  • This is the culmination of a year of work. It's obviously premium level Minecraft content.
Also the car is completely untuned and we have zero experience, but god was this fun.

Something that may vastly improve the way that car shifts. It requires removal for the upgrade though. But after you have removed the transmission, make sure it's degreased thoroughly and sitting level on a rolling stand. Place both hands on the bell housing and firmly push that sob to the side, then slide a Torqueflite 727 underneath the car and bolt it in place. 😜

Coat your carb gaskets with either chapstick or grease, it really helps stop the gasket from sticking. It has saved me a ton over the years not having to buy gaskets everytime you take the carb apart.

Austin you guys did just fine first time out, don’t think your jetting is to far off 6.5 power valve on the primary side is a good base with that combo, real important that you have 34 to 36 deg total timing in buy 3500, long as no ping, spend the money on fresh plugs before every track day. You got to get the car to launch at least 3000 or it will bog every time. Also have you tried running it with out air cleaner on. It almost sounded like it was starving for air?

So proud of you for using the correct tool for changing the jets! When the slots get wallered out from using a screwdriver, it does change the flow. Now, if you use a flat tip screwdriver that is WIDER than the slot, you'll be fine if you don't have the tool.

You can get Bosch Platinum spark plugs for a 360 Magnum. They are anti-fouling. I tried NGK plugs in several different heat ranges in my 440 six pack. It fouled them all, no matter how I jetted the center carb. I installed the Bosch plugs, which had no specific heat range. They burn super clean, and my engine never ran better!

I sure hope when you guys were reading the plugs- you didn't just stop the car after driving normally on the street and pull the plugs to read them? You do understand how and what a high-speed plug chop is. You run the car hard up to max RPM, then cut the ignition off and drift/coast to a stop, then you pull the plugs to read them, otherwise you are just reading the plugs on idle mixture.

Not a bad first run. After it "fell on its face" as Austin put it, the car really wanted to get up and go. You'll learn, make it better, and go faster. Will NNN be a quarter mile track? I feel like that 360 would shine best at a quarter mile.

The joys of a manual transmission, keep practicing. Its an art getting the right rpm, bring the cluch up to the point of moving the car, then stomp the gas and literally side stepping the clutch at same instant! I like you attitude: the car fell on its face, I did no tuning, let's run it again!

  • @olsketchmo

Ya remove a Holley from the car to mess with it, takes like 90 seconds, and then work on it off the car man, on a carb stand or 4x 5/16 Bolts & nuts man... Take it off, turn it upside down over the ground, rock it back & forth to empty it while you work the pumps with your thumbs, and then flip it back over, put it on a stand, and work on it like you have some sense man..., then put it back on, and go to town. Peace Y'all

God do I hate to watch a whole drag video only to discover - NO TIME SLIP! Don't wuss out, spill the beans so we can see the incrementals of 60' etc. Myself, I would side step the clutch at about 4,000 rpm. If it spun hard then I might drop the launch rpms to 3,500. If it only spun a little when launching at 4,000 rpm then I would drop back about 200 rpm. With practice you will be launching hard and without any bog. If you are launching at 2,000 to 2,500 rpm that is too low. Irridium plugs are just wrong for drag racing - you will have the best spark plug heat range with a regular copper core spark plug. Next time don't wuss out - rev it up and drop the clutch until you find its sweet spot. Also next time: show your damn time slip!

    • @DaddysMoneyGarage

That carb can not meter the fuel if the vacuum is bouncing all over the place at idle; you have got to get the idle up off the lope of the cam shaft and get a solid vacuum signal at idle before you can start to tune anything. You want the carb idling in the idle circuit with a steady vacuum signal - go see Uncle T....

Find an Autolite Racing plug ($4) that will fit, in the highest heat range you can get. You're running 2 heat ranges cold because you might, someday, run Nitrous? In the meantime your plugs are oily black fouled junk. A HOTTER plug, one that allows the electrode and ground strap to heat up to a temp that burns off the excess fuel and oil deposits should self clean. Like your Mapp gas does outside the cylinder, only while you drive. If you start burning back the electrode and strap, then go a range colder. And get an A/F gauge, anyone can weld in a bung. Good luck

    • @DaddysMoneyGarage
      @DaddysMoneyGarage  2 роки тому

We're running the plugs its going to use for when it is on the nitrous so we can set it up to where once its running good N/A, its just a matter of hitting it with the spray. The engine is purpose built for nitrous and once its set up properly that's what it will be getting every time.
Also yeah I have a feeling eventually Jon is gonna end up wiring up an AFR gauge lol.

Seriously need to work on that shifting. Get Tony to help you learn how to power shift. There was like 2 second delays between gears, but for your first time, you did just fine brother & you'll only get better. You need to slam them gears. Wishing you the best.

Thanks man! I know I shifted it slow but it was for self preservation lol. I’m a novice but I’ll get more comfortable.

Don’t use chapstick. Its turns into glue when you heat up the engine. Use grease or vaseline.
