Thank you. I try to be real with it. Spending too much time getting ridiculous kill streaks would make me go crazy. I want people to know how good these vehicles are, whether it's good or bad.
So many people don’t give enough credit to the stock APDS round. It is more than enough to pen a Maus’ cheeks, lower plate or sides. Not to mention an IS-6 at any angle. It’s a really enjoyable tank to play and from stock to spaded it’s an incredibly fun tank to play.
i have been using the m60 for a while now and i have noticed that even on long range maps the apds is better since it’s faster and easier to aim i only use the heat if i encounter a heavily armoured target and at long distance only if i know the range. oh and obviously you can fire through cover with apds.
@@Mountainlake1 HEAT is great for longrange maps. The APDS is good at medium ranged maps. The HEAT has enough postpen damage to kill a crew or trigger ammo. SInce most ammo on this BR are very packed beside the driver or behind the turret.
I feel like this mid tier US tanks (7.0 to 7.7ish) are pretty painful to play through. The M60 and the M103 are the only tanks with reliable guns fighting tanks head on. Doesn't help that so many people just hide in shadows and corners at this BR.. And you have to worry about damn helicopters too 🙄
yeah, at those BRs the US dont have any support vehicle, their vehicles are outclassed af ( M48 with a 90mm gun and 150mm of protection frontally ) against T-54s with 100mm guns capable of shooting sabots with 230mm of effective protection, i dont understand why they havent gave any kind of 7.0 ATGM launcher to the US, im sure there must be one, maybe even lowering the BR of the M551 Sheridan to 7.7, because at that BR the soviets have the Object 908 which is stabilized, has APHE, has HEAT that is more reliable than the 152mm one and reloads faster, only M551 sheridan advantage is the capabilitie of shooting the Shellilagh missile
Weird how the best vehicles at that BR are premiums like the T114 and the US Magach 3 with the 105mm gun. I can easily get plenty of kills with those vehicles, but as soon as I do a standard tech tree 7.3 BR setup, the stock grind with the M48 ACPR is painful. The T32 is a good heavy tank at that BR, though heat counters it pretty well and that classic american hull mg weak spot. Jet CAS options at 7.0 to .7 are limited, majority of the time your probably better off using a P47.
@@danko8983 yeah the Sheridan should be 7.7, the ATGM while decent from my experiences at 8.0+ the lack of thermals makes it not really full uptier competitive
@@Meowystery alternatively they could keep the Sheridan at 8.0 but change it to the one with the laser rangefinder, allowing it to use its HEAT at range
@@danko8983 Because it does not fit the narrative of Russian tanks were the best, on top of the insane amount of prototypes and "objects" that Russia produced. If they aren't doing historical accuracy, whether for time or stats, then they can flood every BR with options. now that the M60 is 8.0 it feels like aids to play. and the 8.3 M551 M60A2 and T95E1 are all apocalyptic bad. Non FS heat doesnt have any post pen damage. and the M60 and 95E1 dont have stabalizers.. so getting constant 9.0 and 9.3 uptiers vs thermals and LRF enemies feels horrible. and these tanks have no chance. + you constantly fight T55AMs and T62Ms which are immune to heat and early ATGMs from the front and sides..
The thing I love about the M60 is the cupola. It is perfect for baiting emenimes. Most of the time they will shoot the cupola because it sticks out of cover and kill only commander. Then you can quickly peek and shoot them while they are still reloading.
I'm grinding Israel rn and I absolutely love the Magach 6 and 6A. I had fun in the earlier Magachs also and from what I hear I will begin to suffer as I go further up the Magach line
Stock vs spaded the m60 are 2 different vehicles and the higher br m60s suffer much from the lack of mobility lack of armor big silhouette and stock ammo untill you unlock the apfsds darts.
They are good. The 6m gets thermals at 8.7 and only weight 50 tons, The 6c has an amazing ammo for 9.0. The 6b is just the israeli version of us rise p. The gal batash has good hull down armor. All are good tank but just terrible stock grind
Every time i get into an M60 I get popped within the first minuet of spawn. I've made it to like the 6th Magach and just couldn't do it anymore, so much death and couldn't push into points.
its stock shell is the only shell id recomend exept for like 3 hesh shells for those pesky df105s. spaiding it doesnt really make a difference because its so good stock but spaiding does help with the grind
I'm pretty negative on the m60s. They just get worse the further you go, with the AOS being possibly the best one. This one suffers from the turret design, and the mobility being what they are. You don't have good armor, or good mobility, and a gun that's about as good as everyone else, so it doesn't stand out either. I really don't like them. the TTS is especially painful, being end of the line.
I disagree. I've used the AOS and RISE in the US line and whatever the regular M60 is in the Isreali tree (Magach 6?). The M60s still have great reaction time present in most American tanks, great gun depression, and the armor is pretty reliable for me but maybe I'm lucky. The M60/AOS have a good heat round and the RISE gets the M1's low tier sabot almost a full BR lower.
@@rexxmen The problem with the base m60 is the fat turret, and the missing extra plate behind the gun shield, so there is always something weak for the enemy to shoot at that's easy to pen for any contemporary gun, without having the mobility to compensate for it. The AOS fixes that issue, even if the turret can still be kind of weak. As for the TTS, while spading that, on volokolamsk, the T10M would outspeed it with a similar amount of modifications, and even the is-4m could keep up with the speed (all about half-spaded, with the same mobility upgrades at the time and I happened to get that same map with the same spawns multiple times in a row). The rise is basically just the tts without thermals and m774 at 8.7, so it's alright, but I'd rather be in a type 74 any day.
@@danko8983 I'm sure they will. There's already stuff like the AMBT in the game, not to mention about half the Israeli tree, so I wouldn't be surprised if they added another US m60 variant since they wouldn't have to make a fully new model for it.
I just spaded the AOS and for me it's very nice too. I usually open my battles with it and the back up will be the T95E1. I felt that the regular M60 is not worth that much with the AOS so close and that has a stabilizer - which you'd want over .3 BR less. At least in my opinion. I suffered too much in the mid-tier USA and now it seems it's coming back somehow.
Who loves this thing?I thought people hated the m60s cuz they’re super slow and have mid armor. At least that’s how I feel about it when playing it, constant up tiers and you get dunked on at close range by aphe cuz of the fat turret cupola- instant 1 shot I can’t tell how many times I’ve gotten frontally killed by ZSU-57s who just aim for the cupola
I honestly enjoy this tank, even stock! The stock APDS is amazing really good… in fact, I use it over the HEAT-FS. At this tier, HESH is still useful. I find that no stabilizer is a downside, but you can manage quite well. The armour is good, not great, with average mobility. Is this tank great or good… eh? But is it fun for some reason? Absolutely. I really enjoy all the M60s, but the original is my favorite!
