I'm not an alcoholic bloke, I'm a porn addict, love. As soon as you said that "it's the key to unlock the door, once we unlock the door..." I got it straight away, yeah? When I told myself I was gonna chuck the porn habit, I didn't have the bottle to do the hard work of self-reflection and question myself, like, "How's porn been affecting me in areas like spirituality, finances, relationships, family, work, and me mental health, and all that?" Instead, I just stuck with the intention and never followed through. So, yeah, that's where I'm at. But honestly, I think the real struggle is facing your true self. This is a long-haul journey, and it's not gonna be a quick fix or a one-off deal. It's a constant battle. Making a decision to quit is just the starting line, love.
Well that’s some solid self-awareness. Nice one on that bit of clarity! Can’t build anything worthwhile without solid foundations, so that’s a pretty damn good place to be. Guess we better get stuck in then eh 🙌🏼
@@recoverywithme Yeah, exactly! I'm with you, Mikaela! Sobriety without awareness is like trying to cook a hearty plate of rice without any actual rice, innit? I reckon one of the main reasons folks dodge self-assessment and self-awareness is 'cause it's a right scary and daunting prospect. You gotta face up to your deepest probs and then tackle 'em one step at a time. Sorry if I'm yappin' on too much, love. Cheers for listenin' to my ramblings, and thanks for takin' the time to read me comments. Cheers again!
