@lyndabennett6017 Hardline has been around since early 1990's. They never got the attention they should of gotten back then. They kinda dissappear and later showed back up years later.
Easily my favorite Hardline song, and the video is great and fun as well, it's a shame that if this had came out roughly five years earlier Hardline would've probably been a household name
Props to whomever produced/ mixed this final version. The evolution of this song illustrates why any plan needs a team to pull it off. Each prior version had its highlights. This one ( the one performed live to this day. Hot blondes included) is utter perfection.
Neal Schon was doing other work in the 80s with 2 other bands, and this wasn't even a thought in the 80s for him. And Dean Castronovo was busy as well with other projects. The band formed around 91.
*Now this has got to be one of the best songs ever that came from this amazingly talented band... Hardline rocks this solid.... just bought a new cd today... Love Hardline!!*
Just recently found out about this song thanks to a short by Rikki Thrash. I decided to check it out, and oh my gosh, I just can't get enough of it!!!❤❤❤❤
I’ve got Sirius xm and I really only listen to hairband! This song came on and I love it! Never heard it before but it’s one of my favorites now! Love 80s hairband! I feel I didn’t appreciate it growing up like I do now!
I can agree with this. All I've been hearing on the radio is auto tuned singers with an electric piano and drum beat in the background (sometimes an acoustic guitar and a celebrity). So I don't bother listening to the radio or listening to what my friends think "brilliantly made music" is and listen to some Crush 40 and Hardline instead!
I remember seeing them on MTV Headbangers Ball…. Great band and great album!!! The 80’s hair bands will never be topped in my opinion! Glad I grew up in that era and didn’t miss out on all the great music
Saw them at Rockys rock club in Charlotte NC way back 91 I think. The lead singer was cool. He was hanging out at the bar after the set. He was cool as hell. Regular dude.
Rocky's.. That's a blast from the past. Went there many times as well as its sister Club in Hickory NC called Cadillacs. This is where Firehouse got their start.
@@lyndabennett6017 Listen to Crush 40, it's another band with a Hardline vocalist. He and guitarist Jun Senue sing songs for the Dream Book game and their songs are great: long live the shadow, I am all of me, live and learn, open your heart, your world, what I am made of, and a bunch of others.x
Saw them open up for Mr. Big in '91. Mr. Big was forced off the stage after their 3rd song when the whole arena was yelling Hardline over and over again. Then Hardline came back out and played the whole first album again. It was unbelievable.
Vocals oscillates between Sabastian Bach of Skid Row, Klaus Mein, Paul Stanley and Johnny Gioeli. Beautiful Composition. Love it. I was 21 when this song got released.
Gioli and Schon… match made in heaven… Gioli has an incredibly unique tone… Schon’s guitar is unmistakable… Neil never had to go back to Journey… imagine if he put out a few albums with this Hardline lineup
Hard to believe this song came out when I was 18. Haven't heard it in decades...and rediscoving it again years later. Love it as much as I did then. Keep rockin' guys!
Hard to believe it's 32 years old! I was just driving around listening to Hairbangers Ball on the radio when this song came on. I haven't heard it in decades either. I had to come home, turn on UA-cam and hear it again!

Thank you HairNation for reintroducing me to Hardline and this song. Great song to listen to and even more fun to jam on guitar to. Wish these guys would have blown up!!! Yaaaarrrrrrrg
I know musicians hate being compared but Johnny has that awesome touch and feel of Robin MacAuley in his vocals here. Great song that came out at the time when great rock was sadly being deliberately undermined by most of the industry.
Yeah I thought that it was Robin singing but knew that he wasn’t in this band. I’ve been listening to him since his band Grand Prix in 1982 and his voice still sounds great today.
It's funny I always knew there was a band called hardline with Neal schon but I never check them out. In the other hand I always loved the Axel rudi pell music and of course I knew Johnny and his voice very well, and now I find out that actually Johnny was the singer of hardline. So now I'm for sure interested in this band. Thanks
I love the music of hardline, and I love sitting with my headphones on a hearing the amazing vocals of Johnny. I have my boyfriend to thank for showing me this amazing band
They're still making great music. I particularly recommend "Fever Dreams" from their later stuff. Really awesome. Granted, it is a different lineup. But still awesome.
I’ve heard this before but never could catch there name I recognize guitar player from journey ans can pick up that sound a little in the guitar but that singer is vicious hope they do something again !
Have heard this song many times. Never knew who it was. Now I do. Guess these guys missed their Bog Hair 80's window. Their first album in 1992? Hell, by this time Grunge already made it's way into the spotlight of the music scene.
Still rocking in 2024
Right here
Hell yes!
☝️
80s is the best ! ❤😢😮
❤
Hard to top this album. Still rocking in 2023 🤘
Same here brother
one of my favorite albums. its really a masterpiece
Este tema lo tiene todo mortal
I still love this!!!
And will keep on rocking 4ever 🤘🏻
One of the most underrated, though best hard rock songs ever!
Si una gran canción de los maravillosos 80
Truth!
2024 here 🫡
Discovering this band for the 1st time! What an EPIC experience 🎵😎👏🌟
HOT!!
Yes me too they are amazing 🤩
Enjoy!!!
The singer now sings with the Axel Rudi Pell band. One of my favorites is Bonnie Tyler and him singing Love's Holding On.
Great song! Can’t beat these metal bands. There is no music like this today!
Got that So Right lol
80s hard rock will always be the best music 🎸🤘
Amen BROTHER 👌 👍 🔥 🎸👏
Такого шикарного звучания сегодня нет.
I’m glad it came out 5 years late because it stands alone and tells grunge “you will never top this”
He gets it ☝️
@He does, indeed. poserwanabe
F*ck grunge, Cobain blew his brains out.. depressing music 🎶
Grunge didn’t kill “hair metal” ( hate the term). Poison did
WELL JUST FOUND THIS BY ACCIDENT ON YOU TUBE 😮😮 NEVER HEARD OF THEM OR THIS SONG😢BUT OMG ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT 🤟🤟
@lyndabennett6017 Hardline has been around since early 1990's. They never got the attention they should of gotten back then. They kinda dissappear and later showed back up years later.
Great Band, with the Amazing "Deen Castronovo"!!
Probably one of the best singers of this music's era that not many have heard of.
Awesome vocals!
He's with Axel Rudi Pell
Very!
Wow, that's real rock. Neal Schon is a monster talent. Always the perfect balance of tasteful songwriting and blazing guitar.
Awesome. Perfect really. If this came out just a few years earlier, in the 80’s, he would have been a superstar.
They were out in the 80's. Just like Pantera and Alice in Chains and Nirvana were all out in the 80's too.
This was 1992. So no, Johnny wasn’t out in the 80s
Neal Schon was doing other work in the 80s with 2 other bands, and this wasn't even a thought in the 80s for him. And Dean Castronovo was busy as well with other projects. The band formed around 91.
Hell Yeah! Still here 2019 🤘❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

One of the best vocalists of hard rock genre.
Couldn’t AGREE MORE
*Now this has got to be one of the best songs ever that came from this amazingly talented band... Hardline rocks this solid.... just bought a new cd today... Love Hardline!!*
Tienes razón una gran canción de los maravillosos 80
May I recommend another band, crush 40.
Just in case you didn't know, this was a cover by them. Originally written and recorded by the band Streetheart first.
@@darrenbrooks1443 *Thanks for your imput* 👍😁
@@trinitytrin5265 And the Danny Spanos version is even better. Although a little bit more "rock". Not that polished.
32 years later and that hook is STILL once of the sweetest tasting melodies you'll EVER hear. What a bangin' good track!
Just recently found out about this song thanks to a short by Rikki Thrash. I decided to check it out, and oh my gosh, I just can't get enough of it!!!❤❤❤❤
absolute bomb,my mood just get better everytime i hear this song, love it
I’ve got Sirius xm and I really only listen to hairband! This song came on and I love it! Never heard it before but it’s one of my favorites now! Love 80s hairband! I feel I didn’t appreciate it growing up like I do now!
No foolin'? Same here. It's 7:55 pm on 2/4/24 here. Rock on, girl.
Same here!! And I thought I knew ALL hairbands!
One of the anthems of the melodic rock era,it's just a pity radio stations here in ireland don't know good music when they hear it,
I can agree with this.
1 of the Best Songs Ever...this Band was so Amazing!
Neil Schon get it , love his guitar playing and love the energy of this song , Take me back to the 80s
But it's from 1992 LOL
Heard this song for the first time today. Had to look it up, lol.
I remember seeing them on MTV Headbangers Ball…. Great band and great album!!! The 80’s hair bands will never be topped in my opinion! Glad I grew up in that era and didn’t miss out on all the great music
Can we talk about how smoking hot Johnny was & still is ? He still has an amazing voice too !! ❤❤❤
Easily one of the best rock vocalists......ever!
@@keybdman yes he definitely is! He doesn't get the recognition that he deserves either
You can talk about it. I ain't talking about another man being hot. 🖕🏾👊🏽👎🏼 what's wrong with you? I wasn't raised by a single mother.
Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, Johnny Gioeli, amazing band, amazing musicians, amazing songs! Still rockin me after all these years! 🤘🏽
Omg I still love this song and I’m 58!!

I just love Johnny with long hair 😂 oww, I wish radio stations in Panama knew this song and this awesome band!
Wow, !!! nothing today can compare. What a shame we don't have more bands like this.

My god, I got chills when I heard this. Haven't listened in years.
I had forgotten about this song until I heard it the other day on Sirius. Great hair, great vocals, great guitar work.

Lyrics
It's been too long since the last rain
Still the stars sizzle hot in the sky
And there undressed in the shadows
Stands my sweet Cherie hiding from July
And all night you kept me up
Up all night
Hoping that I could make you mine
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
Isn't my love, strong enough
I'm ready to rock you long and rough
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
I'm going crazy (yeah)
I can't wait, for October
When the breeze, from the lake, she's blowing cold
Well maybe she'll need me, for some shelter
When the campfire dies and the tall tales have been told (yeah)
And all night, I've been workin' overtime
Hoping that I could make you, mine
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
Isn't my love, strong enough
I'm ready to rock you long and rough
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
I'm going crazy
And all night, I've been workin' overtime
Hoping that I could make you, mine
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
Isn't my love, strong enough
I'm ready to rock you long and rough
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
I want what you've got all over me
Isn't my love, strong enough
I'm ready to rock you long and rough
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie
Cherie (Cherie ay, yeah)
You're gettin' me hot, Cherie (you're gettin' me hot baby, Cherie)
Isn't my love, strong enough
I'm ready to rock you long and rough
