What does H2 and L2 mean on the violin?

What is a C2 and F2, where is that on a Violin?

So... If I'm understanding correctly, H is Sharp and L is Flat??

H means higher and L means lower, it doesn't necessarily mean sharp or flat. For example, a L2 on the D string is an F natural. A L2 on the G string is a B flat. Sharp means a half step higher than a natural and flat means a half step lower than a natural. I hope that make sense!
