I find it funny that they went through the effort to make the M60 hull look like a smaller Abrams hull.

How to modernize M60:
Step 1: Abrams.
At 10.0 USA gets an m60 with no mobility, no hull armor, and m829a1. At 10.0 USSR gets a t-80u (292) with the best dart in the game with crazy armour and survivability. Fair and balanced.
829A1 and 3BM60 have extremely similar penrates, and weigh nearly the same

@@zack10291029At 10.0 either one goes straight through everything you'll ever fight, I would rather have M829A1 with a 5 second reload than whatever the 292 shoots with a 10s reload.
@zack10291029 pen is pen. M900 at 10.0 has 522mm of pen, but still oneshots just as effectively. The Abrams turret also has a better elevation drive, allowing the stabilizer to do its job at all times. Overall, it'll just make America 10.0 even more jacked with all the event vehicles sitting at that BR as well.
Yes, I own the 292. I am aware at how lolpen that gun is, but its severely hampered by its elevation and horizontal drive, along with its locked 10s autoloader. It's overall a meme tank that's less effective than the standard T80
A1 is more than enough with that turret armor, don't cry, T-80UD ain't any better than Turms despite the armor
Basically USA wanted to tap into M60 modernization market (which was huge back in the day) by putting an Abrams turret on an M60. They offered it to Turkey but Turkey rejected it, choosing the Sabra instead which was the right option. USA was still producing the Abrams back then and they wanted every turret possible, so this M60 upgrade was kinda hopeless.
With the Fox armored car coming in 'Alpha Strike' in a few weeks, there's so many more British vehicles that Gaijin could add. Such as: The FV1620 Humber Hornet, a Humber Pig armored truck armed with the Malkara ATGM, the FV433 Abbot, the AS-90, and the Saladin armored car.
Should have had AS90 instead of M109, and I’d rather get a warrior prototype/boxer/ajax for top tier than low tier light vehicles

Its supposed to have a 1200hp engine but i believe they are going off the demo version that was demonstrated that did have the 750hp engine
Yup, the 1200hp engine never was installed, it was just a proposal if ever the M60-2000 went into full production. I was kinda hoping for it to be implemented in game though as the M60 was already slow enough at 8.0, and with this still having the same 750hp engine at 10.0 this will just be a pain to play stock.

@@ANukeWithLegs USMC doctrine doesn't properly support tanks in the first place. They got rid of tanks now for that very reason. Marines are meant to hit shores fast and light. Being an initial push, with the army providing armour support (if required) then taking over as primary combat units once the shore is taken. Marines control the littoral zone, army is responsible for in-land operations.

The proposed production variant would have a 1200 HP engine. Though the one prototyped used the M60 type engine.
It was offered to Turkey as an upgrade package to their M60s under the name M60-2000 and once that fell through, they offered to the overall market as the 120S.
Will be a nice addition to the 10.0 lineup that mainly consists of lights, can see it going up in br though
The M60-2000 is a prototype version. The M60-2000 was renamed to M60-120S and is the same build as the M60-2000. The 2000 comes from the year the program started, the “S” in the 120S stands for survivability and speed, It’s the company slogan. There is a bug report for it but that never goes anywhere with nato vehicles.

just follow the simple steps
1) m60 hull
2) turret (?)
3) it's an m60

As someone whos favorite tank is the M60, i see this as a complete win. I wanted the M60 AMBT so bad, but i couldn't grind War Thunder that much when the event was going on. So im glad this is a tech tree vehicle, wven though it doesnt really make sense for it to be

This thing would be worth being a prem or event vehicle but then I see top tier prems... this thing is alright being in the standard tree.
105 APDS will punch through the UFP of the hull reliably, let alone the HEAT-FS
On 10.0? That's crazy, same slow one shot T72B has no thermals, slow gun elevation/turret rotation, worse shell, and worse reloading... wth
Finally a nice cannon for 10.0, I didn't feel like researching the Bradleys and the mbt-70/xm803, so I was afraid of going from the M60A3 right to the M1A1 HC and getting my ass destroyed every game, I think 10.0 is fine but 10.3 won't be a problem, however the T64, T72 and Leo 2K are under 10.0, and the US tech tree doesn't have a reliable line up at this BR
The M60-2000 120S (2000 stood for year development started, 120 stood for caliber, and the S stood for SPEED and survivability.
It makes no sense that they are putting a upgraded M60 in game that was supposed to address the sluggish mobility problems yet it will have worse mobility then any m60 of the m60s in game.
They also took away its gen 2 thermals even though the m1a1 turret from the 2000s had gen 2 thermals. There is a bug report for it but you know how those go with nato vehicles.
IMO, they should just take away the m829a1 round and give it back it’s thermals and put the upgraded engine in it. This will at least make the vehicle comparable to what the finished product would look like.

I like how the M1A1 was too much for 10.3 with the M829, too much at 10.7 with M829A1, railed up to 11.0 and yet they made the M60-2000 with the M829A1 at 10.0...
Ik, dev servers so subject to changes, yet it's absurd how they can't really balance the BRs without compress or decompress too much any of them...they really should rise the cap to 15-16.0 and then adjust everything.

This would be an excellent sniper, if you're in a full downtier and you are hull down only way for someone to take you out is on the cupola with HE and or atgms but if you're very smart about it it's gonna be a challenge, the only gripe I have with this is the speed, for the br it's the worst in the game.

Both 120S and 2000 were used for its name. 120S tho from what iv seen is the name given to it late in its development
120s and 2000 are 2 different distinct project.

I really wanted to like this but that speed just kills it for me. Yes, it is an amazing tank for sniping or anything offensively but that speed you REALLY feel. I knew she would be a little slower than M60TTS but not that much! Russia - 292 3/3 OFFENSE, ARMOR, SPEED --- USA - 120S 1/3 OFFENSE (Riiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhttttttt)
I would still prefer the M60AMBT I think, I still prefer mobility over protection. Also AMBT is much better looking imo. (though if I am honest, I would rather sell AMBT and get 120S lmao. AMBT is so expensive, also don't think the teammates is going to change anyway. I should sell it back in the days)
It’s funny how the Russians have latest AT shells but Americas running around with M829A1 which was made in the 90s? There have been 3 newer better variants of this shell and actual depleted uranium armour on the turret and front plate, fix the game gaijin

It has a HUGE neck. Anything that uses kinetic rounds will aim for that (given the player has 2 functioning braincell to rub together)
and the spalling will kill all the crew inside the turret. Just like with the Abrams. Same weakspot for every angle.
This thing will be weak. Will also be uptiered to 11.0 and the 10.3 premium shitshow against TURMS and Leo2s.
