I believe with individual work Enzo can improve his tactical understanding to learn how to cover for his teammates. Nkunku, I'm not so hopeful. He didn't even track back effectively at RB Leipzig. I think Felix/Palmer show more promise to develop defensive work rate.
I agree with Enzo assessment. He worked well with Luis at Benfica, although the latter was excellent at defensive output/industry. Felix I'm very down on sadly. Palmer is quite decent. Weak at tracking but his interceptions centrally are superb. We lose quite a lot keeping him as the RW oop. Should be next to Jackson in a 4-4-2 (but that's the strongest spot for Felix, Nkunku and Enzo too)
Thanks so much, Rony! Definitely expect a little improvement, but you ideally shouldn't be asking Nkunku to do what he did wide. Enzo at 10 is also a small question mark. I guess that's why he tried Enzo and Lavia in the pivot earlier. Won't be surprised if we see that appear again sometime in the season.
@@cfccentral3 from his press conference yesterday, I am banking on him using one of Enzo or Lavia to pair with Caicedo based on matchups. I believe he will bring Nkunku back central or at the 9 for some games. I am still worried about our transition defense, but I will be cautiously optimistic that with time and understanding, we will be a little better there. Appreciate the response🙏🏾🙏🏾
Our attacking-mids / wingers need to up their defensive game. Doesn't matter Nkunku, Palmer, Madueke, Mudryk or whoever. If we don't give that 5-10% extra, specially in bigger games, we won't ever win anything no matter who the manager. There's a reason the classic 10 is mostly dead. Also speaking of 10s, my hunch is that Maresca played Enzo there instead of letting him sit on bench because of the same reason; perhaps expected better defensive solidity. I do know a certain midfielder that cost us nothing who could have filled the role. But on we move.
This is very, very true. This is why Arsenal are particularly nasty to play against - Martinelli had a poor scoring season, but he and Saka are genuine two way wingers who work their socks off. Same with Jesus and Havertz. They might not be prolific, but they improve the unit. You won't lose many if there are 11 strong oop guys in your team.
At 7:22 you said “if maresca keep asking his attackers to work OOP it will define his stint here” What do you mean? how are we supposed to win games if our attackers can’t keep our defense from conceding shots?
My intention was to highlight those under scrutiny in this video: Nkunku, Palmer, Enzo. Nkunku is not someone who has the industry or the endurance to do what is asked out wide. RBL played him on the wings, but had a machines like Laimer behind to sweep clean. He's best centrally, in and out of possession. Enzo struggles to recover in transition, same as Lavia, but note how differently their roles mask their weaknesses.
Which is absolutely true. It's also still quite early in the season, Cole, Nico aren't fully fit. Nkunku mentioned he's still not there yet. It will take time.
Haha well Hazard was notoriously poor out of possession too, but his output was supreme so nobody cared (except Mourinho.) If Nkunku replicates his RBL numbers, it's up to the rest to carry him. Hopefully he can do a Palmer and give you the output + decent/good workrate.
Incredible analysis, as always. Love the visual aids. Thank you!
Appreciate that greatly, thank you!

Great analysis. I kinda saw it live but this makes it crystal clear - players not doing their jobs for whatever reason.

CFC central UA-cam era
Haha let's hope it isn't a short lived era
@@cfccentral3go get a shure microphone and you’re all set for content creation👀
Excellent breakdown Central. Do you sense some improvement on the horizon with tactical understanding from the players?

Could you do Chelsea vs Crystal palace analysis please?

Great work Sam🎉
Also I must ask where do you think we can get the most out of Nkunku and Enzo or is it one or the other for tactical stability
Thank you so much for watching!

I am thankful everyday for all the encouragement and love I get, words fail me. Thank you so much for watching!
cfc Central 💙💙💙
Truth is, if there are no mistakes no body will score. The team will get better, and Chelsea won't play the best team in the world every weekend.

We need to collab on a video brother! 👊🏿
For certain! Hope I can meet you on my next US trip too :D
