Dear Mr. Boylan! Many people in the world really appreciate your brilliant work, this elegant adaptation of Helsreach audiobook. We have our own UA-cam channel in Russian, centered on Warhammer lore stories. It doesn’t really big channel, but we’re growing up and several months ago Bruva Alfabusa himself :) gave us a permission to work with his videos from the ‘If the Emperor had Text-to-Speech Device’ series and some others. Now we translate them into Russian and make a Russian voiceover for them. And we’ll be very happy if you’d consider the possibility to grant us an approval to present your work to the Russian audience - to make multi-voiceover and Russian subs for it, and to publish it on our channel. To get the translations into Russian right, we work with a man who makes official translation of BL books for the Russian publishing house and also a big fan of the 40k universe. And to get the voiceover right, we work with guys who have access to the recording studio with professional equipment. Of course, we’ll publish a links to your channel with every localized video. Thank you for your time! Serafim Novikov
I love what you did with the dying guardsman and the Black templar. That little attempt to try to and comfort her as she was succumbing to her wounds really adds to the episode.
Practically i think it was a good touch to the episode, he could of ended her swiftly, but better to comfort in the last moments and show compassion in the face of no hope of saving her life. not all space marines are merciless.
Sadly its why he seemed uncomfortable trying to comfort her. I mean, he hovered his hand over her gaping wound. He didn't know how to really help a person in real pain because space marines don't feel physical pain, let alone agony.
Allthough the ORDINATUS Is not yet operational, it still has a strong defence mechanism. It is protected by an army of badasses, from the nearby hive of HELLSREACH. These badasses must be Stomped before any attack on the ORDINATUS.
I especially love how you treated from 5:00 onward. That scene really demonstrates the great irony of the Astartes. Humanity's greatest defenders, generally lacking in their own humanity. Seeing "mere mortals" fight and die alongside him, with the same fury and honor he fights with yet without the near demigod-level of power he possesses, it humbles him. That's a pretty rare depiction of the Emperor's Angels of Death. Truly remarkable.
+Antnerd I got that feeling too. Having spent literally decades as an immortal warrior that feels no pain, no fear, Primus is ill-equipped to comfort the guardswoman because he cannot truly empathise with her pain. That he tries anyway humanises him. It's these rare glimmers of humanity, in a setting as grimdark as 40K, that make those moments all the more precious.
@Lord Admiral Spire The Batteries charge slower than guardsmen can fire them, especially on planets so heavily polluted like Armageddon. can be difficult to get enough sun light to do so. Most likely be more efficient to use the thermal energy generated from one's body. If your willing to risk it you could always use a fire though, but making a mistake there ruins the magazine and can explode.
@@red244 Guardsmen have two more packs (i.e. ammo magazines) in their standard pack if I'm correct. I'm sure they have enough to kill a amount amount of orks.
That scene with the Astartes and Guardswoman, I almost shed a tear. For any serving in the guard, being watched over by an Angel of Death is a comforting feeling, I could see how Primus was unable to do anything save try to offer some sort of compassion. Ironically he scoffed at normal humans, but what is it really that makes him so hesitant to show such things, they are beyond human and yet to see someone dying in front of you who'd been fighting against odds that we (people in the present age) could never imagine. I love Warhammer 40,000 because it's absolutely limitless when it comes down to any message and theme that if you have enough love for, you'll showcase to those who want to view your vision. Excellent work Richard, you deserve the praise for this video and I cannot wait until you showcase a battle between Astartes and Nobs hopefully.
I actually want to read the book. I want to know if there’s more to it then what was screen played. I want to know if there’s thoughts read out in primus’s head during this section.
Last thing she saw in her live was a Space Marine taking his Time just for her, showing her that HE recognizes that she did her Duty well... its such a butiful Scene, almost shed a Tear too
I can only imagine the feeling the guard lady felt. She probably has been told about the fabled Angels, the Warriors from Space, the mighty Astartes in stories from her childhood. They are considered as Holy, beyond corruption of mere mortals. Moments before she was called a sister by Grimaldus himself, and now she lay dying in immense pain but knowing she fought alongside representatives of the Emperor himself. Blessed she has been, thrice blessed she is now to have died in the service of the God-Emperor.
Best visualization of the 40k universe, to date. A labor of love that GW should seriously think about bringing Richard on board to create this type of content full time.
Just pure genius. Why can't Hollywood do something like this. Mr. Boylan here has a gift. That first hit with the Crozious was perfect. The guard dieing as the Space Marine crouches over her. Just capturing the feeling of the what Space Marines are supposed to be. Maybe it's best that Hollywood does not tackle WH40K - they would screw it up. Still The WH40K Cinematic Universe would be a thing of wonderment. Thanks for the great work. Please keep it up.
Yeah they absolutely would. Remember how we thought Star Wars was sacred. I dont know if i could handle a watered down version of 40k. It would have to be in the same area that Mad Max Fury Road went. Real visceral, gritty, in your face type film.
I love how primus, who scoffed at the idea of battling alongside humans, is the one to comfort the dying soldier. In that moment it felt like he had remembered what it meant to be human and maybe was humbled by the bravery of the fragile mortals who fight with the same tenacity and fervor as any astartes. simply put it was a beautifully melancholy moment, well done sir.
You creating some serious art, even non-wh40k fans mentioned the quality of your doing! Please continue with this beautiful series. Greetings from Germany
To be acknowledged by an astartes is a truly defining moment for any human. Truly an emotional moment brought to life my brother Boylan. Her soul now rest with the emperor. And Priamus has sent her there with honor and respect.
Lord Icario I was curios about the lasrifles, if they were portrayed as acceptable weapons or flashlights. I think the scene struck a good balance between those two.
I think the same, my only grievance and being really nitpicky would have been the sound for the Lasguns. But hell, the scene of the guardsman magdumping into the nobs face and all of the orks falling from the wall is damn well worth it.
Richard, I must say well done. The death of the guards woman was incredibly well done. An amazing portrayal of emotion all done behind a helmet. This speaks to the amazing skill of the animator. Bravo, I cant wait for more.
I love Priamus’s character. He comes across as an cocky marine who’s so sure of his abilities, and thinks himself above normal humans, when really he’s just like them. He kept the guardswoman company during her final moments, shows unwavering respect for Bayard, even more so when he was killed, and in Priamus’s final moments, he sounded desperate and perhaps even afraid. “They’re breaking the temple down!!!” “Grimaldus…brother.”
Do you know with the beauty is of the scene with a female Imperial guard is dying? You never see Grimaldis' face. Yet you feel emotion. You feel the exchange of a motion between him and the female Imperial guard. Absolute artistry. That and the music. It tears your heart out. It has an 80's techno Blade Runner feel. Which is a great reminiscing thought. Can't stop watching this thing over and over again. You're a genius.
It was actually Primus, but the sentiment still remains valid. Perhaps more so. He was the one who scoffed at being stuck with normal humans, most likely sneering at their inferiority, but in that moment, there he was, standing by a warrior who had fought with the same bravery that any Space Marine had, yet, despite his perceived superiority, he was powerless. He couldn't comprehend her agony and didn't know what to do. He wanted to do something, but in that moment he knew that he was too far removed and didn't truly understand her agony, but he did know that he respected her enough to try to go through the awkward motions of guessing how to comfort someone. The smart arse of the squad had been humbled.
Thank you for evoking the real story behind "Helsreach": the transformation of Grimaldus from someone, who nearly despises the"normal" humans into someone, who respects them truly, and who is respected by them. I like the scene, when Grimaldus face is half revealed, to show, there is still a human being behind this skull-front of the helmet.
I've watched this video probably more than 30 times. You did a great thing here. The imperial gaurd fighting against overwhelming odds, the Marines rallying the men on the wall, the hardened space marine that's seen hundreds, maybe thousands of battles taking a moment to comfort that trooper. He hasn't lost his humanity. Really connected with the opening statements. I'm a vet myself. I was mechanized recon. So I feel silly for saying this given the fictional nature of the universe but....this video blew me away. Keep doing what your doing. This was amazing.

Right here. And I find your lack of Faith disturbing. Only a Heretic would hold the twisted ingenuity of the Daemon above the brilliant genius of Man. It is however entirely within their modus operandi to try and turn loyal servants of the God-Emperor against themselves. I cannot deal with how good this series is. If I win the lottery I'm going to buy you, and install you in a studio on the grounds of my estate so you can make stuff like this for me all day.
Always nice to see the Guard portrayed as something other than a convenient meat shield to slow the enemy down till the space marines can arrive and take all the glory.
This was my favorite episode yet. Just the sight of the Stormboyz coming over the wall was enough to set my heart aflutter, plus the moment of the dying guardsman was really the best.
Think I prefer the Black and White with just the odd important element colourised every now and then. Still brilliant either way. My favourite bit was the Stormboy leaping down right into Grimoldus's path. It was like "get fucked ork"
You deserve more then just a like my lord you deserve the emperors blessing you deserve your work to travel across the stars and the story of the templars and steel legion will inspire humanity across every battlefield
Just watched it again. Each installment just gets better and better. You've brought the 40k universe alive with a style that inspires like when I watched Stars Wars for the first time in 1977 at seven years old. When the female guardsmen dies, the emotions are raw and real. The exchange between her and Grimaldus are heart breaking without speaking a word. A work of art.
I just have to say this is extremely well done! Well done to the creator and everyone involved in this! The sound effects are just right and good on you guys for putting his together where GW continue to fail to do so!!
My goodness I didn't think you could get these any more awesome, but you managed with this episode! Wowzers! If this keeps up this series will be way better than the Ultramarine movie that got made, that's for sure.
I will post this on every Helsreach video, so you will be able to see it. Helloo Richard! (In Andrejs voice and manner) Reading books, listening to them, watching movies, playing video games, we experience a story which might be different if you watch it after you have read a book. Even though when people read book and then watch a movie, there is a chance that you might get conflict of how you imagined story and characters from reading the book vs how it is represented on movie or perhaps a video game. But I know that, with this movie of yours, there would be no conflict if I have read book first.. its that good. Its an art, not money grabber thing. I have watched it and loved it. Looked at every detail, expression, the angles, the way you presented the story, you animation skills, music, the whole black/white theme that demonstrated someones emotional&spirit state and then change to colorful when fighting started... I can go on so, congratz man, this movie of yours and everything in it, is perfect. The choice for Grimaldus voice actor is so fitting, like Robert Downey is for Iron Man. And for every other character, Aaron have nailed the voice choice. Andrej voice with that Russian accent, noice. Just noice. For me, Grimaldus is what a real Chaplain is, leader not boss. Someone who I would fight alongside with. With this movie you have showed that even though space marines are super soldiers, they are still humans and have heart. That even with Black Templars which are fearsome and fearless warriors you have showed that they care and love their brothers, that they aint heartless. You showed that Imperial Guard even without enchanments, they are fearless as much as Astartes. You showed reality in warfare with all those meetings and preparations that they had, that even if Grimaldus is Reclusiarch, someone who leads and inspires people, he let anger flow through him few times, yet as time passed on, he conquered that. You showed that even in grim dark universe of 40k, there is light, there is hope and that there is love. You showed what brotherhood really is and made some man shed a real tear. You touched my heart with this movie. I can go on an on with all of this, but UA-cam will not let me post comment with that many characters. You havent wrote the book but what you did is you presented this story perfectly. Your animations might not be as one the Marvel has (fancy and shiny) but they are very good and I like them(really, you are good with them), you are one man army, this was done with love and hard work. Thank you for this Richard.
Awesome just awesome. Like the coloring. And the the Moment when the wounded Guardsmen died. I could feel the anger of the Astartes and his silent vow to avenge her.
That was stunning & with colour too, thanks Richard been so looking forward to this & every episode you do.I really hope that somehow something great happens for out of this, you give us so much of your time & seeing your work come to life is astonishing. Thankyou
This is the greatest 40k moving image I have ever seen. Absolute perfection in capturing what it means to be an imperial in such times, be it guard or Astartes. The way that Templar looks around for what to do or how to comfort the guard soldier dying is just so well done, it's like the only time he's unsure of himself is when he's required to provide comfort rather than kill enemies. This is beyond epic and needs to be made into a full movie
That part with the dying female soldier and Primaris was epic! So much feeling intoned in just that segment as he watched over her as she died. Amazing work! please keep it up!
Much like the battle for Helsreach I'm only just getting started. Trust me, the "epic" hasn't even begun!
You realize that if you makes these any better, I WILL die of a heart attack.
None who died in his name died in vain
I like how this time, you gave a hint of color to the video, enough to enhance the story, not too much.
Ave Imperator Boylan!
You going to stick with color now or go back to black and white?
That... was a lot of work.
I can belive this. But it looked really great. Thank you for making this series!
if it s helpful, in black and white might be better. if that is going to require too much time, know that like this is still great.
We shal pay you for it with our love and appreciation for your magnificent craft!

Nothing more to say than thank you sir ! With each episode you give me goosebumps !
Always nice to see the Guard portrayed as something other than a convenient meat shield to slow the enemy down till the space marines can arrive and take all the glory.
THIS IS BRILLIANCE!
Turrican i
When Priamus gave just a moment of comfort to a dying guardsmen, when he realized their courage, absolutely beautiful.
These only ever improve. I love them so much. Continue your work in the name of the Emperor, Brother Boylan.
that headbutt was truly an act of devotion worthy of remembrance in the reclusiam
That little bit of color and the bloody red contrast - so much cool :]
By far my favorite of the series. So amazing. I get chills as the guardsmen push the stormboyz off the ramparts every time.
Just when you think it can't get better. Then does. Superb work!
The side by side with Grimaldus' face under the helmet is an awesome touch.
Nice Work! The added clarity of color and lighter line work really makes your work pop more. I cant wait till the next part!
When the "blade master" kneels by the dying mortal and silently gives her his blessing...that's story telling...and humanity at it's best..bravo
good to see that the flakpanzer gepard is still used 38.000 years from now
These episodes were awesome in B/W but is jaw dropping in colour. Absolutely fantastic effort. You do the genre true justice. Thank you.
This series is frackin awesome.
that scene of The Wounded Guardsman and The Space Marine it's just Beautiful. Love it
Dude....this is AWESOME! I like the hints of color in there too.
These are proper space marines. The way the chaplain just effortlessly knocks the nob out of the air with his crozius... oh man, glorious!
Incredible, amazing, unbelievable. Please don't stop
I will post this on every Helsreach video, so you will be able to see it.
Helloo Richard! (In Andrejs voice and manner)
Reading books, listening to them, watching movies, playing video games, we experience a story which might be different if you watch it after you have read a book.
Even though when people read book and then watch a movie, there is a chance that you might get conflict of how you imagined story and characters from reading the book vs
how it is represented on movie or perhaps a video game.
But I know that, with this movie of yours, there would be no conflict if I have read book first.. its that good. Its an art, not money grabber thing.
I have watched it and loved it. Looked at every detail, expression, the angles, the way you presented the story, you animation skills, music, the whole black/white
theme that demonstrated someones emotional&spirit state and then change to colorful when fighting started... I can go on so, congratz man, this movie of yours and
everything in it, is perfect.
That even with Black Templars which are fearsome and fearless warriors
you have showed that they care and love their brothers, that they aint heartless. You showed that Imperial Guard even without enchanments, they are fearless as much as Astartes.
You showed reality in warfare with all those meetings and preparations that they had, that even if Grimaldus is Reclusiarch, someone who leads and inspires people, he let anger flow through him few times,
yet as time passed on, he conquered that.
For the emperor!
Awesome just awesome. Like the coloring. And the the Moment when the wounded Guardsmen died. I could feel the anger of the Astartes and his silent vow to avenge her.
PURGING WITH MY KIN
Oh no it is a Ultra Smurf by the name of Cato sicarius
Each episode gets more colorful as well!
Wow. Thank you for this.
Oh what a glorious difference some depth of field and a touch of color makes.
YES!! GOD DAMN THIS IS SO GOOD!!
That was stunning & with colour too, thanks Richard been so looking forward to this & every episode you do.I really hope that somehow something great happens for out of this, you give us so much of your time & seeing your work come to life is astonishing. Thankyou
We Need It!!! We want it! Awsome work man!! Cant wait for more!
Just done watching and damn! You actually took your passion to put it into work. Impressive work.
I'm loving the color, and the music that played when the guardsman died gave me the chills!
Truly great work!
Glorious, as ever. Your telling of the bravery and sacrifice of all warriors of the Imperium is inspirational. You serve Him well, brother.
awesome job.
That part with the dying female soldier and Primaris was epic! So much feeling intoned in just that segment as he watched over her as she died. Amazing work! please keep it up!
ITS HEREEEEEE
Love the discrete addition of colour , really brings these amazing clips to life
Space marines make it look so easy.
By the Dark Gods, this series is absolutely breathtaking!!! Thank you so very much for this!!!
That's quite impressive.
Dude...when he tries to comfort the mortally-wounded guardswoman. Right in the feels!
