos especially the family blogs, your a lovely little family xx
I've been looking around for a clear highlighter or something that would give a sheen without a white cast so I was hoping this glass highlighter would fit the bill. Alas, no. This minimal foundational look looks good on you, though.
What is your favorite facial moisturizer? I am having a hard time finding one that doesnt weigh down my face and make it oily.
Adding: Does this kinda feel like slime? I mean the gooey toy stuff. Can see how that would be fun. Can get it cheaper
Milabu, will you do makeup brushes? Which is for what?
You said your skin gets really oily through the day, would you say you have oily skin? If so, what foundation have you found to be the best with oily skin?
Mila love your earrings! Where'd you get them? 😍
What are the ingredients?
of course. nice packaging but the product not worth it. that what you call fast money-making. just the descriptions on Sephora, I was like wait, what?
Love your videos! I just wish you would use a different coloured background other then white. It would be so much easier to see what’s going on.
I guess its good for people who dont wear foundation and like natural makeup
Sooooo, it’s basically a foundation for people with flawless skin??? Aka, not for me. Got it! 😂
You look great with this!!!
Woooow. I muuuust watch this. It’s crazzzyyyy
Look at that sweet bebe! 😭 Miss my kiddos being so tiny.
You still look beautiful with zero pigment. 🥰
You should turn down the lights a bit
Maybe it might work better on someone who doesn't have oily and imperfections on their face
The highlighter was definitely just clear lipgloss 💄 but you look amazing
This looks like it might be very good for aging skin? What do you think?
Have you ever tried a free facial at Merle Norman cosmetics, or their makeup?
I will skip this "foundation."
I feel like the foundation does nothing and the point was marketing - trying to get a viral moment.
Has there always been music in the videos? Or did I just notice it?
That 0 pigment "Foundation" AKA primer and the highlighter and lipstick is stupid. Why would you buy that if you find a cover-up stuff
I do see a difference to be honest.
I saw you dipped your finger in the eye corrector but you didnt like when you had to do it in the no color foundation?????
Call the make up police BTW is your name Karen??????
You saw her dipped that would be dip.
@@countrygirl4422 wow.....Linda...hunny...listen...first of all you have attitude and second I was stating an observation also third I love Milani's videos and was just wondering why...BYE LINDA
I’m wondering if it’s good got me as I don’t wear much makeup. Lucy uk 🇬🇧
Cot?
Thanks for reviewing it...pass for me!
Do you normally set your foundation with powder? Would you with this? I honesty would like to see you do your skincare and makeup with everything except for foundation and I bet you would get the same result as with this clear scam of a product.
Its a very clean look though.
Hi. We need more hair styles videos. Please!!
You should try mixing a powdered foundation in just for fun to give it pigment??
I really want to touching it & try it because The texture of the foundation looks interesting 😂
love you!
It reminds me of the stuff Mally had out a few years ago.
