What is happening to any super yachts in development or under construction outside of Russia for Russian clients? There must be a few of them at some stage and I’m curious how this might be affecting the shipyards & related industry partners.
The shipyards are keeping their cards close to their chest on this one as you can imagine. They have to comply with government sanctions, and as far as I know they are all working their way through the problem. There are fewer large yachts being built for Russians than you might imagine, so although the war is having an impact on the industry, so far yacht building and yacht brokerage is still thriving. We are always hoping for the best but preparing for the worst though!

Im just an ordinary person who'll never own a yacht but I really do enjoy your channel (and your new channel). I'm fascinated by these craft and everything about their design and construction too, I always take a photo or too when I'm lucky enough to spy anything of interest! Alas we've recently moved to North Yorks so my opportunity to see these amazing yachts has diminished so I'm relying on you and your channels to feed my curiosity, thanks once again. Cheers.

From what I understand the masts are up on the sailing yacht are mounted already and they are finishing up on the interior on that yacht. Project ice cap is a very exciting yacht to be delivered next year, she is a replacement for North Star or northern star which was a 70 something meter yacht and will Carry the same name once delivered. Project jag is going to be the replacement for kismet. Also you probably should have mentioned the 90 meter Skat that should be delivered next year by Lurssen. Great video and keep up the great work

What happens with Yacht who is in the building progress and the coming owner can't afford to pay the next payment-Is the yacht being scrapped or will they finish the boat and try to sell it on the marked.

Hi David, thanks for the overview. I only can say unbelievable. The size, the outfit. Every year they get bigger and more luxurious. The name super yacht almost doesn't apply to these ships. Maybe it is time for a new class. May I suggest we follow the computer industry with Mega, Giga, Tera, Peta, and Exa yachts. This way we can name yacht classes for the coming decades or maybe only the a couple of years 😂🤣
By the way I enjoyed your cooperation with Tristan. He can give the angle of daily use of a yacht with his years of experience. Not only for the guests but also from a crew point of view for inspection, cleaning, maintaining an servicing.

UA-cam is full of trolls like Team 33, who are all the type of Karen that gets their kicks in finding fault in others. It amazes me that they bother to watch the videos, if they are not to their liking. These are small minded people, best ignored, but exposure on your platform was a great move. Great content & well presented.

I must say that I much prefer the channel Superyacht news from e-sysman, at least he knows this buisiness and is upfront with the owners and not just a smooth talking salesman!

David, I find your videos so informative and, honestly, simply so enjoyable to watch that after every one my mind is fissing with questions and comments to what you have given us. What I find so different this time is your comments about trolls and what they do. It really doesn't matter if you give us great content about yachts or cooking fab food or even .... I don't know... say, growing veg in a pot, trolls WILL and that's the end of it. They get their pleasure by goading you into a response, so the best way to deal with them isn't to give them the attention they are so obviously short of but to simply ignore them totally. Don't delete their vile hatred or reply to it just leave it out there so that us reasonable viewers can see it for what it is.
After saying that, I do have a slight issue with some of your videos but it's really only me I guess, I don't enjoy the ones when there is no-one in view. I can't get a handle on the size of the spaces shown on my screen. When you do your walk-around tours there is something .... errr You in view to allow me to judge what I'm seeing.
Anyway, after almost writing a book (I'm bored today) it just leaves me to say, thank you for what you do and keep up the great work.

The Salt design being built at Lurssen is not an X-Bow. X-Bow is an Ulstein design, the first superyacht built with this hull form is Olivia O.

It's my only issue is why are you responding to an internet troll? that is exactly what they want that is their whole purpose. When you respond to them you give them d attention they so desperately need
While these yachts are awesome to look at and dream about, I feel that they are far too big for the "common" man. They are for the very super rich (who for whatever reason thinks they need something like this) or large corporations. Personally, I think a 25-35 meter boat would suit most of us (IF we had the money to throw around) that watch these videos. Ofc I could be wrong andif I suddenly found myself with several billion dollars I may rush right out and get one of these behemoths. 😂
As for switching Captains and crews, the only reason I could see for that is if there is a language or cultural barrier, for example an American buying a used European crewed boat and the crew couldn't speak great English or didn't want to change home ports, or are not overaly fond of Americans (or whatever nationality). Otherwise, why would you replace a good crew with working knowledge of the boat?

Admittedly the metric system is perhaps superior, but maybe it's a good idea to spend the time to put imperial values at least on the screen, since in all likelihood the US comprises your greatest number of viewers....smarten up dummy, you're in sales and marketing, you're not a one man operation, and you've been at this awhile 👍 I know if I were doing a video, I would verbally articulate things also in metric just for ease of the potential overseas viewer...
