I bought a second hand dust bin complete with cover and swapped them. Glad I did because it was impossible to deflect the hinge pin brackets enough to remove the old broken cover. I would really have liked to see how it was done in the video but the job was complete before the video started!

Factory part is 29$ includes whole dust bin.im having trouble with seal on my aftermarket door. Seal keeps getting sucked into bin. Im going to add a few drops of glue. If still a problem i will order dyson factory part.
If mine breaks, I’m going to bring it over to you to fix for me because I’d probably break that little tab off while trying to fix it. Either that or use duct tape to hold it shut. Lol. Thanks Daryl
Mine came off while emptying in garbage and I can’t seem to get it back on 😫😫😫 it’s the back hinge part, how did they even put this thing together in the first place??? 😫😫😫
I recommend replacing the whole dust bin, the flap i bought did not seal properly. But, i used a small screwdriver, and lifted up on one of the hinge pin ears. Kind of pushing in on it from side.

I just forced it and hoped for the best. Sadly the cheap aftermarket cover didnt seal well and i ended up replacing the whole bin.

I was certain I was going to break it and have to buy a whole new dust bin. But it's only $10 more for complete assembly.

Its a tight fit. Required a lot of force to get the flap back on.

Check out 2:10 in video. Get a small tool between bin and cover arm.
