    Hey fletch, nice short video. Does your head unit have built in steering wheel controls for volume and call futures or will you be adding an aftermarket steering wheel control adapter? If you do an adapter, a video on that would be great! Keep up the good work.

      Hey Jacob, thanks! My rig doesn't have the module for steering wheel controls. I generally use car play and don't touch much in the way of controls, but if I do, I'll definitely make a video of it. I bet there are a lot of walk throughs on thenewx.org or clubfrontier.org though!

      It does control steering wheel functions and also supports Bose. I never dreamed it could make factory Bose sound even better but it does. I got the Q80pro but basically the same unit

      Thanks! It's been a while since I installed that, but I feel like it's maybe 12345678 or 0000 or something like that. I'm actually not sure that I had to put in a code when I did it, but maybe I did? Wish I had more info for you. Not sure if their support will be able to help? I did some googling and they do have an email if it helps: support@eonon.com. Good luck!

    I'm assuming it has to be the OBD2 reader that is supplied by Eonon, because I have a Veepeak and it refuses to connect. It finds the reader no problem, but they just will not hook up.

    Hello, I was considering buying this, but someone told me that the bluetooth OBD's have some lag when you are using it to check torque and Power. Is this true ? Would you recommend the Eonon OBD2 scanner?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  Рік тому

      Hey there, good question. Honestly, I am not sure if it has a lag for monitoring power through Torque. I pretty much only use it when I have a silly check engine light pop up so I can clear it.

    • @simplistic5930
      @simplistic5930 Рік тому

      Late reply but it depends on the scanner itself, the one I bought 3 years ago logs MAF and some other sensors reading like 1-2 times per second so it's good enough. Torque has setting that accelerates the response and it works in most cases

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  6 місяців тому

      This plugs into your OBD two port in your vehicle, not the back of the head unit. They are generally down below the steering wheel and under the bottom of the dash.

    I need your help installing the backup camera that came free with the head unit. I followed the instructions on how to install it but it doesn't work. I don't know why. I check the connections 3-4 times and it seems to be connected properly. Please help! Thanks.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  2 роки тому

      That's weird. I didn't have any problems when I installed mine. Have you tried their customer service? Or, maybe you got a bad backup camera and you could return it as "non-working" if you got it off Amazon and select the option to send you another of the same thing. I've had that happen with some headlights I ordered and they're pretty great about shipping out a new one to you which will often fix any issues.

    How do you turn off the reverse camera on screen ?!?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  Рік тому

      Depends on how you have it hooked up I guess? If you wired it into your backup lights like the instructions show, then you just take the vehicle out of reverse and it should cut power to the camera. You might be able to hit the "home" button to get out of it? Or, maybe if it's a constant input (not wired to your reverse lights), you could hook it up to a toggle switch so you could turn it on and off whenever you want.

    So when I try to connect the OBD2 unit to my Enon, it fails. And if I try connecting it to my cell phone directly, it asks for a pin. Tried 0000, and 1 2 3 4. Not sure what's going on with the little bastard

      Are you connecting it via the "Torque" app on your Eonon? That's the only way I've every connected mine. If it ever shows as "no connection found" I've just unplugged the OBD2 unit and waited maybe 10 seconds and then plugged it back in and most of the time that solves it. Hope that helps!

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  3 місяці тому

      I mean, they are on the budget side for sure, but I've had a number of their products with no issues. Guess it's kind of a numbers game. I'm not sure how their customer service is, but it may not be the best since they're a Chinese company and that's a factor for sure. I guess my thinking was that since they sell on Amazon, I'm protected to some degree by being able to return stuff via Amazon. Sorry they weren't great for you!
