I feel like we've entered a time when most people have moved on from 'console wars' and now genuinely appreciate both consoles. I'll get a Ps5 because I've always had PlayStation, but I've been seriously tempted by the Xbox Series X.
From a gamer that has been with PlayStation from PS1 til PS4. The Series X is amazing at the moment and quick. My only issue is the UI feels dated but, jumping into and out of different apps is lighting fast like they promise. My strategy this Gen is to stay on Series X but, play tht PS5 ( when I secure one) for it's exclusives. Since PS5 games are currently $70 and Series X is still $60. Whatever you choose I'm sure you will have a blast.
I prefer disc edition simply because I like collecting physical games, and I know I'm not the only one. Plus, when you buy a physical game you actually own it. Digital games are just "rented", when the online service shuts down you don't have the game anymore.
All imma say is, whatever you pick, have fun playing. As gamers we should unite during this new generation, not fight. Whether it is Spider-Man Miles Morales or Halo Infinite, we’ll enjoy these consoles, together.

The demo looks terrible gameplay wise, story wise halo is going to top almost any other game.but that gameplay needs some treatment and 343 just can't do that in such a short span of time.
I would definitely include backwards compatibility. I always loved starting up my old OG Xbox + 360 games on my One, and I will on my Series X. As someone with a decent PS1/PS2 library, it’s a total turnoff knowing I can’t play them on a PS5 :/
What you don’t understand is.... if the PS5 was the perfect size already, then they would miss out on sales in 3-4 years when the slim version comes out...
@@vinnybruce2874 Sony always releases Slim revisions 3 years after the initial launch release of PlayStation consoles: PS3 = 2006 PS3 Slim = 2009 PS4 = 2013 PS4 Slim = 2016 I don’t think Sony will drop a PS5 Pro. Unless the tech industry moves forward at such a rapid pace that the PS5 becomes phased out that quickly, then it’ll happen. Otherwise, the PS5 is pretty cutting edge in certain regards as it is right now in 2020/2021.
@Trent Mage I got both the series X and the series S. The X is for me and the S is a Christmas gift for my son. I can tell you for sure the series X has definitely impressed me so much. I feel like it has serious potential. The X is so rapidly fast loading. When my son opens his Series S for Christmas I will come back to this comment and let you know how they compare to one another. I have high expectations for the series S as well!

My take is that I have a XoX and PS4 Pro and I'm going to play those and enjoy my Christmas. No need to fight or worry about these new consoles, they will come next year and be plenty available.

Got my Series X on Tuesday, its my first Xbox console and I have to say its great so far. I also have my PS5 coming on the 19th here in the UK. What a great time to be a gamer, no matter what system you choose
Game pass is amazing I did the 3 year Gold exchange deal 2 days ago and my game pass expires in February 2024 lol but what Im loving most about the Series X is the quick resume feature where you can stack several games up and continue them from where you left off....Its awesome.
I got my series s and so far it’s been working like a charm. It’s smooth, super fast, the UI is fast, the Microsoft store is fast and very responsive. I have no complaints so far. I’ve been trying to get a ps5 but unfortunately it’s no where to be found. 🤷🏻♂️
Crossplay is taking off and I am so thankful. I can finally get an Xbox and still be able to play with all my friends who have a PS5. Hopefully it becomes a standard!

Same maybe this year. Sony would lose so many customers if every game would be cross platform because honestly Xbox is much better for third party titles, more fps, better service (ps network fails so many times per month) better gpu cpu and most games load faster on xbsx (see digital foundry comparison) why should you buy a Ps5 if you don‘t like singleplayer exclusives. In reality, there is no "vs." If you like series x, that's fine. If you like PS5, that's fine. But there is no "vs." Videos like these only spawn hatred. I got the series x and it’s absolutely incredible, the load times does weirdly make a huge difference as well as it’s way it plays with a really smooth FPS, the next gen Xbox has made me want the PS5 tho just for its exclusives and dual sense, both are going to be amazing to play on. If you like the xbox you can always get the series X and then digital ps5, or get the disc ps5 and the series s, both have done really well this time round, next gen actually feels like next gen

Raising the price then reversing it was just a distraction so ppl wouldn’t notice the $60 option being taken away. Worked like a charm.

Storage for a next gen is too limited. PS4 Pro came out on 2016 with 1TB of storage(my PS4 pro currently has a 2tb ssd). Its 2020 and we are getting less than that on a "next gen PS5" (regardless of it being an ssd or not) at least for me personally its just to little. I'll wait for a ps5 slim with 2TB. I guess coming from a pc I am spoiled lol.

Well I got my ps5 last Saturday and I can honestly say the console is amazing. I experience child-like joy every time I turn on my console. But on the Xbox side that console is amazing too, both of them are. I hope to own both at some point, I feel like both have their positives and negatives and at the end of the day there shouldn't be arguments as to who has the best machine we should all just be enjoying games together

I can’t get any console because launch day for ps5 was the worst launch ever. No store had a anti bot test, so scalpers had a pretty amazing day, while normal people get to watch Walmart website crash
@@mmmmtaterss1494 Yes but the PS5 architecture redesigned from the ground up and it's new software design makes it stand out against the X-box, that simply fact means even with less hard drive and memory capacity it will handle whatever is thrown at it better than the Xbox. Sony did a lengthy reveal on the PS5 total restructure and what changed and why it matters, Microsoft did little to address there system in this way which would suggest it simply carried on with previous gen hardware layout and baseline software.
First time switching to Xbox since being PS since the ps1, and I have no regrets. Performance design is all a1. The series X is just a dope from top to bottom

@@TheRealShiaLabeouf The issue is the engines. You need time to implement the tech in both consoles and for teams to become efficient using that tech. Usually we see it increments. It will take a year or 2 just to bring the engines up to snuff for f what these consoles can do. We may be looking at an 7-10 year console cycle again due to the larger crossgen period.

I did got today Series X. So, I was just randomly calling the different store but all of them were like nah! And 1 store told me “yeah!! we just have 3 of them in stock that arrived today just an hours ago” but by the time , I was their it was just 1 left in 15 minutes. Luckily Oh yeah! got it !
Both consoles will be similar, if one was way better then everyone would buy that console. Neither developer would allow the other console to dominate the other. That being said, I’m switching to Xbox after buying PS since the very first one.

They needed wireless charging with that usb c since wireless charging is the future to throw controller on a pad at night would be nice feature but the usb c is definitely better than micro where that was much easier to break charger or ports if not carefully inserted with kids using it
I half agree with you on that but one thing that makes me really lean for the PS5 is the USB C charger, its 2020 things are not in the realm of the Micro USB ports anymore, we rarely see those on phone (aside iPhones). Let alone have to change batteries. I really do not like that they are still using batteries, and I understand that you can just buy a rechargeable battery pack but that is another thing that you need to worry about buying.
PS5 for me simply because of the games, i like the controller layout better and i know more playstation players. I can’t say anything about the new feel of the controller, because the PS5 hasn’t been released yet in Europe. It’s probably gonna be great in Singleplayer games though
Same for me. As nice as the new Xbox is, all of the exclusives I would otherwise want an Xbox for are coming to PC anyway (Halo for example). That doesn't happen for the many PS4/5 exclusives I want to play, so I'd need a PS5 to play them. Also more of my friends play on PS than Xbox, but these are all personal reasons for me making my decision. Don't let anyone try to sway you into getting one over the other for silly reasons that might not even have an effect on you, and just play whatever you want.
I’ll give you a tip, try and buy it immediately when it comes out. I was trying to buy the xbox series x and it sold in minutes, and to be fair I wouldn’t be surprised if the PlayStation sells even faster.
I think he means a caved in shelf, like the ones in a shower, sort of concaved, it's usually better to have your PC, or console on a open shelf, I plan on putting my PS5 next to my TV or laying on it's side honestly I think everyone wants it upright, but everyone doesn't have the space for it that way.
@Mark Long Ah I still have my PS4 for those games. I got that at launch last gen. I gave the One X a shot 3 years ago to try 4K gaming alongside my new TV, but fell in love with it because the services - game pass namely. So I decided to stick with it and got the Series X this gen. I might get the PS5 in a few years though, I like that new controller!
I have both the Xbox Series X and the PS5. And to be objective, I 100% prefer the Xbox Series X over the PS5. Once you get over the novelty of the features in the DualSense controller like Haptics and the Adaptive Triggers, it's clear that the Xbox Series X is a better system overall. And yes, the XSX controller is better than the DualSense.
5 generations in and I think no one really cares anymore. I've been an Xbox guy since the original so have no desire to switch now.. both consoles look completely different, which is great. Both play games like they're suppose to.
Both consoles have a "quick resume" feature, but the instant on feature on series x is a bit quicker. So even in a powered off state, it will boot up and load the last place you left off as long as you didn't quit out of the game.
I agree to an extent because when next gen games come out Xbox will be able to do things last gen console couldn't do at all so it's a next gen console just in the future lol

I think they’re mostly comparable. The main differentiator is the DualSense, Game Pass, and the exclusive first party games.
Play station is doing a gaming pass type thing too but it's like all the classic ps4 games.

Xsx clearly has a hardware and architecture edge, including a truly integrated AMD cpu/gpu package (ps5 does not), whether you can accept that or not

I got my series s and so far it’s been working like a charm. It’s smooth, super fast, the UI is fast, the Microsoft store is fast and very responsive. I have no complaints so far. I’ve been trying to get a ps5 but unfortunately it’s no where to be found. 🤷🏻♂️

Same maybe this year. Sony would lose so many customers if every game would be cross platform because honestly Xbox is much better for third party titles, more fps, better service (ps network fails so many times per month) better gpu cpu and most games load faster on xbsx (see digital foundry comparison) why should you buy a Ps5 if you don‘t like singleplayer exclusives. I got the series x and it’s absolutely incredible, the load times does weirdly make a huge difference as well as it’s way it plays with a really smooth FPS, the next gen Xbox has made me want the PS5 tho just for its exclusives and dual sense, both are going to be amazing to play on.
If you like the xbox you can always get the series X and then digital ps5, or get the disc ps5 and the series s, both have done really well this time round, next gen actually feels like next gen

Storage for a next gen is too limited. PS4 Pro came out on 2016 with 1TB of storage(my PS4 pro currently has a 2tb ssd). Its 2020 and we are getting less than that on a "next gen PS5" (regardless of it being an ssd or not) at least for me personally its just to little. I'll wait for a ps5 slim with 2TB. I guess coming from a pc I am spoiled lol.

Well I got my ps5 last Saturday and I can honestly say the console is amazing. I experience child-like joy every time I turn on my console. But on the Xbox side that console is amazing too, both of them are. I hope to own both at some point, I feel like both have their positives and negatives and at the end of the day there shouldn't be arguments as to who has the best machine we should all just be enjoying games together

Sony did a lengthy reveal on the PS5 total restructure and what changed and why it matters, Microsoft did little to address there system in this way which would suggest it simply carried on with previous gen hardware layout and baseline software.

You don't really need that long and the review units have been out for at least a month and a half
@@TheRealShiaLabeouf The issue is the engines. You need time to implement the tech in both consoles and for teams to become efficient using that tech. Usually we see it increments. It will take a year or 2 just to bring the engines up to snuff for f what these consoles can do. We may be looking at an 7-10 year console cycle again due to the larger crossgen period.

I half agree with you on that but one thing that makes me really lean for the PS5 is the USB C charger, its 2020 things are not in the realm of the Micro USB ports anymore, we rarely see those on phone (aside iPhones). Let alone have to change batteries. I really do not like that they are still using batteries, and I understand that you can just buy a rechargeable battery pack but that is another thing that you need to worry about buying.

I can’t say anything about the new feel of the controller, because the PS5 hasn’t been released yet in Europe. It’s probably gonna be great in Singleplayer games though
Same for me. As nice as the new Xbox is, all of the exclusives I would otherwise want an Xbox for are coming to PC anyway (Halo for example). That doesn't happen for the many PS4/5 exclusives I want to play, so I'd need a PS5 to play them.
Also more of my friends play on PS than Xbox, but these are all personal reasons for me making my decision. Don't let anyone try to sway you into getting one over the other for silly reasons that might not even have an effect on you, and just play whatever you want.

Generally shelves allow for airflow. As long as you don't lock it up inside of a cabinet
I think he means a caved in shelf, like the ones in a shower, sort of concaved, it's usually better to have your PC, or console on a open shelf, I plan on putting my PS5 next to my TV or laying on it's side honestly I think everyone wants it upright, but everyone doesn't have the space for it that way.

Both consoles are amazing, but I got to admit Game Pass switched me over. It’s such an amazing value for my partner and I. We love it!

@Mark Long Ah I still have my PS4 for those games. I got that at launch last gen. I gave the One X a shot 3 years ago to try 4K gaming alongside my new TV, but fell in love with it because the services - game pass namely. So I decided to stick with it and got the Series X this gen. I might get the PS5 in a few years though, I like that new controller!
Make sure to take advantage of game sharing, game pass shares as well.

I have both the Xbox Series X and the PS5. And to be objective, I 100% prefer the Xbox Series X over the PS5.
Once you get over the novelty of the features in the DualSense controller like Haptics and the Adaptive Triggers, it's clear that the Xbox Series X is a better system overall. And yes, the XSX controller is better than the DualSense.
5 generations in and I think no one really cares anymore. I've been an Xbox guy since the original so have no desire to switch now.. both consoles look completely different, which is great. Both play games like they're suppose to.
The gaming community is very respectful towards each other. It really doesn't matter what you enjoy on what platform.

Both consoles have a "quick resume" feature, but the instant on feature on series x is a bit quicker. So even in a powered off state, it will boot up and load the last place you left off as long as you didn't quit out of the game.

Both consoles have their plus and minus, I will get a PS5 but I cannot say anything bad about the xbox series X. Exciting times.
at first I was rocking xbox cause it was my first console, but after seeing that controller, console and those exclusives, I might go ps5

This gen of consoles is so cool. I’m a PS fan and I can’t believe how much I am loving the xbox series x along with the ps5. Wish to get them both.

I agree to an extent because when next gen games come out Xbox will be able to do things last gen console couldn't do at all so it's a next gen console just in the future lol
That's like saying the switch is the best example of next gen because it does different stuff.
Fact is, currently series x is outperforming the ps5.
@@TheJspan xbox doing 120fps and will have full Rdna2 and playstation 5 have playstation 4 games at most games at 30fps
