Should we move to Hua Hin or stay in Phuket? Ep 64
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 сер 2024
- This week we are off on a 8.5 hour road trip to Hua Hin to see how this city compares to the Island of Phuket as a place to live. Will it tick all the boxes for 'must haves' for our liveability? We check out the beach, play a bit of pickleball and have a look at four villas that are on the market.

I watched one of your videos with the introduction. It started with the sound of the wind, a drone shot of the big Buddha on a hill, the music faded in, and sharp text displaying the family. It was an impressive introduction. It is a shame that UA-cam algorithms don't like it. I am in the process of trying to decide Hua Hin vs Phuket. The main reason that you selected Phuket is that you are already settled. You know people and the streets. However, it seems "my guess" if you had to do it again you would have picked Hua Hin? The most significant negative for Hua Hin is the three-hour drive to the airport compared to one hour in Phuket (from Rawi). Again, thanks for the video, I will be in Hua Hin and Phuket in Aug & Sept of this year! Most likely, I will pick Hua Hin over Phuket.
Thank you for your kind words about our video. Maybe if I persevere I will have success with the UA-cam Algorithms eventually. The main reason we continue to opt for Phuket is really the community we live in and the friends we have made. If we were thinking purely from the head instead of the heart then I think Hua Hin would win.
Hello from Kiwi as well ,Married to my Thai Wife for the Last 20 yrs retired and know most things in Thailand ,Phuket will never be the same due to 60/90 day Visa which are destroying Phuket from certain Nationalities ,Love Hua Hin .Better to buy a Town House ,no Problem otherwise you have to set a Company to Purchase a Good home .Prices are Very good
the other Location is Cha am worth looking into as well ,Following your Channel any updates appreciated
Cheers
Thank you for your message! Good advice, we will check out Cha Am as well.
Drone skills are on point. Great vlog. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Nice house, definitely the first house. I can use the side lot of the house into fruit garden.
That was my favourite house too ☺
I have lived in phuket for 7 years and actually living since few months on the mainland near koh samui. I'm thinking of moving to a quiter tourist destination like Hua hin. It's also not far away from BKK and central Thailand. Will u also move to hua hin?
Phuket is also nice and has it's own charm and vibe, but it's too crowded and i hate the traffic and hectic there.
We are still thinking of it. Definitely tempting. Phuket has got very manic particularly in high season. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!
I'm a Kiwi living in Phuket. Been here a while now, used to love the place however I'm over. It's not like it used to be. Too many ferals from 2 or 3 countries have ruined it. The traffic is insane and the cost of living is through the roof. My Thai g/f and I will be coming to have a look at Hua Hin beginning of next year. Thanks for the great vid.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. There have definitely been some challenges in Phuket over the last couple of years. I can imagine if you'd been living there for some time, you would see some noticeable changes and a lot of them not so good. It's good to go and see what other options there are. I hope you find your new piece of paradise.
Hi guys,
Lene and I are an Aussie couple looking to do the same as you. We also have a small channel with around 60 vids.
On of the most important things that I was told when we had put a few vids out was to never start the video title with Episode ###.
This wastes valuable space in the title and your vid may not come up in as many searches as nobody searches for Episode 61! We moved our Ep number to the rear of the title. Maybe try it with a couple of new vids and see if it makes any difference. I've subscribed and will see how you go!
Cheers
Simon.
Ps maybe do a bit of a sort out of the home page to make vids easier to find. Keep all the shorts together etc.
Good luck with everything 👌👌👌
Oh wow Simon that's really helpful information! Yes I will try moving the episode number, that's such a great point. I'll subscribe to you too. I'll have a sort out of my home page. Thanks again Simon, I really appreciate it. 😀
I watched a Hua Hin UA-camr Almost retired in Thailand bought something like this unfurnished for THB3.5 million.
I'd love a link to the video!

Hua Hin is definitely more quiet, less congested, and certainly way more affordable. For what I currently pay for rent in Kamala, I could easily rent a big house with pool in Hua Hin.
Yes, agree. Properties that we looked at with the agent in Hua Hin would be at least double the price in the area we live in Phuket
So why u dont move there ?
@@minotor7176because Phuket is #1 for us at this time
Hua Hin is much better cheaper I remember 23 years ago phuket but Hau Hin is better I remember I drove from Bangkok to chaing Mia. The beach is lovely at Hou hin you made a great choice
Can you tell me who the agent was as I'm also looking to purchase villa in Huahin? Thanks
Our agent is called Stephen van de Merwe from Stonehead Property. He was awesome, highly recommend. His number is +66 910033283

🇵🇸❤️❤️❤️
I've been to Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket. Hua Hin is chill vs. other 2 for sure. If you're married and have kids, Hua Hin is amazing.
Thanks for your comment, I think you are absolutely correct.
Sorry I am half a sleep phuket was so cheap 23 years ago but I think it’s a rip off now to many tourist
Some things are still great value, but yes you are correct that there’s a lot that’s expensive
Hua Hin 100% better than Phuket for Westerners, the British are loving hua hin 🎉
Yes it's a lovely vibe for sure.
Hi Lulu love watching your video first time subscriber my husband likes pickle ball. Also thank you for sharing. We will be coming to Thailand in November. He is also looking for Pickleball ! He would like to know if hau hun has indoor Pickleball 😘
Thanks for your lovely feedback, I'm glad you have enjoyed the video! Yes there is indoor pickleball in Hua Hin. We played at the T Rex sport club - they are repurposed badminton courts, so not dedicated pickleball courts. They play a few times a week. You can visit their facebook page here and message directly. facebook.com/profile.php?id=100068094476586 - If you are visiting Phuket there are several places you can play... most of them are outdoor courts though.
Thank you for responding back ! how do you like Wahin?❤
@@roxannebenden4837 How do we like Hua Hin? We loved it, but we are happiest in Phuket for now.
Will be there in November for a month . We’re going Bangkok, hua hin , Phuket . So in order to live in Thailand we have to live near pickleball courts so my husband can play . lol would love to meet you guys and thanks again
Nice video and I love your accent.
Thank you! 😃
Sorry , but you cannot compare Phuket with Huahin , or can you compare beer with wine ?
Thanks for watching and commenting. I am assuming that Phuket is beer and Hua Hin is wine? 😉
Loved the villa tours
May i ask how far from might they be
How far from town? About 10 minutes from the main area.
Great video - would you mind sharing the real estate agent that showed you the properties?
Absolutely! Our agent is called Stephen van de Merwe from Stonehead Property. He was awesome, highly recommend. His number is +66 910033283
