Great as always. I received my set of these two months ago, same conclusion about the smell. Have noticed that they seem to be dry-rottimg rapidly. They are no longer supple and rubbery but seem hard and slick.. I routinely clean with SG and store in a zip lock bag in a storage container as I do with all tires .
Ive run maybe six batteries through my jconcept knockoffs and they are already almost bald. They feel like a thick felt...Treads were visibly peeling and tearing from the grip even on the first battery.
Thanks for reviewing them, glad they arrived so quick. I gave mine a long soak in Simple Green and a set of double-buns and I like them a lot, though I’ve never seen a Rupture in a store. I’d be curious how they do on stock Rupture foams. In the end at only $18 for a set of 4 I’m happy enough with them that I don’t plan to buy actual Ruptures any time soon. 80% of a great tire at $4.50 a corner works for my needs.
I have a steadily growing foam pile, as I ran out of bin space to store them-- so I'll be re-mounting them to test without the weird included foam. I even have some unused Crazy Crawler single stage, as well as some XXL hairbuns.
My truck is light. These tires were terrible on it. No grip at all. Tried four different types of foam and none of them got it done for me. Back to my Proline Hyrax on Proline two stage foams. I am all for saving a buck the truck is an Injora lcg carbon fiber TRX4. Where I run I need the sticky compound. Lots of steep climbs that require a good compound , G8 in summer with temperatures in the 100 degrees Fahrenheit plus. In the winter JConcepts green or Predator compound.
So glad you did this J-view! I've been wanting a set of the real Ruptures forever, but impossible to find. I'll be trying these out ASAP! Thanks again for making everyday vids great!
I just got a set on eBay they say Jconcepts rubber tyres on the on the add. Jconcepts Rupture on the tires they come with a memory foam insert. There 120mm tall 50mm wide 1.9 wheel. There very soft and sticky for $28 shipped. I’ll be trying them out on my scratch built utb18 hope they work
I like how u do the budget stuff .. lots r on budgets. but If u want to build a budget build… or some for a kid… 🤷♂️ this is great info! Keep up the great work
I feel like you didn't press down on them tires as hard as you did the J concept I feel that way with the Tire foam also you're so good at this why would I even questioned you I guess cuz the human error we're not perfect we might not do something exactly the same as repetition does it really matter no she doing all the work thank you brother
Thank you for the review, I ordered 2 sets for my son and I from allied express for $30. and some change. You cannot beat that. I Love the links. Do you have a promo code or way you can get some sort of credit through our purchases through your links?
Thanks for your review. I have put the injura double stage blue foam and I Absolutly love them. So much that i have not realize that they were fake. Even better than my super swamper proline. I will need the order the real thing now. I curious to se the difference.
Thx for another great (J) review. Are the fake ones smaller in diameter because of the different inserts? And please, show me the way to those rims, I love them!
The fake Rupture have an undersized insert, what appears to be any run-of-the-mill medium/hard insert for a 4.75" tire, so there's gap all around between the foam and the rubber, where the real thing have big fluffy inserts that actually dome the tire out a little bit. Injora has all the colors of the deep SSD clone except chrome: amzn.to/3UQPnQY They also now have a five-spoke version of the same wheel: amzn.to/43K2yr6 The chrome are increasingly difficult to find on Amazon-- if you search there and elsewhere for "1/9 deep dish wagon wheel" it will generally provide results.
Maybe JConcepts can't get enough of their tires made because their manufacturer keeps using the molds to sell the counterfeits in the stinky compound 🙃. I'd be curious about longevity and wear-in after some of the comments here. Thankful I don't need more crawler tires right now, because your quick-views have the potential to hit the wallet lol. I picked up a B6.3 buggy over the weekend and have been playing at the PDX carpet track. I'm still a total newb but it's super fun and I can run the drift car while the buggy battery charges. Rain and hail this week up here so I'm just being a fairweather crawler at the moment😂
IP theft issues aside, it's hard to fault 80% of the performance for 25% of the money. You can also actually buy these, while managing to find Ruptures in stock is like getting a winning scratcher ticket.
Seems like a good value. I had a set and sold them before I ever got a chance to run them (5 months of snow, ice, mud will do that.🤣). I think I’ll pick up another set for sh!ts and giggles. 😎
Oh, I'm sure JConcepts is NOT involved, but rather this is a case of good old fashioned cloning-- probably the same molds Ruptures come out of. Whatever factory producing the Rupture just threw in some of their own blend and made some clones. The stinky stuff isn't as good as Hot Bodies red or JConcepts green, but it is surprisingly capable.
@@CrawlerCanyon if I remember right the listing at AliExpress says something about how lots of companies manufacture tires for JConcepts and these are made by one of those companies. I assumed they made them below J Concepts quality standards but they were made “officially.” Like how Aldi is just Trader Joe’s with the name crossed off and the prices lowered.
Compound. Unmounted without an insert, JConcepts green sticks to itself, you can basically wad the tire up into a ball. Clone can get the look right, but haven't figured the compound out yet. The 1.9" clone is quite a bit closer performance-wise to the real 1.9" than the 2.2" clone is to the real 2.2".
Thank you! Everywhere is sold out I ended up finding some at rc mart so I ordered them but they charge $28 for shipping so I payed $72 wasn’t sure if I should send them back and get the clones for $40. Might as well just keep my order I think
Be careful with these clones, the treads will get destroyed after 7-8 session of rock crawling, while the originals can endure 10x times more sessions. IMHO not worth it...
I have been crawling for many years now & never come close to wearing out any of the tires tread I have purchased yet. But I do not add any weight to my rigs ether.
I have 11 sets of ruptures 5 real 6 fake and I bet no one can tell me which is which if I wipe the green dot off.. I love my AliExpress ruptures And for 13$ for 4 I'll buy em every time !
Oh, I could tell. But they are awfully close-- probably because they aren't knockoffs, but rather just straight-up clones. Almost certainly the same mold that Ruptures come out of.
You have the best RC Crawler Channel in my opinion, thank you for all your test and valuable information you share with us. 👍🏼🤠👍🏼
I agree
Me too
Me three 😂

I was not expecting that!! I look forward to what they can do with foam tuning.

Bought some of these on ebay. I put them on my vrd vanquish. They suck bad. If your on a wet surface forget about traction.

I wish you had used the truck you normally use. Can you try the with the rupture inserts?
Wow. H'v u try the Amazon 2.2 Ruptures?
Ok, so now you're going to try them with Jconcepts medium foams, right?
Gonna try a couple different options. May or may not have some 2.2 Rovers on the way as well.
@@CrawlerCanyon they should be there in a few days
@@CrawlerCanyon i just bought a set of 2.2 Rovers...hope they're legit. The size is right where it needs to be IMO compared to the JConcepts sizes

Kinda gose back to that old saying, ya get what you pay for. But I think I'd buy a set. Great video awesome info. like always thx.

These seem like a G8 rupture. Might have to see what performance is like when it wears in
got my set saved in later lol

I have some they like to ran very soft forms but I can tell they was fake when I got them 😆 🤣 😂
The smell, right? They smell like industrial solvent. No rubber odor at all. Lord knows what they're made out of.

Do they make the Rupure clones in 1" versions?
