what species of chameleon is your favorite?
I'm not sure! Lol 😂 I kinda want a female panther chameleon after watching a bunch of Bill's videos!
Much more research is needed and an enclosure would need to be built.
I realize that's not exactly what you asked. Lol 😂 idk I can't pick yet!
Namaqua chameleon without a doubt
Parson's hands down! The main thing is they don't like heat! The male I had would hang on the coaxial cable for the TV antenna and just chill in the cool air. They had free range in the office apartment of the fish farm in Miami. I never had success with offering small rodents or newly hatched button quail but when I was hand feeding some baby cockatiels the male made a bee line for container that had them chirping inside. I didn't;t let that experiment run its course.
Later when I was at a World of Orchids I had two pairs free roaming in a 1/2 acre conservatory . Really no problems the males and females had enough visual barriers that very few squabbles happened . IME Parson's are one of the most peaceful species. The least dominate one would change color and get out of dodge. This means males turn black and females yellow. There was never any biting or direct interaction that would force my intervention .
This brings up the 90's reptile thing that you could buy a Parson's for $45 USD at one of the importers in South Florida. Price them now!
For me the Jackson's Chameleon! their spikes are incredible
The panther chameleon definitely!
Carpet, carpet, carpet, carpet, carpet chameleon
hahah yeaaaaa
They come and go... They come and goooo! 😂

A “one-trick pony” show. I wonder if it’s in Mike’s video also..?
Go figure.
@@davidvento5481 either way its stuck in my head 😩
I cannot get over how calm these chameleons are in the wild. The Parsons is my absolute favorite.
Absolutely insane wh
"to attract tHe BaBEs as bill would say" has me dead 💀
Bill is the man
Dude I want to see a Parsons chameleon just to hold it. That thing is so cool
So big and beautiful
Thank you so much for making this video. I was wondering what kinds of chameleons you can have as pets
Glad I could help!
Great list! I didnt even know about a couple of those. Carpet Chameleon was the first reptile I ever wanted 7 years ago but the only breeders I could find were in the US and it didnt happen. Hopefully things have changed!
Good choice!
Adam what an amazing video!! You’re a natural at this. Your videos flow smoothly, humorous and keep me coming back again and again ❤ I learned so much about chameleons 🎉
Thanks so much!!
I have no plans to get one,but you showed me some I've never seen before in the middle of a perfect forest. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
I never new there was a difference between the Miller Chameleon and Elephant ear Chameleon. See this is why I love your videos I always seem to learn something new!
Btw ty for answering my question on instagram earlier (if you see this adam) I probably will go for the Spotted Python because it just takes up slightly less space but if I end up having enough space I may go for a dumerils boa. Anyways thanks for being such a great helpful person adam keep it up man!
Thanks for watching!
Chameleons are adorable
sure are
I love to see a cap est panther chameleon representing the species, such an unusual and amazing sub-species.
for sure!
From chameleon to catmeleon 😹
Have been looking into carpet chameleons recently. Didn’t know about elephant ears 😮
they sure are super cool!
Beautiful video as always
Thanks again!
Brilliant video again! I’d love to see a chameleon enclosure being created, I think it would make an interesting video!
Coming soon!
I love chameleons! I really want one as a pet but the requirements for them can be pretty daunting compared to say, my small army of crested geckos.
sure can be!
Check out Neptune the chameleon videos if you're interested. She has plenty of beginner guides, common mistakes, do's and don'ts, setups etc in nice easy to digest videos aimed at people who are interested/thinking about but don't have any cham experience.
Hagatha needs her own spin-off series.
She sure does
Hello awesome video on chameleons. I was curious how jimmy was doing for you haven’t heard about him for awhile. I am about to purchase a Stimson or spotted python and it made me think of jimmy
Interesting chameleon breeds, Was a very helpful video!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video! Looking forward to a video discussing the various New Caledonian Geckos!
Coming soon!
could you make a video about Larbord's Chameleons? They are the shortest lived land vertebrate.
crazy eh!
A video on lizards u hate but that I love so thank u

Great editing! Very well put together video. Except now I’m back to considering a chameleon. 🤔😄

Btw I’ve been obsessed with your channel since I got my guy Cornelius (corn snake)
I love the name!
Yay! You gave big love to chameleons finally. ❤️❤️❤️

I’m a big fan of chameleons, just not a big enough fan to want one as a pet, also your channel intro is dope bro ❤
Appreciate it! thanks!
That parsons chameleon is beautiful I shouldn’t have watched this video I don’t have enough space to keep these things amazing video as always
they are so amazing!
Yessss. You picked the thumbnail I voted for.
thanks for your help!
Some of these shots were like watching a BBC documentary. They really popped, and you could really see those beautiful colors.
thank you so much!
Bill strand the legend himself
He sure is
How can I find parsons chameleon? Beautiful 😍
What the heck That Chameleon is huge😮
the biggest on earth
I was chatting with Bill quite a bit on the livestream when you guys were in Madagascar and before he left I told him to ask about the Green Giant! He said when he asked about it he was told, it is in fact real. I just wish we could get Imports of those things. I've never even seen one
they sure are cool eh
I absolutely adore chameleons! This was a great video! I have two panthers of my own and they are the sweetest things! HOWEVER, to all of those looking to get a chameleon, please be aware that they have very specific care requirements that if not met will lead to either illness or death. The initial investment into a setup is easily $1k. All of the information that pet stores tell you about them is wrong, and the chameleon kit is a complete scam and waste of money. If you DO intend on getting a chameleon, purchase from a BREEDER! Below is some basic information :)
- Chameleons NEED at MINIMUM a 24"x24"x48" enclosure - YES even juveniles. Many use an XL Reptibreeze
- They need T5HO UVB in a LINEAR bulb 6% or 12%
- Do not use any fake branches or plants, no fake or real moss or anything of the sort
- Use all real plants (repotted into organic, fertilizer free, perlite free soil. Washed leaves as well)
- Use real branches and sticks
- NO water fountains. They need drippers and misters
- NEVER fog or mist during the day
- NO bedding, reptile carpet, or pee pads. Just have the plain bottom of the enclosure.
For more information PLEASE go to Chameleon Academy either here or just google them! Bill Strand is amazingly smart and helpfum
Adam, if you find value in this, it would be great to have it pinned so those interested don't make a hasty decision. I've seen it happen too many times.
Great lineup but if I were you I would have a Jackson’s chameleon on the lineup
for sure
All these super chill wild chameleons, meanwhile my CB Veiled wants to bite you any chance she gets
insane right!
I didn’t even know there were this many species of chameleon
there are over 100. insane
Great video sounds. Pet Reptile 👍
Yes, thanks
Bill seems to be legit. I learned a ton
he's the man!
Such beautiful animals!
sure are!
I wish i could have a chameleon but they just have such a difficult care so i need to go to Florida or somewhere and try to find some in the wild so long story short I’m so jealous of you no fair

I love Parsons chameleons but I don't have the space so I'm watching this with my cat for now :)
they are big bois!
I sure hope Bill accompanies me if I ever go to Madagascar. 😅
I still can't get over the fact that y'all are holding wild reptiles in these videos. I'm not sure I've ever held a wild reptile in my life.
it's pretty wild to think about
As a Chameleon Academy regular I had to chuckle. This has Bill Strand written all over it hahahaha Especially #1 In Germany carpets are not yet established but I am hoping to get my hands on one or two this year.
same here in Canada, hopefully soon
That thing is huge !
thank you, thank you!
Again another great vid👍🏻
I have a video idea which will help your viewers, can you speak about diseases/viruses in bearded dragons such as metabolic bone disease, infectious stomatitis, hepatic lipidosis, adenovirus, pinworm & coccidia etc..
How to avoid your bearded dragon getting them such as hygiene, tank clean, not mixing dragond etc.. and also how to treat them for pinworm/parasites or when you should seek a vet, also common signs to look for, depression, lethargic etc etc...
I'd really enjoy a video like that an I think it would be a massive help, I recently lost a bearded dragon, who's growth was stunted and became ill, she had a seizures on the floor and was really weak, she passed away, to the hidden killer disease but the signs were there and I wasn't aware, I now have researched a huge ammount because I never want this to happen again it was heart breaking, Thankyou Louis 👍🏻
editing a dragon care guide right now actually
@@WickensWickedReptiles excellent stuff keep up the great work
I love all of them, most cutest brookesia superciliaris..mimic nature.
they are amazing!
Great video. They are all pretty.
I agree!
Im breeding Brookesia right now :)))
Adam: Some people say they're hard to care for
Me: Adam, YOU say they're hard to care for
some people is me, accurate!
Panther chameleons are my personal favourite. I loved my little guy, but unsure if I’d ever own another. They just don’t live long enough and I was absolutely heartbroken when he passed away.
Curious if the brookesii micro is as sensitive to ventilation and humidity as the larger species. I love chameleons but I dont have room for a 12 x 6 x 4 or special chameleon room, but high ventilation plus high humidity seems daunting on a small scale.
this is a great question, perhaps Bill has covered this?
I have always thought those small chameleons would make the best little reptile pets! You can give tiny animals so much space and see more natural behaviors and they tend to breed more easily and thus more captive-bred animals for people. win-win! Thanks for reminding people to avoid wild-caught animals. 💚🦎🐸
It's also important to note that Parson's Chams live up to 15 years, which is forever for a chameleon
very cool!
I feel that. My Meller's is now 13y and climbing has just started to become a bit of an issue. People seem to forget that just like any creature sooner or later the body starts to decline. I've got him in a vet setup now because I was worried about falls but for a chameleon that big, used to a enclosure that's half a room long and tall... I had to get creative.
Anytime I am out with one of the boys and people ask about how to get started I always warn them that the upfront costs are expensive (I spend about $1000 per panther on enclosure, lights, misters, dripper, plants, branches etc. Yes a lot of those are one time costs but that initial start can be expensive. Mind I also go fully bioactive.) That emergencies do happen and often because they like to hide their problems it takes a lot more work to nurse them back to health then say, a dog or cat (thankfully that's never really been an issue for me with only one respiratory infection in the years I've been keeping them. But I also do monthly exams up to the first 6 months and then bi-yearly exams after that. So what I don't catch the vet does before it requires a lot of meds/work. I have a deal with the teaching clinic, the students get to learn how to preform actual Heath exams on an exotic and I get discounts on vet bills).
So cool
thanks!
I really don't know why phobia for chameleon can't go away...
they do have weird faces
@@WickensWickedReptiles I'm just here in East Africa I'm pretty sure there's same ones here too like the big green one 😱🤯🥶
Any chance you can do a schneiders skink vs emerald tree skink video someday?
absolutely!
@@WickensWickedReptiles Thank you!!
What was that one at the end with dark marks and the spikey nose??
The disappointment that there was no amphibian was real!
hahahhaa
So… You’ll get a carpet chameleon in the near future? 😁
;)
I have a veiled chameleon named drake-o he’s 4 years old and the he loves to be handled…
The brevicorne actually gets quite large. The species your holding are either young or a type of Brevicorne that does not get imported. Most brevs are wild caughts and are not easy to keep in captivity. Brevs require cooler temps and require a lot of water so I would consider the Brev for more experienced keepers.
Panthers are absolutely amazing as pets parsons are great bec they are hardy but do require cooler temps and a lot of water like the Brevs making them harder to keep husbandry wise.
Micro chameleon/ pygmy are extremely rare in captivity and wild caught are very fragile. They only have a 2 year life span so that would make for not a solid pet if people are getting attached to there chameleons.
Carpets are great if they are captive bred. Wild caught are very challenging to keep.
Hey I know this is off topic but I’m having a big problem with heating my 120 for my bearded I have a lamp made for 160w and a 100w bulb in it but it’s still not even close to how hot it needs to be how do I fix please also great video.
as obvious as it sounds, get a higher wattage bulb
I’m looking into getting a flat headed rock agama.
dam was hoping veiled was on the list are they bad then ?
Their "hands" remind me of The Penguin's. Lol. Still cool.
My Favorites are the Brookesia Chameleons
My only problem with carpet chameleons is that they live only for around 3 years
some species are really short lived for sure
5. Don't get a chameleon
4. See above
3. Yup, up there.
2. You getting this yet?
1. See above.
Caveat: so many chameleon keepers have them for 1 year.
We're getting better but we ain't there yet.
Hi Adam
hello!
Chameleons Ninja agents karate Club for rules!!
I literally love their feet so much 🥰
Also I wish I could flap my ears when I'm upset.
hahahah right!?
Carpet chameleons, they have been popular since the 90's, they have short life spans, how are they the best?
It’s important to note that chameleons in captivity are very, very different than in the wild.
I think I hammer on this maybe even too much in the video
The best
I know you are but what am I
