    I did this to a cheap brass hi-hat cymbal to make a trash-crash, and it actually sounded pretty good. Began to crack at a couple of holes though. Still a good use for a spare cymbal.

    I would watch heating them up unless you quench them directly after it makes them brittle. If you heat them red hot then quench in water tank the color stays and tempers the metal. With out quenching they will break very easily. I found out the hard way and after talking to cymbals makers figure out quenching is best

    • @JaceHebert
      @JaceHebert  3 роки тому

      I questioned if I should quenched the cymbal but I have had any issues with it yet. B8's are a pretty hardy cymbal though so it might be ok.

      Jace Hebert could be the one I shattered was b20 but quenching also helps the sound for me Atleast. I took a couple sabian sbr rides brass lathed them hammered and quenched. Before quenching they sounded dead but good tone now after quenching the volume open up big time

    I got a B8 Pro 18” rock crash I never even fill on cause it sounds like shit. I’ve got 2 o-zones that I fill on constantly. Then my ballistic crash. I’m definitely doing this to that old big bell rock crash tomorrow. Sounds amazing!

    Sabian cymbals for life man!!!! But, that would make an ideal stack cymbal. I'd say stack that under an 18" AA Fast Chinese cymbal.

    Thanks for Sharing the video of the ozone creation!
    I did one myself and I use it with my stack.
    I think there might be a chemical out there In which you could apply to your O zone to give more color and more of the earth ride look of the 90s
    Not sure what it is myself but I’m sure UA-cam community would know?
    Thanks again

      I'm so glad I could help you with this problem! I struggled to figure out for myself and after getting lucky stumbled across someone using it. Its called a "beam compass" now the one I'm using I ended up making because I couldn't find exactly what was going to fit my needs.

      @JaceHebert  Рік тому +1

      So a normal compass won't do, what you need is what's called a Beam Compass. They are somewhat pricey but they are also fairly easy to make. I've made a better version since this video was made. I recommend going to homedepot and getting a large yard stick and drilling holes in it so you can adjust your center point.
