  • In this video I share some tips we have incorporated related to destructive behavior in an autistic child. We have been through several television sets, tablets, lightbulbs, picture frames, etc...all destroyed either during a meltdown or as sensory seeking behavior. We have made some changes in the home to better manage this and I also show a behavioral modification approach we have incorporated. As always, please leave your tips for us or feedback in the comments!!

I just found this video and I can really relate. Never thought about the projection screen TV! Genius idea. We have replaced the glass in picture frames with plexiglass. You can find it at the home improvement store and they will cut it to size. As for family pictures, you could make copies and mod podge them to art canvases.

I'm autistic (high functioning), and I have had some destructive behavior in the past. (which was mostly done out of anger.)
I did eventually grow out of it, since I started to control myself better.
I could definitely learn something from this video for when I have my own child (and in case they do inherit the disorder from me.)
anyways, this video has some really good advice. You have also earned yourself a subscriber :)
Edit: I did look this up on google btw, and it said that it is possible for autism to be passed down from parent to child.
