I'm from Ontario which I thought was the corn capital of Canada. I'll admit I didn't knew you grew so much in Alberta, or that you could even grow it there. Wow. This is great.
John Tapscott Taber Alberta sweet corn is the best in the world lol and southern Alberta has some of the biggest feed lots in the world lots of corn is grown here
I hauled ensilage back in 70s in calif. we had 2 row new Holland 3 row john deer choppers but our corn was 15' with 3 ears per stalk the corn in this video is about the height our wheat is
Jrbpa 57 unfortunately we are in a cooler climate area where taking off corn for silage when it's green does not always work. 9 out 10 years we end up getting a frost (sometimes very light, but enough to kill the tops off), before we start Silaging. But I agree, if we can get the silage off when it is green, it makes for better silage
X AWESOME BEN Rich farmers ?? my neighbor has 32,000 acres and he is hardly rich. Heck most of the time the manure check is bigger than the milk check.
Most of them are land rich but cash poor. While some farmers have a lot of land that they farm and/or ranch, running those acres and maintaining the equipment to run the land requires a lot of cash/time
I worked for John Deere for 8 years, they aren't "poor farmers". If they were, they would find another job to make money. How can u be poor and drive around in a $75,000 "farm truck"????
This farm system is the worst, the ground need to replenish itself by being untouched every two years or they will end up with no soil left what so ever. The land is so damaged by fertilizer and round up it makes me sick to my stomach.

John Tapscott such a polite comment! Makes us Americans ever more envious of you folks up there.
A J speak for yourself bud.

Great video, thanks for sharing!
Great camera shots. If I was younger and made a big hit in the lottery, I'd go farming again. Until it's all gone...
Ocean Mariner What do you mean again did you own a farm one time?
Had a dairy. Old joke: farmer wins the lottery and asked what he'd do with the money. I'd go farming again. Until it's all gone..
farmers run this world , not the politicians
Great video.
Hey ajm, nice video there. Also is that music copyright free or did you get a licence for the video to use it? Thanks in advance - Jake
Bavoir the song came from PremiumBeat.com. You buy each song so it can be played on UA-cam or other social media. That's pays for the copy right.

I didn't think about being cooler , I'm in Ohio so it doesn't frost early here very often.
Jrbpa 57 Ohio is a beautiful area, especially for growing corn.
What distance between rows?
Diego020383 most of our equipment plants corn at either 15" or 22". We do have very little acres planted at 30" spacing.
