- This run starts past the intro sequence since the community officially began allowing speedruns to skip the intro. Overall this run was pretty good, only lost time to minor mistakes here and there.

I dunno what's worse, the fact that the world record has gotten this low already, or the fact I'm expecting Player 5 to upload a faster world record in a day or 2 now
The time seems to be getting really tight now, from p5s record I believe he mentioned catching his sum of best by around 30s which... Is in the range of this current record, 45:2x may remain the time unless a new route is found or some starts from GSI WRs are implemented for faster runs
It will start to slow down very soon. THere's only so much time save they can squeeze out of this without a big change.
Don't forget that the time isn't fully accurate compared to the older records since they cut out the entire intro from the timing.

44:55 is doable with a 100% optimization. Next video sum of best segments will give a good idea how far the time save can be pushed.

Haha! This reminds me, and I kid you not, my first play on May 12 I jumped down from the south side of the sky island and right below me as I was falling without a glider, was a well. I managed to fall into it and hit the water in the Depths! It was the one well that actually goes to the depths. So I skipped the Kingdom of Hyrule completely! After exploring the Depths a while (and getting my butt kicked), I had no choice but to teleport back up to the Sky Island and go down the intended way.

can someone tell me the purpose of dropping a wing backwards when reaching the door of the temple of time?
Keeps you from technically touching the ground when you get out of the cutscene skip, so that when you jump and void out you respawn back near the place you jumped off *before* the wing flight to temple of time

yeah it was a vote, and it was just timed like anything - there is like .1% skill expression involved so it's a waste of time when they are trying to run this like 100x a week

I think skipping the intro to this game is a good thing. The intro isn’t what is going to make or break a run and it makes grinding for harder strats a more reasonable thing to do.
Seems like this is going to be hard to beat without a new path.

Idk much abt the game so this might be stupid, but why not get the recall shrine before you get wings?
you can't access any of the shrines until you've been to the Temple of Time
New records will be 4-5 second improvements. Seeing a 15-20 second cut will be very tough. Sub 45 is possible woth perfect play on this route. Unless new route sub 45 is not happening this month.
If you're a speedrunner like this, do you just never update your switch? Always play on airplane mode to keep being on v1.0? What if you accidentally update?

It's a glitch called "zuggling." It allows you to hold multiple weapons at once, basically duping the weapon and making link hold them all at once, so a zuggled weapon 5x does 5x the damage. You'll notice he does some weird menu play and dropping weapons at 32:00

Is the last hit with the sword beam purely for the swag or am i missing something?
It makes the game load faster afterwards, making the Zelda split 8 seconds faster. That’s why the splits go from -39.5 to -47.7 in Zelda although you can’t really do anything in that split to optimise it.

A save file is created right after the intro, which speedrunners will reload whenever they want to start a new run. This makes it so the speedrunners don't have to look at 7 minutes of mostly cutscenes at the start of each run, though the time the intro takes is still added to the timer at the start of the run.

Does anyone know how to downgrade the game? I can’t find how to anywhere
You need a physical cartridge of the game. Delete the software off of your switch to delete the updates, and then boot the cartridge without updating. It’s not possible to downgrade the digital version without mods, unfortunately.
Doing this will likely render your current 1.1.2 saves unusable, though. If you don’t have a second switch to back up saves to then I wouldn’t risk losing progress through downgrading. But I’m not entirely sure
Hey, noob here, why is it called "Any% Speedrun" even without doing all the Korok/Shrine/etc (sorry for bad english)
Any% means that you can complete the game in ANYway possible, whether you glitch and skip all of the stuff you'd do during a normal playthrough for the fastest time possible.
