My new next door neighbour seen me moving all my model stuff in to the new house and he came over to talk model's, don't think he's had much opportunity to speak to a real modeller in person much but what he did do is said " i have a TAMYIA BF109 AMD A TAMYIA Lancaster i'll never build do I want them"? I asked "what are you looking for them"? He turned around and said " no I'm asking if you would like them, I don't want anything for them"?! So I have this kit sitting here now in the stash I'll buy him a couple pints that should make up for the price anyway haha! Absolutely shocked what a nice man he is! Modeller's just have one of the best attitudes and outlooks on life once they get hooked on the hobby it certainly changed me!

My brother purchased the Gotha over a year ago. He has been out of modeling for decades and that kit has almost broken him 😂. He has had some struggles to say the least. Absolutely beautiful kits. However, not for the inexperienced or impatient among us. They require a lot of planning, forethought and out of the box jig design. Not due to their quality but because of their accurate and precise design, engineering. Some of the most attractive kits when done with respect. I know you will do them proud 👍
Hi Peter, I am wondering why the WNW Hansa-Brandenburg kits are going for the highest prices compared to the other WNW kits on the secondary market? Aside from the Gotha IV that is. Would you know?
These were the later kits produced by Wingnuts and some would say the ones that killed the golden goose? I started collecting the WNW as soon as they came out and got one of every kit. I have quite a few duplicates too. I have a pleasant dilemma now - keep or build?

The wing nut kits look real quality even by just judging by the PDF instructions. You could sell them and have a nice holiday with wife or a couple of bottles of vintage champagne ;-)

Would love to see you build one of these kits, although I'd go for the Camel because ruining that collection of black box fighter ace kits by building the Richtofen or the Goering would send my very mild OCD through the roof haha! I have the roland CII,but with the just white 'whalefish' decal scheme,i almost got the Halberstadt but seller backed out.That was before went bankrupt too.I thought the 'fighter ace' LE kit's was a strategy to sell to modellers who weren't as knowledgeable about aircraft but would have heard of national aces.Pricing seemed part of strategy too.Bankruptcy changes everything though.And OCD can highlight what most functioning idiots miss completely.

Pension funds should invest in Wingnut Wing kits. Seems to be a safer investment than the stockmarket or cypto. I picked up my first and only Wingnut Wing kit the other day off the MBK sale. A Hansa Brandeburg W.13. Feels like I own something really special.
My favourite Shaxberd play,"Do thy worst,i fart at thee!" are the opening lines of Ben Johnson's 'The Alchemist' a comedy far funnier than anything the 'bard' wrote.Luckily i have the late AEG and Roland CII (whalefish) in Boxes still,would love the sea plane but not love the rigging.That litte 'DFW'? looks like a tidy little biplane.Thankyou for another chance to pat myself on back.And kick myself for not being greedy.
I bought a WNW Gotha G IV from a private buyer here in NZ for $112NZ!!!!!! That was a few years ago. I sold it for 550 2 years ago. If I had sold it today I could have added 1000 and still sell it.

As I've said many a time before, the golden era of aviation is severely underrepresented, unfortunately....🥺😥 That Lancaster kit looks interesting....maybe invest in one (for my retirement obviously), for the future as you do, right? Wingnuts went under as a modeler of fifty years thinking was WW1 planes are small. I/24 would have saved it. You don't think about room when you buy it. You give the 1/16 0ption as well. The winner in sales is to give four option scales on a kit. Comes in four sizes. 1/48 for men with grouchy wives. 1/32 and 1/24 for the bigger feel. I/16 for the maniac Tim the tool man. That I think would take the risk out. A 1/200 Bismark would outsell 1/100 got to buy it seven feet long yaw baby. Why make the perfect model airplane only in 1/32. Keeps me away right away. Never gave me size option. My 1/100 Bismark is too small will I ever do all that Pontos. Twenty percent chance. LOL
I thought WNW kits were more expensive, originally. Probably influenced by the price they sell for now. Nice stash, the piggy bank will have taken a bashing.

I suppose i'm very lucky, or at least my wallet is very lucky that I have no interest whatsoever in Wing Nut Wings kits. I'm not really that interested in Aeroplanes, not really interested in WWI aeroplanes, I cannot seem to raise any enthusiasm at all for WNW kits. The only good thing I can see is the investment value......oh well ! it saves me money for kits that I really want. But good for you Peter for getting your hands on what I suppose in the modelling world is a little Goldmine, it's good you have a very understanding wife !

The Tamiya Lanc first appeared in 1975 and I bought the Dambusters version in spring 1976.
Yes I thought it was mid '70's...This updated version with new Canopy option was 2012.

II think they were the earlier kits. And were not produced for more than about 1-2 years.
