Since rebuilding my 10.3 transmission, my dig actually works really well. I don’t even have to pop it into reverse for a split second to reengage the rear wheels. I just never remember to use it.
I have Fusk for about 2 weeks now. Performance very comparable to the original Tusk. In our area, Fusk definitely can take the same line as Task did. You will need to push to the extreme to see the different. For me, I would confidently use Fusk in competition.
I finally put the same tpu inserts in my AT AT tires as in my trenchers. My AT AT suck terribly. I got them on trade. They don’t have any writing on them at all.
Well, I don't have to make that judgement, because the Deep Woods don't exist anymore. If you look up Duratrax tires on Horizon, the Fossil is the only tire that isn't completely gone or on closeout. I still really like the Deep Woods, but I like the "all around" performance of the Fossil a little more. They have really different driving profiles. Fossil vs. Fusk? Again, the Fossil is a true all-rounder. It's in my top five, not because it has the most forward drive or the best lateral grip, but because like the Canyon Trail, it's really versatile. In numbers, I'd put the Fossil at like an 8.8 or so. With a Squidn'sert, maybe a 9.1.
Disagree. What the Fusks need is more weight. For this test they were on a full combo at ~685g, and they're usually on a full combo weighing 1055g. But it seems wildly unfair to recommend putting the Fusks on more money in brass than the tires themselves cost. If the Fusks can't beat the Tusks head-to-head on even footing, then they just can't. The Fusks also have a thinner sidewall, so on softer inserts they would get worse on sidehilling and lateral grip in general, which is where they did they didn't do as well already.
@@CrawlerCanyon sorry just seeing this. Yes i do understand people setup things differently. Added weight is not a good way to go about it. Weight, once bias is set with some consideration of cog, then no more weight is needed. Rear weight added is next to never needed, unless unloading or not enough to cycle shocks on descends. Head to head concept i do understand, non foam tuned tire will perform in general less then a tuned foam tire. Fusks had next to no compliance visually in the test, if tusks were the same, then a foam change would help a material grip difference. Sidehill test is extreme, i do understand but really rare to see when you can take other lines to get to the same "gate". I often feel too much emphasis on sidehill is giving up way too much actually used drive and grip (contact patch). Heavy weight can also have a negative affect on sidehill and lateral. Tire/foam is tuned per vehicle, vehicle is not tuned per foam/tire, in general. I encourage a 4.5lb rtr proper front bias, sticky portal rig (ar45, f10) for a try out "testing". Or play with super light weight rear, plastic housing, all electronics in front 25% ideally to 40% of chassis, light foam, plastic beadlocks, etc... just setup foam firmness accordingly, static squish helps.
to add, watching baseline original testing fusks w duratrax soft foams, vs this test, baseline looked better. possibly even with full body, clearance, bumpers, etc... would give jake on the CC tusks a good run in this test other then sidehill. maybe a stretch due to full body...lol Just a unique test of different builds as well.
I ❤ my Fusks! So I stay away from Tusks. Because nothing will be the same after Tusks anymore... Have to say that I do run SSCC in the front and SCC in the back. However can't speak about sidehill capability though.
#fromthecomments A while ago you tested the Cool9030 (on 4s!). How about trying to take full advantage of the RC4GS' tuning capabilities with said Cool9030? Can the transmitter up the capabilities of it?
Hello again, Sir. I'm curious to know if you would order the Fusks over any of the other major competitors on the market today? Is it that good or would you recommend going with one of the other top tier tires over the Fusks?
90% of a Tusk means it does better than most. The Fusk certainly sits above anything I've tested from ProLine, and everything RC4WD other than the Baja Claw And Ground Hawg. I'd take the fake Tusk over anything from Pitbull, because I just can't get those to work here. So yeah, I'd take the clone before a long list of tires. Because they actually work.
I'm currently running Fossil's with med. Canyon rear and soft front on my 21 Bronco and I like the Landmines on the Origin and Bronco. They have a good scale look that Ruptures don't.
That's what you done if you look back on the video you went up and then down on this ideal I'm pretty sure I would have to rewind it but I'm pretty sure you with up a little higher than cut down to come out
I ordered a set of fusk and a fusion pro from AliExpress for the price of a fusion pro. Go figure

❤Great seeing you guys here again 🎉

Somebody knocked off AT-ATs? Crazytown.
Thanks for the comparison. I know you used to rave about the Deepwoods, would you still consider them against Tusk/Fusk?

this rig, this test, fusk need softer foams, rear specifically hard to tell on fronts if they need softer, i would guess probably.

I’ve seen people mount ruptures on a 21 trx4 bronco…. So what would you advise? Tusks or ruptures?
I tried Ruptures on the 21 Bronco and the bumpers and fenders rubbed too much. The Tusk are a smidge shorter and fit better
I wouldn't put Ruptures on anything with fenders.
Check out hello RC, he has a full fender 21 bronco video with almost no noticeable rub from a few months back. But I guess I’ll just go tusks 😢
I have seen it. If you run no droop and trail then go for it.@@V8chump

Any chance for a
Holds vs hobby soul slinger ( amazon slinger )
Now that we've done tusk vs fusk?

We need a half Ruptures half Tusks and call em Rusks 😅
Your testing is getting more scientific.
"Remember kids, the only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down."
Great job Jake 💯😎😎
Just maybe I might be completely wrong
They're not as good or maybe the rocks are getting hotter I don't know
Rc addicts. Almost always has them in stock
Why is your head being squished by your baseball save your head lol 😆
Um just a question I pay $7.99 a month as one of your big supporters and yet you don't respond to any of my comments 🤔
