I agree with the choices, Peter. To expand on the topic I would nominate RESKIT as aftermarket manufacturer of the year. You may have it planned but a review video of aftermarket releases in 2024 would be good to see.Reskit product was a big part of my build year so much so that it influenced the kits I bought. My favourite model kit of 2024 (building four with another on order) is the 1997 1/32 Tamiya F-4J Phantom based on the 1995 F-4C/D, partly because of the Reskit items that can be used with the model, the other reason is I made a silicone mold to make resin E noses to convert the J kits.
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Labbut you have had an older decent one, where as the SH has never been. 😢😢. But let’s hope it’s one or the other, not a bi-plane no one desires.
I'm busy making an Eduard Zeo as well, with camo spots. And I ruined the Eduard decals on the sides of the airplane when trying to pull off the top film. For the small Eduard decals I'm successful, but next time I'm from the start not going to try to rip off the film, at least not for the bigger decals. Sadly your decals have silvered somewhat, on an otherwise good model built. I'm using Ropos decals (Czech) and they are really good in having no silvering at all. I think Eduard's zero is a very fiddly model. Not bad but it takes a lot of care in building this model. I'm afraid of getting at the stage that I have to glue on the legs, not a very sturdy fit there.
@@darwinstoothpick4171 Thank you for pointing out my silvering! 😩 😢 But you are right there...I gave up with the Eduard decals and used Techmod from Poland. I'm busy making an Eduard Zeo as well, with camo spots. And I ruined the Eduard decals on the sides of the airplane when trying to pull off the top film.
So I'm replacing the red suns with other normal decals which are a bit too bright for this specific airplane. Bummer!
You are also right about the Zero being super fiddly...too much PE, etc...those legs are a nightmare: Take your time and get some reference photos or suffer my own fate, you will! I was the laughing stock of the modelling community for about a week! 😖 Happy New Year!
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab I wish that we are going to build more models this year than last year, let's try 25! But too much photo etch, fiddly details etc.. slows down building like nothing else. I used Techmod on a kit as well and it tends to silver. But I used 2 layers of aqua gloss and several sessions of micro sol and it turned out OK. Happy Healthy New Year! (But is drinking not going to affect your health?)
Did you check out REVELL'S NEW IRON MADDEN SPITFIRE featuring Eddie pilot figure it's in 1/35 scale highly detailed including Edddie poster character from the Heavy Metal Band IRON MADDEN 😊
@@charlesscott5076 No, - Never been a heavy metal fan & never really understood the Revell Iron Maiden tie in...yet another example of their obsession with obselete franchises!?
@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab I understand where you are coming from it might be Gimic However I did get in touch with other model enthusiasts And one did claim about the detail on this kit rivals that of Air Fix's 1/24 scale SPITFIRE model kit Further more the lead singer of the band actually piloted a vintage SPITFIRE Fighter His dad actually flew in THE MOSQUITO during WW2 so his love of aviation stems from him
