I love the little things in this scene like the way they sit down. Adler sits down very casually while Holmes takes a seat like he is the one visiting.
She's Christine Palmer from Dr strange. Jude law played villain in captain Marvel. It's only a matter of time, artists would be defined by MCU and non MCU ones.
Robert Downey Junior's mannerisms and accent are spot on. Its very tough for an American actor to really nail the role of an iconic British character like Sherlock Holmes. His accent especially of a street vagabond when he encounters the Moriarty sitting inside the coach hidden in the shadows is very authentic.
Subtle detail at 1:43 when Holmes is pouring tea, he's actually pouring with an "assassin's teapot." Note the way his fingers change slightly when pouring between his drink and Irene's. He's covering a small hole on top to allow the secondary area to pour instead, with something most likely to neutralize Irene so he can get answers out of her. However, Irene being one step ahead of Holmes, takes the cup he poured for himself. That's why he sniffs his cup and proceeds to not drink from it.
Nah it's not that, it's simply the case of Holmes not trusting Irene. Holmes is not the type of person to use drugs to force confiessions, that would be too boring for him.
Watson: It's been such a great day. Nothing unexpected can happen. *He enters* Irene: Hold the Door. Watson: Why of course, dear Lady *He holds it open* Irene: Thanks, Doctor Watson: What a polite- hang on a minute...
4:20 - One thing I find sincerely *hilarious* about British comedies - of which Guy Ritchie makes *extremely dark* versions of - is how they so often have so-called "friends" savagely *roasting* each other. Watson: What could she possibly need? An alibi? A beard? A human canoe. She could sit on your back and... paddle you up the Thames.🤣

I went to see this movie with my mom in the theater on Christmas day. It was one of the last memories I'll have with her. I was just a teenager. It will always bring me back to that day with her.
I enjoyed both of these films, but I really hate it in movies when the characters spend a whole film rescuing someone, only for that someone to get killed-off right at the start of the sequel. It completely undermines the point of the previous movie! Just look at the hatred for ALIEN 3, TERMINATOR DARK FATE, and IRON EAGLE 2 to name but a few. Ah well, maybe they'll find a way to bring Irene back in the third film.... 🤔

Sherlock is wiping his face, Watson isn't asking about Irene, but is instead already making fun of Sherlock about their past encounter rather than being stressed about this new one. He's in a chair reading the paper, as if he's been sitting there for a while, and when Sherlock goes to show him the letter, Watson says he's already read it, which he couldn't have had time for if he'd entered the room a few seconds ago. They place hints so that some viewers will realise Sherlock was the man who bumped into the carriage before they reveal it.
What I really love is how he's constantly altering his disguise slightly every time he can, make himself appear just a little more different so at a glance he could be mistaken as a new person, changing how he wears the belt and the scarf, altering the hat, just tiny little nudges to make him more unique every time.
Robert and Rachel, two Americans, so deftly playing Brits........ amazing! Probably one of the best depictions (if not THE best) of "role reversal".... thumbs up to both of them and their immense talent!
Irene adler is actually american(from new jersey): which is actually accurate to the sir doyle story she appeared in. I personally love mcadams' portrayal of her.
Robert is an amazing actor, seems like he was born for acting, which he basically was I guess, the fact that he emerged from addiction is incredible, I know from personal experience, once your labeled that's usually it, but he somehow rebounded and succeeded, that's not an easy path.
Rachel McAdams (Irene Adler), Jude Law (Watson in the movie), RDJ (Holmes in the movie), Martin Freeman (Watson in the series) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Holmes in the series) they all act in Marvel movies.
It's booked & is supposedly happening, but Ritchie is not returning to direct. He's half of what made these movies so fantastic, so I won't be watching.
2 things that the second movie did not use: Adler's necklace, the maharaja missing diamond, taken by Sherlock towards the end of the first movie was gifted to Watson and Mary's wedding as the new ring after it was lost in the tussle looking for the red headed little person. second; Moriarty did not at all use his mini gun in his sleeve. I am very curious as to why he even had it in this movie but not at all in the second. I was hoping he would have used it during the final fight after the chess game. MMMMM i love this movie. everything is so intense and extrospective--for a lack of a better word.
1) I don't think the ring is that relevant in the 2nd movie. Irene was barely in it 2) Moriaty has no use for it in the 2nd movie. Most of the time when facing Holmes he almost never uses a gun. Also a deringer gun is useless outside of point blank
in the story written by Arthur Conan Doyle, Holmes had 4 times failed in his mission 3 men and 1 woman. the woman was Irene Adler and therefore Holmes admired her intelligence.
They were so unbelievably amazing together, great production, great writing in this scene, great performance, great chemistry. And theeen they did her so dirty in next movie, I was beyond disappointed, it was really sad, because of how badly done it was. :( But, we'll always have this one.

It's booked & is supposedly happening, but Ritchie is not returning to direct. He's half of what made these movies so fantastic, so I won't be watching.
2 things that the second movie did not use:
Adler's necklace, the maharaja missing diamond, taken by Sherlock towards the end of the first movie was gifted to Watson and Mary's wedding as the new ring after it was lost in the tussle looking for the red headed little person.
second; Moriarty did not at all use his mini gun in his sleeve. I am very curious as to why he even had it in this movie but not at all in the second. I was hoping he would have used it during the final fight after the chess game. MMMMM i love this movie. everything is so intense and extrospective--for a lack of a better word.
1) I don't think the ring is that relevant in the 2nd movie. Irene was barely in it
2) Moriaty has no use for it in the 2nd movie. Most of the time when facing Holmes he almost never uses a gun. Also a deringer gun is useless outside of point blank

in the story written by Arthur Conan Doyle, Holmes had 4 times failed in his mission 3 men and 1 woman. the woman was Irene Adler and therefore Holmes admired her intelligence.
She looks so much like a young Famke Janssen especially when she smiles.

They were so unbelievably amazing together, great production, great writing in this scene, great performance, great chemistry. And theeen they did her so dirty in next movie, I was beyond disappointed, it was really sad, because of how badly done it was. :( But, we'll always have this one.
