    Never been to this area. Another great spot you have found. Looks like a good spring campout. Ride my bike, kayak, and do some hiking before the summer heat. Thanks, you are giving me new options to go camp in my Sprinter. Loved the night-time time lapse.

    This is great, I was at the lake last Monday and Tuesday, from the Leslie gulch side. Epic. Want to go back and get on the water!!
    Also, voice is very soothing, and your videography is beautiful!

    I live on the lower Owyhee river and grew up on the lake. Just for info the road to the dam and the tunnel is the old railroad bed used during the construction of the dam.
    I really enjoyed your video it's my home.

    Very nice video of a truly magical place, that brought back fond memories of our 2-month stay as camp hosts a few years ago.

    Another lovely video. I particularly like your clear directions as well as your calm voice. I too have a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak I hope you get as much pleasure out of yours as I do mine.

      Oh thank you! Yes, I think an inflatable kayak can provide access to interesting places and sights that would otherwise be missed. And it can simply be fun to be out on the water.

    Another very interesting video! Never been to that lake, but was in that area more than once. If you get back there again, there's a nice little BLM campground at Antelope Reservoir. It's about twenty-eight miles almost due south of the south tip of the lake and just south of US95. Safe travels!

      Yes, a great area. I suppose that once water stops flowing out through the glory hole, the river drops a lot.

    Beautiful area and beautiful video. I spent a week there last year camping and fishing. Isn't the dam at the north end of the lake?
    I enjoy your videos. Thanks.

    What iis the height of the tunnel? Can a normal travel trailer go through it? Really love your videos. Keep up the good work!

    • @northwestcampervantravels7248
      @northwestcampervantravels7248  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for positive view. There is plenty of height for a travel trailer in the tunnel. People bring big Class A RVs to the campground, but I would think it might be a tight fit for the really big RVs if they met someone on the more narrow parts of the road.

      Thanks for the positive feedback. I was there 2 weeks ago. Time is year for visiting is an important factor. This area gets quite hot during the summer.

    Nice video. Can a class c motorhome make it safely on the roads you showed?

    • @northwestcampervantravels7248
      @northwestcampervantravels7248  4 місяці тому

      Thanks for the positive feedback. The road is narrow and in some sections there is a steep drop off on one side. That said, later in my visit I saw a couple of trailers come into the park. The McCormack campground hosts apparently drove a big class A RV into the park. So it can be done. I am rather cautious and I would probably be nervous driving a long and wide vehicle into the park.

    I don't see those two campgrounds on Google Maps? A search shows Spring Creek and McCormick at other locations in eastern Oregon.

    • @northwestcampervantravels7248
      @northwestcampervantravels7248  4 місяці тому +3

      First I apologize about my error in saying "Spring Creek Campground". The two campgrounds at Lake Owyhee State Park are "Indian Creek Campground" and "McCormack Campground". Both "Indian Creek" and "McCormack" campgrounds are indeed located in Lake Owyhee State Park. For some reason Google maps doesn't do well if you just search for Lake Owyhee State Park and then zoom in on the park to find the campgrounds. Fortunately it does fine at finding the park. If you search for "Indian Creek Campground Lake Owyhee state park" in google maps it will find the correct campground. Oregon State Parks has a brochure for Lake Owyhee State Park which shows the location of both campgrounds. You can find the brochure on the Oregon State Parks website.

    Are drones typically allowed in Oregon State Parks?

    • @northwestcampervantravels7248
      @northwestcampervantravels7248  4 місяці тому +2

      It varies. Some of the state parks at the coast prohibit drones to protect nesting birds. At Smith Rock State Park in central Oregon, drones are prohibited part of the year to protect raptor nesting. There can be other reasons like proximity to an airport, for instance at South Beach State Park. It is always important to check.

    I can do without the added water lapping on the shoreline noise.
    No need for it at all, and you can do better

      @@festeCanuck even better still , there's lots of really horrendous generic , digital ( A.I.?) "music" that hurts one's ears , but is free , so lots of toobers use it............... good gawd , imagine complaining about the sound of water in an outdoor film
