What size airshocks on front and rear on front did you have to shave front arm, is ma 803 wrong for front need front airshocks size,Love the way it sits I have 73 beetle waiting on your response, thanks
Nice stance! Question... when you pull the torsion bar out to rotate it, how are you able to tell which splines you're changing, inner or outer? I ask because you can't see them. Thanks.
It’s mostly about feels and letting it drag onto each spline to count them. You can pull the end all the way off though and make sure that the inner stays put.
did you end up cutting off the upper bump stop mount? I have the same setup...no to little air i still take a beating on the metal to metal rear bump stops (rubber snubber is cut all the way down) but w/ even just 25lbs in rear it sits up higher than i wanted w/ the 2 notches down.
That's surprising. Which rear shocks did you buy? I have to pump my rear up to over 100psi to not make it bump. I have considered moving my shock mounts and getting rid of the bump stops, but I believe I would also need to notch the spring plates.
I removed the arms entirely so I could replace the OG inner arm to frame horn bushings . I’m putting on adjustable spring plates one notch up and that will give me plenty of further adjustment
@@HiRevzMedia How is the turning radius with that tire setup? Previous owner on mine went way too wide on the tires and this thing turns worse than an 18-wheeler. I'll definitely be going back to something more stock.
Cool vid ! I have a 71 bug that has a hard slam sound when I hit a bump only on the driver side. I got new shock absorbers and it still does the same thing. Have you ever experienced that before ? Scratching my head here.
@@HiRevzMedia yes there is still hey old pair of rubber bump stops on it. Are they supposed to bottom out regularly, or are they there for the once in a while bad pothole or something like that? I'm going to buy a pair of the stock replacement shock absorbers from Wolfsburg just so I know I have a pair that is the correct length. Everything is really old and loud back there I plan to take it apart and replace any worn out components i see.
@@HiRevzMedia Not a fan of narrow tires on the front of a public road driven bug as 80 per cent of bug braking is at the front due to weight transfer , it's not an issue for drag strip racers which is where the "cool low and narrowed front " Look idea comes from. It’s a little more harsh, but I ended up putting on 2.5” drop spindles in the next video so I can run it almost all the way pumped up and still look the same as before. It rides like stock now.
I like the look 2 notch outside change didn't change it to a negative camber look that I don't care for anyway how high can you go with air in shocks for off road and do you end up with positive camber look or is it subtle like when dropped...

Great explanation on both the rear and front lowering. It looks really good thanks for sharing.
John Rushing thank you!!!
Can you just pull the torsion bars out an put it back together an run it like that so it move free up an down.
Did you set the toe?....no mention of it in your vid.
What air shock part number did you install on the rear of this bug..??
Links in the description bud.
Did you adjust both sides? Or only the right side?
No +Camber issues?

Awesome video. Thank you for the diy
What size tires front and back?
Thanks!!!

looks great
What was your total drop in inches ? I’m lookin to go 2.5 inches not sure how many notches on outer . Ty
I think about 3” on this one.
Love this build! Got my first bug going to be doing the same mods as you have, can I ask what tire sizes you're running front and rear?
Hey bud, links are in the description for the front tires, but the rears are just the stock size.

It might still have a rubber bump stop in place, or the shock is just messing up or not long enough.

They probably need to be cut down to just a little bit of rubber, just in case
@@johnmartin5153 i have the same problem, banging noise on 1 side. i trimmed bumpstops can i get a update?
Hi mate looks nice lowered, do you know the minimum and maximum travel distance of those rear air shocks?
Man that is a sick stance!!!
Do mind giving the specs of wheels and tires sizes you used?
Thanks!!!

How’s it ride compared to stock?
It rides really good when it’s aired up. It’s kinda bumpy when it doesn’t have a lot of air though.
Mines a 76..that's exactly the stance i want
Awesome!!!!
How's the ride with it pumped up about half or so

I recently purchased a 70' and mine is sitting lower than this, so at last I know how to raise it
LOL 👍
Nice grass at the end of the video 😂
Thanks 😊

It is a little bit negative camber when it’s all the way down, but pumped all the way up, it just goes back to stock.
It’s gotta nice squat!
didn't have to cut the spring mount plate. Not needed.
Too much intro.!
