Congratulations on your new investment. Can't wait to see it in action plowing snow off sidewalks. Bundle up!
It's definitely a cold ride lol.
Thank you for getting back hope to get the used 2 yard jcb 416 with a 12/8 metal plies about 52 k in Chicago we get obout 5-8 2 inch events i am trying to get a seasonal for this machine .i do town home wit two small John Deere plows took two years to pay off thi is first year in 8 seasons to get flush worried to pay off I am getting 66 years old i love snow but love money more started plowing in 1978 quite worked steady in brick businesses then recession came got out started snow again i 2011 thanks for any help
We use those things to spread fertilizer and spray weeds. Nice to see one on with a plow
It works great with snow. The only drawback using it in the winter is the operator is exposed to the elements and it gets brutally cold.
I'm kinda jealous your buying all the equipment i'm hoping to buy in my future snow removal business but it takes time but i would suggest looking into purchasing a Ventrac if you don't want to be exposed to the elements of winter while your doing your sidewalks. Ventrac's also articulate like your cat front end loader dose but please keep on posting videos can't believe you haven't got any snow yet iv'e plowed so many times in upstate NH,VT.
@Daryl Brooks Thanks for watching & commenting. I did look at the Ventrac's and unfortunately it was not the right sized machine, it was too big for my application. Also they are almost $40,000 😱. I only paid $14,000 for the snowrator.
That's cool how you have a storage container for your equipment 🤔
It works great. I'm renting it right now, will probably buy a used one next year.
Love your channel you should try out the snow Rhino
You must b scaring the snow away with all the new equipment! ❄ 😅
Looks like some thought has gone into design of that Snowrator, and that is an ideal site to make use of it.
Hopefully they have built a quality unit for what it costs.
@Grumpy Yeah no kidding. Seems like I am scaring the winter away. I hope the quality is there too. I had looked at the Ventrac SSV and it's nice but is it worth 60% more??
@@SnowBoss The salt drop box on front and the bins on the back full of salt will add alot to the machine I bet.
The extra weight will be a good thing all around .
@@grumpy1311 Agreed
I finally met a guy who is doing it right I hope Landlords see Chris is effort an is paying him right he can handle the big storms
👍
This is how you do snow I'm in New York an never met Chris so take notes from his Videos
If you can make landlords pay for Salt you got it made They can write it off
@@johnnydecola8161 70% of our revenue is from salt. We don't plow much here.
Ok I need to sell salt an load other guys after snow storms to make extra money it's worth it
Xristo, that thing is Stupid Dope Fresh Bud!! Man oh man, it has so many features!! You can run granular in it and do spot treatment with the wand!! One of the coolest things I've seen. Now you just need some mad Xioni to put it in action!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!Oh, P.S. How about wiring in heated hand grips on the handles. You can prob. use ATV style heated grips and use tape wrap to cover them up onto the handles. Prob. real simple to wire in also. Just my 2 cents Bud.
Heated hand grips sounds like an idea. Eventually it will snow. All these fun toys and nothing to do with them lol.
@@SnowBoss glad I could help!! Snow will come sooner or later👍👍👍
That's the only way to do walks What it needs is a Shovel holder for touch ups
It has one. The operator uses it all the time 👍
Didn't see it Sorry
@@johnnydecola8161 No worries lol
Keep up the good work it's nice to show snow managerment nobody see what goes on behind the scenes
@@johnnydecola8161 Thanks
What type of production rate are you getting with this unit both for pre treat and plowing? I’m looking at getting one but am curious of the production rate so I can effectively plan for this season
For pre-treat we get about 10,000 sf out of the liquid tank and we can do 2,000 LF x 5' wide sidewalks in about 20 min. For plowing, it all depends. Anything over 6" at a time and it starts to struggle. But if would say it takes about an hour for that same 10,000sf. But there are a lot of variables at each site.
Can you use the rear spreader with the Snowrator? I see it used with the SR Mag, but not the Snowrator.
No not with the snowrator.
Let it snow so you can get it to work 💲💲
Yes please 😊
Why did you upgrade to the poly blade? Thanks for the cool info videos!
Sure, the metal edge on concrete leaves the rust streaks and the customer requires poly edges on the sidewalks. Good question 👍.
Thanks for posting this video! I'm a small 2 man crew who uses snow blowers only. Do you think this can handle clearing a 10 car lot?
A small storm probably, would just take a while. But anything over 4" and probably not. It's meant for sidewalks not really lots.
Ok thanks.
Are you still using the Ally RTU? I just got a snowrator and have never used liquid before. Looking for tips and what you thought about pre treatment of your walks. My contract is seasonal priced.
Yes we still use the Ally. It works for pre treatment and then we use CMA salt in the drop spreader as post treatment.
In our market we have a lot of big guys 1000 men some of them a cat926 and sectional is about 3500 so i figure labor ins and machine 16000 min a month to break even without prof so that would take 4 years to pay off without profit
What.?…. Make some sense of your statement?
How has this unit performed this year? I know its primary is for sidewalks but can it handle smaller residential driveways? Single drive upwards of 60-70 feet? I'd hate to spend $15K and it not be useful. I like the idea of the Snowrator over a four wheeler because of the zero turn and no forward/reverse and or 3 point turns. Thanks in advance.
We like it. It does mostly sidewalks but they also use it around the warehouse for curb cleanup and dock cleanouts
How did it do this year with heavy snow? Still recommend getting one?
It worked great! In the correct application it is highly recommended. I would say it's only limitation is anything over 8" it doesn't like. However we always work with the storm so we don't let that much accumulate.
Be nice to have a snowblower and sweeper attachment
Agreed. Ventrac makes the same machine but with interchangeable attachments. At the time I didn't want spend double on the machine. I paid $14K for this machine. The Ventrac with attachments was $28K
@@SnowBoss we don’t have any Ventrac dealers around. Not sure my Boss dealer sells that machine either :(
Thank You I'm looking at a SR Mag Boss with a snowblower. I only have 20 lawns I'm 69 dont care to do more so I'm not looking to take from any guys . Friends You all are to me. I'm afraid to go into debt this much but I could take care of A few good customers. I wont make what it cost at first but maybe I'll pick up a few driveways to do that. I'm wondering if I could do a small parking lot with it What do You think?
What's the differance to a Snow rador to A SR Mag? Mine I put a snowblower on it 48inch . I wish there was more information on it how its works . The videos are to sell it not to teach us. Will this snowblower do my customers driveways?
I don't have any experience with the MAG. Only thing I have heard is that a lot of guys have had a lot of issues with them.
Does it have any trouble pushing snow? Like do you feel it kind of bog down at all?
Nope. This thing has been pushing snow all day today, no problems.
@@SnowBoss that’s awesome man, do you ever wish it went a little faster??
@@therenegade5803 Honestly no. I really find it unsafe already. It really gets bucking sometimes like a skid steer and can be very uncontrollable.
How many linear feet can 20 gallons treat and what liquid do you use?
About 2500 LF and we use a product called Ally RTU Liquid Ice Melt Powered by Entry
Your going to think I'm crazy but I find people who walk in snow don't fall so sometimes holding off on walks helps Slip n fall insurance is crazy in NY once I touch walks Im liable
reminds me of a Toro Dingo
They are longer and narrower than that.
A little, but the dingo is more heavy duty I think.
@@SnowBoss they’ve discontinued the snowblower for the dingo.
Do they make a baby Metalpless for snowrator ?
Haha that would be funny but no.
That would be cool u got to admit that
Think they would have heated handles and foot pad like a snowmobile
I agree 1000%
How did snowrator perform? Are they worth the money? Thanks. We are in the Midwest (Kansas City, MO) but get enough snow.
Unfortunately we had the lowest snow total year on record 5.3" for the entire winter. I only got to use it once. Four foot wide sidewalk open straight away very good. Fast, I cleared a 400' sidewalk and laid down liquid all in one pass in
@@SnowBoss can you get a windshield?
@@danlux4954 No and it's definitely an issue. It's cold.
what is the price of the machine with the blade
The whole setup with drop spreader was about $14,500
What’s the total cost with upgrades? I’d like one.
All in I paid just under $14000. I think they went up a little since I bought mine last year.
@@SnowBoss amazing. Thanks so much.
Get the sr mag and sell me that one 😂
Lol, maybe, you need it?
@@SnowBoss yeah I’m gonna most likely try and grab one the mag is 20 grand easy with a decent set up. And people are selling the snow rator used for what they cost new ones 2019 lol
Where i can buy
Site One sells them or a boss dealer.
Ventrac ssv a better bang for your buck
Not really because you pay for it. Its a better machine if you want attachments. But in the end its double the price. I paid $14K for this setup. The Ventrac SSV with attachments was $28K when I was looking.
Snowrators are so slow! We built a custom mount for a SCAG V RIDE 2 and mounted a BOSS 5’6” v-plow on it. Not that thing is productive
Agree its slow. But with the drop spreader and the liquid tank is the bread and butter of what we do and when its plowing it might be slow but its unstoppable.
Can’t fit gear that big in many places
@@PS-zw4yc we have big places 🤣
