    Chef AJ is amazing, she minces no words, does not sugar coat it, but is so real and honest with her struggles and journey. I find her very well spoken, an amazing interviewer herself. Love her channel and everything she stands for. I’ve read her books where she shared her struggles and she is just admirable, how many people can say they have turned their life around and also vowed to help more people willing to be helped. If I ever want to wallow in self pity, I stop and look at people like this and get a much needed boost.

    I've been plant based for 4yrs, then recently got diagnosed with Hashimoto's in October 2020. I cut out all the crap and went on Dr. Brooke Goldner's goodbyelupus dietary protocol (green smoothies with flax and chia, and lots of raw greens, and 1gal water/day). My TSH dropped from 86 to 7 in 3.5 weeks. Then I kept the green smoothies and incorporated a whole food plant based diet, it's been 6months and my TSH is 4 and antibodies cut in half. All without medication.

    I discovered Chef AJ a few years ago when I was really struggling with my eating. I wasn’t overweight but I was close to it and my eating felt out of control. Her tips helped me wean myself off of a lot of things. Then time, consistency, and patience did the rest. I’m happy to say food no longer controls me like it used to it. I’ve lost about 20-25 pounds since then

      Dee F you can do it! Remember to be patient and forgiving with yourself. I hope it goes smoothly for you. But keep in mind that you didn’t get to where you were in a day, so it won’t be reversed in a day. Now I’m able to eat sweets without going overboard. I actually don’t crave them like I used to, so my diet is pretty much an unprocessed vegan diet

    Chef AJ is great! So full of energy & looks fab! She’s so right about food addiction. I have no problem giving up meat, fish, eggs, dairy (hated touching animal flesh to cook it) but I never thought my peanut butter addiction was that bad until I look back on that. 😳

    I love hearing Dr Bernard. I was diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease many years ago and was told that I would always have to take replacement. In fact my doctor waited to put me on elthroxin because she felt that was a permanent thing, and then before prescribing it did the antibody and related tests. So..if I could ask.. I also have Menieres disease which I have heard some people speculate as autoimmune. It's been silent for a while as I have had it for over 20 years but the tinnitus and hearing loss are not changing with WFPB eating. The question is, is anyone doing research on reversing autoimmune with WFPB eating? I am curious!

  • @phyllisgordon6577

    Way to go AJ.

  • @tomoakley760
    @tomoakley760 2 роки тому

    I can't say I share AJ's strict approach to eating WFPB, but then everyone's physiology and psychology is different, so if strict adherence is what it took to get her past the scoring line, then respect to her for sticking the course. Personally I'll take an ounce of "naughty" along with each pound of "nice", coz I find that my overall plant food consumption goes up when it's bound up in a dash of oil, pinch of salt, and the odd helping of meat or fish or dairy. But its all relative anyways, many vegans might consider "raw vegans" to be "too strict", while some raw vegans might look at fruitarians and think "that's pushing it".

    Hypothyroidism research: Please count me in. I have been vegetarian for many years and vegan since 2017 - whole food plant based, SOS-free even. Still unable to cure my hypothyroidism. Fine tune’ning my meds with my GP all the time. It’s only 0,075 mcg thyrax a day but still rather not. For that reason I am very interested and willing to participate. Thanks for sharing. 🌱💚☮️🇳🇱

    I will always be an ethical vegan but from my experience so far, the vegan diet has not helped my hypothyroidism. I have always been vegetarian and vegan for the past 6 years and I was diagnosed with the condition about 23 years ago. I am now 57 and although it has really not affected me as in, I am not overweight, never had any fertility issues, I am still dependent on my medication I take 1.mcg one day and alternate with 1.25 the next day. I suffer from the cold and get tired sometimes. I have sailed through menopause though and I do attribute that to my diet and exercise habits.
