    at 6:40 that line of deep rust vein in the wall just above the 4 by is wild looking, almost looks rattle canned, just happens to be very iron ore rich vein/layer of volcanic deposit.. there is more on a layer below down some... fractured then got pushed from one end, the layer of ore actually folded over the top of another, trippy as hale, much like an extension earthquake, one section drops, one lifts then it's shoved over the top of one another, sometimes you see it vertical... after the extension, more activity pushed the layers so they stand vertical, valley of fire there are good examples of this but you see it all over in the southwest.. so much going on 500 million years ago, big things.. thing is they still move ever so slightly 1/4" a year or so...

    Start at Eureka Dunes, thru Dedeckera Pass to Steele Pass, hot dip in Saline Vly, then up Lippincott, check out the mine, then whichever way to where you're going!

    Dedeckera Canyon in a stock 4-runner ! -- I'm impressed We climbed Lippencott Mine Road a month ago in our XJ with a 2" lift and 30's and that was challenging enough!

    alright only about 2 min in and instead of commenting on how great every scene is i can already tell i should just say WOW this is some sharp video of some super awesome terrain, one area i probably wont get to in person // thanks so much for the high production values and for taking us with you!// ok i will add that shot of the dunes from steele pass made my day, that is definitely short enough for an Awesome hike// now i know it is worth hiking up there// great job on the rescue// we're in 2wd and carry shovels and wood, so we still end up saving other people

    Thanks for the awesome video, I drove the same route but the opposite way (Dunes to Dedeckera to Steele pass to saline hot springs to lippincott) Probably 3 years ago. with a stock 2000 Nissan Frontier with 30x9.5 tires. smaller is indeed easier when climbing those steps.

    Thanks for your awesome video. Is Lippincott Road to narrow for a Tundra or a Yukon? And are a/t tires a must. I'm driving off-road Tacoma, but bringing others with me. Thanks!

    • @AllTerrainFamily
      @AllTerrainFamily  6 років тому

      You can easily get a full size truck up/down it. As for tires, the biggest concern is punctures more than traction. Cary a pump and repair kit at least.

      Just got back from DV on solo trip. I did Lippincott Rd and to be honest I peed my pants at least 3x. Not sure road condition when this video was shot but im assuming limited video footage would be due to the but puckering and white knuckle. I was in a 5th gen limited 2.5 leveling kit and KO2's. This was the scarriest trail to date for myself.

    I easily made it through Steele from Saline in a stock 2002 KIA Sportage 4X4 2 door with only slightly oversized tires, so size really counts on that road (smaller is better).

    Great video. I'll be running in reverse from Eureka to Lippencott in Nov... from your video it looks like steel pass is pretty clear. There has been a lot of talk post storms that indicate Steel Pass is severely degraded. What's your opinion? We will be running similar vehicles to yours.

    Great video! How do you think a full size would do on this trail. I have a 2016 F-150 with a 2" level on 33" all terrains. Some of those spots look really tight. Do you think I am asking for trouble taking my Full size? Thanks!

    • @AllTerrainFamily
      @AllTerrainFamily  6 років тому

      Yes. Be prepared. That means be able to survive until help comes along or hike 10 miles if necessary. It’s not a hard trail, but anything can happen. It’s a pretty well traveled area. Both ends are popular areas.

  • @albatrosmile

    Hi there! Awesome video! Do you think this road could be suitable fo a 4x4 Escalade? I know it's not an off road vehicle, but I'll rent it so I really don't care if it gets some scratches as long as it can make it. I need to drive from the racetrack to Cerro Gordo

    • @AllTerrainFamily
      @AllTerrainFamily  6 років тому +1

      Probably. You can certainly get to Racetrack. Lippencott is more challenging. But you should make it with minimal damage. Though conditions on lippencott change frequently, so check on that first.
