Guy Tang do the perms still work even if you have a wavy texture? Or does the hair have to be naturally straight?
you can perm any type of hair formation, with wavy hair it can help control the waves, change the pattern to something more desirable for the client or smooth it with a straight perm treatment. its very versatile!

I really wish I could myself.. I love Guy Tangs videos. But I'm a 49 year old (or 24.5 x 2 giggle) and havent had my hair cut in like 8 years or so. dont know what hair style would look good for me. I think Id be a challenge for em lol..
I agree with your philosophy on perms. Too many people have negative connotations with the word perm.

I love the assymetric cut but those bangs remind me of priests from the Middle Ages-ish period where they'd shave the top of their head and leave the rest shaped like her bangs...

I have really long hair and I've always been curious about perms but after seeing this I totally want one! I think this style of perming makes it more accessible to newer generations. :) great way to break the stereotype of perms!

Vanna I really thought after the 90's I would never want another perm...lol but this is gorgeous and my hair tends to be wavy or curly but doesn't behave. It is a mixture of wavy and tight curls. So I either straighten it or curl but the curl doesn't last or gets frizzy. I think this is perfect for me! 😊❤

I have a hair clipper at home and while my hair is long now (between my shoulder blades), a few years ago I completely buzzed my hair and I loved it! I was tired of having to put it up all the time for work. I got compliments on my super short hair and felt good with it. Whether I have long or short hair, I do it for me. I don't do it for anybody else. Right now, my goal is to try to get my hair longer than it has been in my life and right now I am right at that border. I am hoping all the way down my back. I might do short again later on, but right now I'm in the long stage.
Love the perm and love the cut! I am a grandma and great grandma.. But, I always had short hair. Now it is long and I have fun with color! Thank you Guy for a great entertaining and great tutorial on perm and cut! Love your perm too!! You are amazing. Love you!!
I am so glad guy is down with the perms. I've been giving myself my own perms for years and no one would even know because I don't do it the traditional poodle way. My family can't believe I actually have a perm in my hair because it doesn't look damaged or frizzy. When I tell people I'm going to get supplies to get a perm people tell me "Don't do it!! You'll ruin your hair!" Even if I explain I've had one for years! It's crazy!

Literally a dream to have Guy Tang colour my hair, and now I also want a perm like this to give me a curly, bouncy style😍 my hair is verrrrry long and the ends are awful , my hair is very very straight naturally and won't hold a normal curl for more than a few hours most times, so that type of perm would be amazing for me to not have to curl my hair 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I'm obsessed

So story , I'm in cosmetology at my high school so i just finished 20&21 for cosmetology and when we were doing hair cutting my teacher came up to me and "you know some hairdressers just do hair colouring.. you may wanna consider that." &a I took all my hair colouring techniques from watching you so maybe you can help me ❤️
I've had hair down to my waist and I've had hair as short as an inch all over and I personally prefer my hair longer. My hair grows really fast so the upkeep for short haircuts was just too much for me to afford and manage. With long hair i don't have to worry about that as much. Love the variety of lengths and styles that women rock!!!

I had a friend in college, she was gorgeous and a model. One day she decided to just cut her hair SUPER short. It looked so fabulous and edgy on her, really amped up her modelling career. Except everyone in our town kept asking her if she was a lesbian now. Wtf?! I just don't get why people say these things. So stupid

@GuyTang, how long does this process last? Does it have to grow out like a traditional perm, or does it gradually become looser until the curls lose their formation? It turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!

I'm a perm lifer too. I usually get a spiral wrap. My hair dresser uses 3 sizes of regular perm rods (not those long ones, hate those) to wrap it. It takes longer but gives an awesome and natural result. Everyone is always shocked when I say its a perm.
Is this product available any where in the US? I am so interested in trying this on several clients. So much better than what was taught in beauty school.

Idk what to do for can explain her that just one decoloration is not that bad when u search the correct people :c
btw, my hair is "virgin", just have been dyed with normal tintures without decoloration and I just want an orange/red kind of tone.

+GUY How long does this last and does her hair look like this ALL THE TIME NATURALLY and did you curl it at all? I'm really confused about why you would do this process when you could just do this look with a curling iron. Also you say that you have a perm in your hair when it looks exactly the same(sorry I'm not being rude) as your normal hair style with some product in it . I absolutely l❤ve the cut✂ My hair is grown out (a lot) from spiked all over and the front longer. I think I might get the same cut,(with no bangs, or at least not SO SHORT) but kinda afraid because I have a very full face and my hair was very short, Actually I went from my hair down to the top of my but to the spiked style 😲😲

sue nana it's a perm that he did. Permanent. She will get curls like that every time she showers. He's the same way. He no longer has to curl it every day. No heat anymore. No damage.
