Great camera work.
David, thanks for watching.
Beautiful video, and you have a great voice!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thank you very much. Not only was it well done and enjoyable, but I'm about two hours away. Next spring I plan to take a trip there.
Sounds great!
💝💝💝
Thanks, glad you liked the video!
The Air Force used to conduct their dessert survival school portion for their Survival Instructors here for years.
Interesting, thanks for the info.
The Ireland of the Oregon coast.
Very nice videography. Thank you for sharing this beautiful area of Oregon. I need to make trip over the mountain and check out that area.
Thanks. I hope you enjoy visiting this area.
just 5-10 minutes off the freeway but no noise. Good cell phone signal. The first parking area (with view of waterfall) has some wicked rocks and a steep entry (i made it with a lifted Promaster) . Popular after concerts at the Gorge. btw- this is all BLM land, no Discovery Pass needed.
Thanks for the info. Yes, the area which is closer to I-90 and northeast of "feathers" and has a steep entry isn't posted as requiring a Washington Discover pass. To be clear though, the area where I camped and the area immediately adjacent to "feathers" is within the Quincy Lakes Wildlife Area, administered by the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and does require a Discover pass.
You’re a braver man than I, going down that road to camp!
Ron, thanks for the comment. Entry into the camp is a bit rough, but even with the modest road clearance of my van is was OK.
I reaaly liked the night sky time lapse. I need to get out somewhere where I can see stars.
LOVE Frenchman Coulee!!!
Yes, it's great!
First of your videos I’ve seen. I really enjoyed it. I’ll be checking out your past videos too. Thank you!
Thanks for the nice comment and your interest in my videos. I hope you enjoy them.
I worked for a diatomaceous earth mine that operates just off silica road. Needless to say I'm quite familiar with this area. 👍
Thanks for sharing. I don't know about the job, but it would seem that the commute would be better than what most of us put up with.
Along old US 10, before the I90 bridge was built. There used to be a bridge there, across the Columbia. Nice astrophotography.
Thanks for the info and the nice comment.
As if this place isnt alredy way overcrowded.....
Agree. It used to be uncrowded, but social media ended that, as it has for a lot of places.
Great video and nice editing. Loved how you replaced the drone whine with other audio
Thanks, glad you like it.
Jameson Lake in the Moses Coulee is pretty cool.
Thanks for the suggestion, looks interesting.
Nice video production.
Much appreciated, thanks.
Great video! The view of the lake about 12:00 through all the yellow flowers was absolutely fantastic! I stayed at Merrill way back in September, 2008. I had a great view of the lake from the back of my camper with no trees at all blocking it. Keep 'em coming
Thanks for the nice comment.
Is there anything alive there?
It is definitely a very sparse landscape. The sage brush and grasses are alive. I saw a few rabbits. Interestingly, for much of the time, it was one of the more quiet places I have visited. I would occasionally hear a bird song or a flock of geese passing over. Of course, there is sound when a car goes by on the road. When you get close, there is the sound of the waterfall. But otherwise, it was often very quiet.
You may be surprised how much wildlife is there.
@@northwestcampervantravels7248 In the Spring, it can be vibrantly green, with plenty of flowers in the nooks and crannies
In April and May the wildflowers there are beautiful. By late June though they are going dormant - only receive about 8" of precipitation. 🙂
We were in eastern Washington in July going by Soap Lake (where add Ivory Soap to the water!!), Grand Coulee Dam etc. We were going to go over the North Cascades highway but at Twisp we had to turn around because of a forest fire and go back south to Wenatchee and Stevens pass.
Thanks for the info about your trip. I have just begun visiting central Washington. It seems that there are so many interesting places to see in the area.
@@northwestcampervantravels7248 Yes there are. We live in Idaho now. I did post a video on Utube about trip.
Another beautiful video of northwest!
Many thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I enjoy your videos. I would like to go traveling before I get too old. Thanks for the inspiration Aloha🤙
Thanks, go for it! I love visiting beautiful places in the outdoors. Mahalo
Thank you for another great video. We were at Steamboat Rock park couple of weeks ago and it was our first visit to this part of WA. The geology of eastern WA is truly an amazing wonder. I am looking to get a drone and If u don't mind me asking what model drone do u use.
Your nice comment is very much appreciated. I have been using a DJI Mini 3 Pro for some time and I think it is really good. DJI makes several nice drones, I don't think you can go wrong with any of their drones that fit your budget. I just recently added a Hoverair X1. The Hoverair is useful for quickly grabbing shots of walking or biking. It is very compact and doesn't need to a controller making it quite convenient for some kinds of shots.
Nicely done more of our beautiful state to explore
Thanks, yes it is a great place to visit!
Geology, man. Try again.
Thank you for this!
My pleasure! Glad you liked it.
Glad I came across your channel!
Welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Great video, can’t wait to visit and now I know what to expect! Love the ride around the lake, looks like fun. Do you know if it’s open in the winter too?
Thanks for the nice comment. I think that the campgrounds close for the winter. But the resort is open and people come to the area for skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
@@northwestcampervantravels7248 Thanks for that info :)
I wonder how the fishing is there?
From a distance I saw some people catch fish, but don't really know about the fishing. The river does seem to attract a lot people who come to it for the fishing.
Nice video
Thanks, glad you like it.
What you did not check out the graves on Battle Rock ??
Another awesome UA-cams strong work hombre.
Thanks, glad you like it.
Good one, the time lapses are pretty cool. I did wind up staying at Humbug Mtn on my way South in August, btw. And yep, that's a nice campground.
Thanks, glad you liked the time lapse videos. I am also glad that Humbug Mtn was a good campground for you.
I love these videos, it teaches me more about the beautiful state i live in. Thanks for these!! This is giving me national geographic vibes.
Glad you like them! Thanks for the very nice comment.
Wonderful video. Thank you. I know getting out there in nature is about unplugging but do you know if there was cell connection at that campground? I'm an artist and tend to go off and paint while my husband would love to sit by the river and read. It's peace of mind for him (and me) to know where I'm walking to next.
Thanks for the positive feedback. I had a good cell connection. I think that the proximity to Warm Springs, basically just around the corner, probably accounts for the cell phone signal.
I love the Deschutes area. Such a good option when it's too snowy in the mountains. I was at Trout Creek a while back. Feels really out there. Either side of Maupin is great camping as well. This looks beautiful. I'll make it my next trip back. Thanks for your videos. I alway enjoy them.
Yes, the Deschutes canyon is a great place! Thanks for the comment.
Another very interesting video! I've done a lot of camping along US26 S of Mount Hood. Surprised I haven't been to Mecca Flat before. Will definitely check it out if I'm in the area again. Safe travels!
Nice to hear from you Ralph, thanks for the comment.
Very interesting video about a very beautiful and interesting area. I really enjoyed it, thank you for taking us along and giving us your thoughts on the area. See you on your next video.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!
Cool. I was there last week. I didn't know there was a trail there. I'll check that out next time i'm there. Nice star time lapse's. Andromeda galaxy and Pleiades were quite noticeable in that last one.
We were probably there at the same time. Thanks for the nice comments. In the last star video, I like seeing Orion come up from the right side of the horizon towards morning.
A beautiful place. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, it is a lovely area. Thanks for the nice comment.
Great video with excellent drone work. Well done!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Wish we never moved away from there but to many of the Cali people F'ed up Cen. Oregon. so had to get.
Great video, always love your presentation of the campsites and surrounding trails/paths. Thank you!
Glad you like them! Thanks for watching and the nice comment.
I want to go back!
Good idea, me too!
We always stay at the RV park in Milford, south of Susanville. Have stayed at Eagle Lake also. Beautiful area!
Thanks for the info.
You have a good narration voice. how easy is it to park for free overnight along the coast in july and august. i have a van I want to camp in next Summer. The heat bothers me, so just looking to stay cool in the hottest months.
The Oregon coast is a good way to beat the heat in the summer. I don't really have good information about free places, I almost always stay in established campgrounds on public land. I suspect that the best possibilities would be dispersed camping in the Siuslaw National Forest or other national or state forests. Something I intend to explore more in the future.
Wow this video is crystal clear. I felt like I was there with you. I lived in this area from 1979-87. 4th grade through 11th grade
Thanks for the nice comment.
which site were you in?

Nice video and love how your voice sounds so soothing and calm.
Oh thank you!
