I took 2 books, a flashlight, a lantern, a revolver, my sleeping bag, a small cooler of food and my 2 dogs. My sent was about a 6 b 6 square with about a 3 foot wall. Some lightweight and compact cinema glasses (100-150g) would be ideal. This video has some great stuff! It's been only 3 months since it came out, but the prices on some of these items has gone up considerably. The biggest selling points that got ne to click on the video was the cheap and small solar gear. The most attractive item for me was the Suncase Gear Solar Lighter. I already added one to my Anazon cart!
I’m sure I’m thinking the same thing many are, that is, lot of these products are impractical and just novelty items for someone with disposable cash to use once or twice and throw in the basement.
What your portable propane fireplaces fail to mention and in fact lie about is that they are not safer for the forest because when camping responsibly, you pick up twigs and debris in the forest to burn at your campfire, so you are cleaning up the forest and preventing wildfires. Have you seen a propane canister explode? Rare, but it happens. I use a portable campfire without propane. Help keep the forests clean and be responsible. Always have water and a shovel nearby.
While I love the idea of a huge inflatable tent, I feel like they would be subject to the same problem as inflatable air mattresses: When the air is warm, they are nice and rigid. When the air cools down, like in the middle of the night, they go flat. Had this problem so many times I don't even use inflatable anything for camping anymore. Even the inflatable paddle board has to be pumped up again after it sits on the lake for a little while and the water cools it down. Then when you take it out of the water, it warms up so you have to be sure to let out some air so it doesn't rip a seam. Again, love the IDEA of inflatables, but practically speaking, I haven't had reliable luck.
Love these vids but lets be honest, the only ones that would use most of these items are glampers who have to have their mod cons at all times and wouldnt survive a night in the bush without these items.
Can a tent stop a bear attack? No. Therefore a tent is really a worthless product. It can keep you “dry” relatively speaking… great. Can it keep you warm, or safe from falling tree limbs, or aforementioned bear attacks, or excessive heat? No? A small trailer would be a better investment if a person is planning on dropping $2,000 or $3,000 on a shelter (I.e. a 2mm thick tent).
The dookan and Homura Fire Tongs might be nice. Blackcan is as far I'm willing to go. Would be nice when it's colder weather. Paxis bacpack is nice, but has extra weight because of the metal.
