In the end Moriarty won because we STILL havent gotten a Sherlock Holmes 3
It's in development, have faith
@@alexabel1841. Duke nukem game was in development for 12 years. Ya how that work?
What about Dead Island 2?
Yup. plus, this series was flawed, it should have been a trilogy with another villain as #2, building up to moriarty vs sherlock in #3. This was premature, and frankly movie 3 will be a letdown.

Jared Harris is so unbelievably good in this movie.
Absolutely delicious portrayal of a legendary character.
Fantastic in Chernobyl as well.
2:22 - One of my favorite moments of wordless acting ever. The way Harris balls up shock, horror and a hint of grudging acknowledgement without aping any single expression is so damned good.
Jared Harris is one of the S tier actors IMO, but just flies under the radar because he’s not handsome.
What I like is that even though Moriarty still loses at the game and the plot, he still technically wins the all around competition. His plan wasn't to cause a war to happen, his plan was to make the war happen sooner. War was inevitable, he just wanted to profit from it and decided to just nudge it along faster so he could start making money sooner.
He lost in all ends of things that he actually valued , this isn’t the battle for the soul of humanity after all that game is far more complex, shoots and ladders I’d imagine
His whole cover was blown up, he already was rich and powerful, but he also was incognito dude. And now he lost basically everything because it's now clear for everyone that he's not just a university professor
Profit from.....? The cops took all his money, his network was wrecked, and now everyone knows he's a criminal.
Dude come on he loses at the end. He loses from making profit from the war.
We all know that war is coming but Sherlock RDJ is just stopping the war happening sooner.
@@thehoodieguy1341 He DIES. Pretty sure the guy who lives wins.
IRS: About that paycheck of yours. I believe its just been SUBSTANTIALLY reduced.
Oh god, one of THOSE morons.
This was such a magical scene. Always gives me goosebumps the way these two played off each other.
It was such an amature reveal. There was nothing clever about the twist at all. It was just "Wait, I knew you would do that so all the way back at the beginning of the movie I did this convenient thing for the plot"
It was a great scene stop capping
"The game's afoot!"
"What?"
"The game... it's a foot."
"No it's not.
"Yes, it is."
"No. The game's a-mystery."
_sighs and grumbles_
Never has there been a bigger flex of the intelligence of fictional characters than this.
Oh no, this isn't the flex.
The _flex_ is that this is a slight variation on a famous real grandmaster match in 1966 _and_ that the game they play describes the events that occur in the room next door and with lestrade in London.
That is the writers flex.
They put a scene for ultimate chess nerds in their Hollywood summer blockbuster action adventure.
Whats incredible is an actual chess match strategy is being played using only words while holmes unravels moriartys empires
There's a moment in this film when you realise that the plot is very similar to the plot of The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. In fact, this movie could kinda be a prequel to that one.
Nailed hit on the nerve 2:22
There’s a chance in my opinion that Moriarty saw that this was leading to a check mate but he was trying to intimidate Sherlock into trying to show that Sherlock had nothing on him but Sherlock kept proving that he had it all figured out thus that intimidation wasn’t effective, thus why, even though Moriarty is a super genius like Sherlock, he underestimated Sherlock’s abilities not in the game but symbolised by the game.
Yeah. Moriarty was trying to call Holmes bluff
Marvellous!
We need part 3
Sherlock calling Lestrade inept😂😂😂😂😂
Perfect scene.
Wish we could have more RDJs Sherlock Holmes movies then this as the last.
Moriarty spends the whole movie underestimating Holmes. He's convinced that, as smart as Holmes is, he's smarter, and has more resources to command, so his victory is assured. Yet Holmes reminds him who the real genius is.
I don't care that RDJ's accent is not authentic. That scene was marvelously done, scripted, and detailed. Fun, intelligent, gut punching fun.
This is best ending !
I love this part of the movie but this is the only part of the movie I like sad but I would love to see another movie
I just saw a story about that the other day where they talked about how Robert and Jude still hang out IRL, and that the series isn't cancelled. They want to make another one.
hey brits, how good is Sir Robert Downey Jrs accent?
This is best senc?????
In the books he wasnt inept
I'm American and usually ignore bad accents, but I've been listening to a lot of English podcasts recently (The Magnus Archives to be specific), so RDJs poor accent is really noticeable for me right now, lmao
You know there are like 50 different English accents
Who is the actress? She is most attractive.
