This video takes you through the main features of the Focusrite Control 2802 console.
With an array of superb-quality analogue features packed into its compact frame, Focusrite Control 2802 includes capabilities you would expect to find only on large-format consoles. At the front end, eight Class-A microphone preamps deliver clear, transparent performance. Then at its heart is a powerful summing mixer handling up to 32 simultaneous inputs with ultra-low distortion, excellent dynamic range and a frequency response wider than the human ear. There's a punchy master bus compressor featuring parallel compression for versatile control of dynamics for your stereo mix -- or any other pair of channels. High-end analogue design characterises the 2802 -- implemented with similarly uncompromised components and build quality throughout.

this is what ive been looking for. can you please make make more
That plug-in is a just a built in insert in Logic. The 2802 can be used to control Logic, Pro-Tools, Cubase and Nuendo.
You have direct pan control over 16 of the inputs (8 through the channel strips, 8 through the cue bus). The 8 summing inputs are treated as either 4 stereo pairs (LRLRLRLR) or as 8 mono (non-pannable). The other 8 inputs come in as stereo pairs (FX returns basically) with a mono option on 4 of those 8. Technically this is advertised as a 28 input summing mixer (hence the name 2802), but the other 2 stereo pairs can be used during mixdown to get to 32.
This room (along with the studios) are in the process of being acoustically treated as they have recently just been built primarily for Focusrite videos. We have only recorded the spoken word in this promo, and all music has been pre-recorded in a different location by the artist. In a short time, the acoustic paneling will arrive and be fitted.
oh thank god. I was so confused as to why this room sounded like garbage. :)
that desk looks slack
Looking to pick one up. This looks amazing! Is it still supported with the latest OS?
Afraid not. Control 2802 was discontinued back in 2012 and is no longer receiving development support. As a result, it isn't supported for use with current operating system versions. Control 2802 is unlikely to work correctly as a control for any DAW beyond macOS Mojave. The last operating system the software for the Control 2802 could be installed on was Mojave 10.14.6. This wasn't officially supported or tested but we're aware that for some users, it worked successfully. The last tested, supported operating system for the Control 2802 was Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Sadly, I have to sell mine as I don't have the space anymore. It's a fabulous sounding piece of kit.
I want that desk!... No, not the 2802, the literal desk it's sitting on!
it was great piece of gear before they took it out of production, as was the Audient asp 2802. I know they are essentially the same product. I wish there was something with the same features and price point as this available in the market today. I should have got one when I had the chance I suppose.
can you guys make a version of this that can be used as just a control surface?
that has mackie hui. thats all i really want!!!!
Poderia relançar a versão MKII de 24 canais ... projeto excelente , não sei porque foi descontinuado
True that. Silly if you think about it. Pro Tools is basically the industry standard in pro studios, but it actually it isn't compatible at all. Only recently opened up to any audio interface, OMF support is still sketchy, Avid still hammers their own plugin formats onto us, etc.
Unfortunately we do not offer any manuals for these products in Italian. You would be best off contacting the Italian distributor if you wish to get any information in Italian. Their details can be found on our main website, under 'where to buy'.
lol.... I read this after posting the same thing. The grouping option did make me smile about this product though.
There is no digital optical I/O on this unit, you will need to connect to any other device over the analogue connections.
The only issue is the HUI protocol, it works but is limited with Pro Tools, but since Avid (Digidesign) has had a past with Focusrite hopefully Avid will open the Eucon protocol to the 2802. Man that would be the ....!!
It can be used for live mixing, but it only has 8 built in pres so most likely you'd need more for the road.
I'm sure it is possible, it is meant for studio but I have used live mixers in the studio before, so I don't see why you couldn't go the other way as well
Hi, Im having difficulties pairing my 2802 with my mac ( 10.9). is there a firmware update on the way or is it a port/networking issue. i have downloaded the software but the two (2802 & mac) cant see each other. kindly advise on where i could be going wrong. Great video..
Hi,
Please contact us at focusrite.com./answerbase/help, so we can advise you in more detail.
This is awesome but I can help to notice by his voice that the room he's in is horrible for mixing. So much refraction that it almost sounds like an effect on his voice.
sorry i never normally comment negatively but aside from the which i have used and was quite impressed with....the sound of that room is horrendous. I apologise again for negativity but come on, you'd be better off setting up a control room in the bathroom
Is it possible to use the mixer for live mixing?
Hello, i wonder if it's possible to find an italian manual of saffire pro 24 dsp or the pro 40 too? Where and how? Thanks..
Super cool desk. Yeah it's pricey. Well actually, no it's not that pricey. Those last couple of things he said in the video about the price are actually true. Maybe buying everything separately would enable more flexibility, but if you're looking for one project studio product that does it all, this may be it.
What DAW packages will this control ?
I'm a bit confused here if somebody can answer me? Let's say I run a project with 32 channels and my D/A converter has 32 outputs hooked to 2802 for analog summing, how do I control panning on stereo bus of 2802? thank you
the 2802 is an audient desk haha
Yeah it used to be called and Audient ASP2082 I think. It's all audient hardware on this if you haven't noticed
Well, this is just a re-hash off the Audient from a year prior
Focusrite control 2802
It's a shame we do not have the SUBTITLES SPANISH FOR LATIN AMERICA BECAUSE NO ONE CAN BUY THIS PRODUCT TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT, because everything is in English. I DO NOT ASK TO SPEAK IN SPANISH ONLY IN SPANISH subtitles are clear, because the automatic HOW TO UA-cam IS VERY BAD TRANSLATION
his room is the worst to mix in. this mixer won't even matter
far to pricey this product
This is audient how is this focusrite returning to its beginnings - bad acoustics in the mock control room making commentary laughable - for a pro audio advert .... all style no substance : :
yo no entiendo u.u LIKE A ESTE COMENTARIO SI NO ENTENDISTE NI MELDA :'V
Looks very "plastic-y"
can it connect optically with other focusrite interfaces?
