Absolutely! I have been using old files as strikers for many years. I have gifted them to my friends as a way of getting them started in practicing this method of fire lighting. Thank you for watching. 🙏
Thank you 😊 I have also watched Mark demo this a few times at the Bushcraft show. It's my favourite way to make fire and taught myself a variety of techniques based on books I have read. Thank you for watching.
@@sammyslavvu1981 I have done the same, learning the basic technique from Mark (pinch grip or Nordic style of flint and steel use) and then progressing and modifying it and making it my own. I collect strikers, as well as forge my own. While I like other styles of fire making flint and steel is by far my favourite and always the one I default to.
It turns out that I am a subscriber of yours already. In fact it was your video that made me purchase the 1700s tin 😂 I enjoy your content mate, keep them coming. Hopefully I have your sub and future interactions 👍 it's nice to meet someone who is a fan of the flint and steel as well.
Love to see more individuals supporting the old ways. Keep it up, If youd like somthing forged PM me, I can help out on that part. stay safe, see you soon!!!
Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I find practicing some of the older skills in bushcraft brings the subject to life again. I am very much interested in having another steel striker forged, how much do you charge and is there a way to contact you? 😊
Happy New year my friend, I have tried to find the option to send you a private message but for some reason I cannot find it on your UA-cam channel. Are to on face book or Instagram?
the cut out from the file is a great idea for a steel for flint and general sharpening addition
