    Another glow up tip: learn emotional intelligence. Being able to understand when someone is just angry at you because they're projecting their insecurities, or telling you you are something that you aren't because they're traumatised is honestly such a breath of fresh air because you realise, a lot of the time you aren't the problem, their misconception of you is. Their trauma coming out at you is ❤

      Girl- I have a cousin that used to bully me and I just found out it was out of complete jealousy. She was the pretty girly type while I was full emo and she hated it, come to find out she tried the whole skater rocker thing at her own school later on LMFAO
      When I weighed 140 she used to call me super fat yada yada, turns out 140 was her goal weight years later (she was like 100 pounds)
      Next time a girl is mean to me like that ima just assume they want to be me 😂

      @@anti_s0ra_v1 yes it does...? You do realize you could be physically attractive, but the moment someone realizes you lack confidence, it brings down your social and perceived attractiveness immediately. @@hey-zel for real. I wish I had turn to God or the Bible sooner .. I did find some self help books that helped a bit. But this truly should be coming from our birth parents. Anyway, we all find guidance one way or another. As a parent I couldn’t even turn to my own parents for guidance.. I had to do my own research and find a way to become a good parent so that this whole “figure it out on your own” bullshit wouldn’t be passed down to my very own.
      Be the adult you wish you had as a child.
      And at times I have to parent myself .. which sucks.
      But it’s a must and I don’t wish that one anyone. Makes life harder when you’re not guided or prevented or taught

    posture, demeanor, speech matter so so much-- one of the best things I learned was to be intentional in selecting the words that leave my mouth, and to slow down when I talk. It forces people to pay attention and digest your words, and gives you a chance to do the equivalent of a spellcheck in verbal conversation. adds up to making someone "attractive" which is separate from being physically beautiful

    Unfortunately, us girlies with curly and wavy hair aren't really taught how to deal with it. The tips we're given for hair by our peers are for that which is straight, so we end up thinking our hair is just a frizzy mess and brush it over and over again, giving it the straight hair treatment, trying to understand why it just _immediately_ frizzes back up.
    Knowing the proper routine for your hair is underestimated.

    • @Oceanwaves-d8l
      @Oceanwaves-d8l 3 місяці тому +10

      @@Beepbeep78 My advice is simply to watch as many videos as possible about how to take care of wavy hair then try it all out. Everyone has slightly different needs, budgets, and ability to buy certain products (e.g. you might struggle to get products from other countries depending on boring political/trade stuff). I've often found that recommended products don't do anything for me at all but they work for some other people, so it really isn't a one-size-fits-all and you have to be prepared to experiment a bit (but to save on money and time, it helps to seek out UA-camrs with hair as close to yours as possible). It's also very helpful to have someone visually doing their routine because there are movements you have to get right such as scrunching and it just helps to see someone do it all if it's your first time. Good luck in the world of hair! :)

    For those starting a skincare routine, don’t wash your face with a face cleanser in the morning. Save that for nighttime. Instead just wash your face with water and spray some rose water on your face. Over washing your face could lead to more skin issues. I was told this by the lady who does my facials every month. Plus you save money from buying a cleanser since you are using it less 😊

The nit-picking every little thing about yourself can get toxic really fast so for anyone following this guide I would just recommend take it slow and start with little things. dont be hard on yourself through this process! you're already wonderful and self improvment doesnt mean put your current self down.

    Ok I usually don't like how glow-up videos seem to implicitly put down a certain "before" version of someone, who just doesn't fit some conventional beauty standards. A lot of them encourage putting on a bunch of makeup, taking off your glasses, and putting in hours of effort to become "better" or more worthy aesthetically. I like how this video encourages good hygiene, comfortable speaking, and health, and just other really simple tips. I don't really agree with encouraging plastic surgery as a way to glow up (though I also don't have anything against people who do it). But overall there are some nice tips.

The rest is generic stuff though and I’m conflicted how I feel with these types of videos. 7:57 I super agree!! I have this strong set of memories when I was a child, where this new girl joined my school and I was instantly thinking about how she was the prettiest girl I've ever seen and wondering what it was like to be that pretty. It turned out that she was a jerk- a massive bully, super judgemental and catty and just Mean. I didn't even notice it happen, but one day I looked back and thought "wow, I can't believe I thought she was pretty." Her personality got written all over her face!
    I will say, there are rare people who I think are so beautiful that they can get away with more before their personality over-rides their beauty- like sometimes it takes something specific or deeply personal to happen.
    I've also had a lot of experiences of thinking someone looked very plain or maybe even a little weird and then we end up becoming great friends and I just find them so pretty. I think having a good and kind personality and taking care of your personal hygeine is the simple glow-up most people end up going through once they figure themselves out a bit!

    Already a few minutes into your video, and I love your energy and vibe! I clicked this video, not because I think I need a huge glow up for the perception of other people, but mainly just for me because I struggle to be happy when I look in a mirror. When you started on the "feeling like a sloth" bit, that resonated with me because that's exactly how I feel. I struggle to shower more than every other day because I am allergic to almost everything, including water. So washing dishes, showering, brushing my teeth, everything is immensely harder because I break out in hives that are so itchy and painful it feels like there's a thousand fire ants on my skin. However, you have inspired me to try more. I am currently googling for the longest gloves I can find that hopefully won't irritate my skin (elow-length ones somehow still et water/soaps in them). And I am also looking into some dry shampoo brands for people with sensitive skin and also perfumes! I do what I can now to stay clean on my off-shower days but most products don't work for me. So in short, thank you!

    I only recently learned this but when you use perfume do not spray onto your clothes! I feel like I did that a lot. Instead spray it in the areas of your body that create heat. The folds of you arm. Behind your ear. On your chest if you wear a bra you kinda know what area produces heat more! I spray ur in between my breasts a little bit under, like the center of my stomach. And The area behind your knees. You are wasting perfume if you don't spray it on your skin. As you go out through our day your body will just exude that smell and wont wear off as fast!

    I also second that everything she said in this video is ESSENTIAL for glow up.
    Shes real.💎

    Mae thank you so much for all of your tips! I must say I am usually skeptical about these glow-up type videos because often they advice is superficial, but I found myself really loving this video because it was clear how extensive and reasonable your advice was. You really touched on everything that can make us more attractive. Thanks :)

    One mistake in her advice is about hair! Please do not laminate your hair after bleaching, as it will completely damage your hair, leaving it in terrible condition. Additionally, she is only referring to Asian hair, so girls from Europe should focus on the middle part of her advice. Asian hair is four times stronger than European hair and twice as strong as Black hair.

    I was told I needed surgery on my hands because of this immobilizing pain I was having. I also was having cysts form on my tendons in my hands. I had my psychiatrist tell me to try drinking water. I was like excuse me? But I started to get in the habit of drinking the amount of water I need a day and the cysts and pain went away 🤯
    Literally my body just didn’t have water to function properly. Saved me a whole surgery.
    Not saying everything can be fixed with water but it does do a lot
    TL:DR
    Drinking water is magical for the body in many ways and saved me from having a surgery

    littel disclaimer: please do some research on thyroid problem symptons, it's every time more common and a disbalance can produce symptons similiar to depression and anxiety. Also, if you have thyroid problems, cardio is not good for you! You can take a blood exam to know about your thyroid levels and discover if it's producing the hormones you need. If it's producing too much or too little, it can be very problematic!
    Great video, all tips are really helpful!

    • @kaliopetorres4698
      @kaliopetorres4698 3 місяці тому +4

      @@ginevrapoletti679 Of course cardio works! But what you must have in mind is that nothing will work until you find the right dose of medication for your thyroid to function properly, if hormones are all over the place, then it doesn't matter how much you work out you will not see results . If you exercise by doing both aerobic and anaerobic combined, you will get much better results but I think that applies for everyone.
