    Thank you for showing what the perm looks like after three days of getting it! That's something that UA-camrs miss a lot when talking about their experience with getting a perm

    Awesome video, thanks Cedric. Reallly boosted my confidence in going for a perm. Was it 3 separate times under the dryer??

    Hey Cedric, so I stumbled apon your perm videos awhile back and I am not approaching the time frame to get my first perm. I'm doing it after Halloween cause my Halloween costume needs my hair to be straight, so I'm likely going to do it early to mid November. I have a few questions about how I can use this time to prepare my hair for my perm.
    As of right now my hair health isn't amazing, my hair products aren't bad they're fine, but my problem is my hair is hyper straight and very weak similar to how you describe your natural hair, and I curl my hair with heat to style it and get the curls I like and I've been doing this for a good amount of time, probably 4ish months, and I do this not daily, but anywhere from 3-5 times a week, and to add onto this I live in Florida and it is always very hot and humid, so not only do my curls barely last a full day, but my hair is always dry and just feels awful to touch, even if I style it and it looks good. My shampoo and conditioner is nothing fancy and isn't made to improve strength or re add moisture, and the styling products I do use are just basic standard stuff like sea salt spray and maybe a high hold clay in some areas if I need it. My haircut looks good when styled, but when natural it's totally flat super long bowlcut.
    Anyway finishing with the context now, I'd like to spend the next month or so just not bothering with styling my hair and doing my normal stuff, and really focusing on strengthening my hair and making the hair I have nice so it is a better experience for myself and everyone else when I do get it permed. I just bought some nice biotin shampoo and conditioner that I used to use when I grew my hair out for a year and a half and those were great so I re purchased them, and I am going to remove all heat treatment if my hair for the next month to aid in making my hair healthy even if I have to look a little ugly during this time, frankly all I really do is work and that's it so I don't need to look like the handsome devil I am so I'm not concerned with not looking amazing. To get the monologuing out of the way and get down to my questions, do you have any suggestions of what else I can do to help improve my hair for my first perm, and would you suggest I use any of the products from your second main perming video PRIOR to getting my perm? Or would there be no point to that?
    Lastly I'm unsure if you have any experience with this, but because I haven't been prioritizing my hair health as of recent, my front hairs on my hairline break frequently, they stay short, and if I just shower and dry my hair, although my hair feels great and very dense, the fibers themselves are so thin you can kinda see right through and makes me look like I'm balding even though I'm not. I used minoxidil and derma rolling in the past to grow out my beard and that worked very well, and I did an insane amount of research on minoxidil so I know exactly what I'm doing, and I'd like to use minoxidil and derma rolling on my hairline to help accelerate my hair growth in that area and rebuild the strength it needs. I already know everything I need to do this prior to the perm, my question is, do you know anything about using minoxidil WITH a perm. I'm going to look into it anyway, but if you have any sacred knowledge about that I'd greatly appreciate hearing it.
    Thanks for these videos, they basically sold me on getting my perm and I am looking forward to it, also thanks for responding to other people's comments in past videos, I was reading through those earlier today looking for answers for other questions I had and sure enough you answered them because someone else had the same questions. Thanks again.

    I got a korean perm last monday and washed it two days ago. I used curl shampoo and conditioner but when i styled and let my hair air dry it had less volume than before i took the shower, is it because i didn’t incorporate any product? If so, which ones do you recommend for more volume?

    • @cedricpham
      @cedricpham  Рік тому +1

      that is something I still am figuring out. right now I put the post shower products in my hair while damp and then go to sleep and it gives me a lot more volume when I wake up in the morning

      You can just use a hairdryer with a gentle air attachment/diffuser. And you should try not to go to bed with damp hair as it runs the risk of scalp infection since bacteria thrives on moisture

    My brother and cousin used pineapple juice to get permanent wavy hair when they were teenagers. And 15 years later they are still wavy.. I wanted to try but I was afraid because my cousin's hair were more curly than wavy not like my brother's and she hated it till today 😂

    Question! Do they shampoo your hair at the salon at the very end after they put in the neutralizer? Or do they just rinse w water, no shampoo or conditioner after? I just got my first perm and the guy seemed to know what he was doing, but at the very end, after letting the neutralizer set for a few minutes, they shampooed my hair and i was so confused.....?

    do you think you'll ever go back to your natural, straight hair?

    • @cedricpham
      @cedricpham  Рік тому

      I might but my hair is pretty weak, or it just doesn't work well with clays pomades gels and hairspray. I tried so much over the years but It never holds whatever shape I would give it with straight hair. I would probably go back to straight if I needed to for modeling or if my hair is deemed unhealthy because of perming
