Great channel, a real gem. Starting up after a major repair is just as exciting as sending a new program from CAM to the lathe or mill, LOL. Especially when I started my job about a year ago I was crapping my pants every time! Keep up the good work and cheers from Holland.
Over 210K on a 2014 Frontier SV 4x4. Only thing that has needed replacement has been the crank sensor, the one on the passenger side of the block. Literally one bolt to replace. Don't even have to remove the wheel well shroud it just bends out of the way. Got a wheel bearing coming up, and after that probably a front-end. Despite towing across the USA, up the rockies, and all sorts of nonsense the truck has been rock solid. OEM brakes lasted to 150K before they were down to 1/4" of pad material and I replaced them. The truck has been a real workhorse. Cheap arse interior look and feel, but rock-solid where it counted. A note, these engines perform better with premium. This is especially noticeable while towing a load. But in general drive-ability the V6 will have significantly improved throttle response and power over the whole RPM range. You can light the tires up easily.
You’re right about using higher octane gas. I’ve been driving Nissans since I was in high school (I’m about to turn 51 for context) and discovered this “performance upgrade” with my ‘99 Altima GXE! It was a former rental car from Budget with 12k miles when I bought it and I sold it close to 240k miles. Beyond routine maintenance, it was a great car!
Love your videos, man I have owned a Nissan Titan last week or so will more like last month. I had to put a new rear dif on have a rebuilt transmission and I have about 171K on it. I love the thing though and it’s got a 6 inch lift still in its hometown Michigan Macomb though not Detroit, but not far from
Obviously. The Original setup also warms up the trans fluid from the radiator. Now there’s no warm up help and instead, it’s getting hit with COOL AIR the entire time. 🤔🤨 that ain’t good, without a thermostat. 🤦🏻♂️
He could and should add a thermostat but honestly most people that install these on trucks don't so idk 🤷♂️ maybe transmission only gets damaged from too much heat and not from being too cold?
Switching to 100% Synthetic Oil And Fluids. A Low Temp 160 Degree Thermostat with a bigger radiator and adding an oil catch can are the first things anyone should do to their engine if they want it to go 300,000 miles or more. Or Simplify buy a car built from 2001 - 2010. The best decade of the best built cars by every manufacturer. Today, you are just buying Bling.
Nice to know after buying a new vehicle for $60,000 you still have to spend another $5,000 or more to fix all the problems so it actually runs properly these days.
This has to be one of the best most in-depth and not half-assed channels I've ever seen on youtube in relation to transmission rebuilding.

What area of Virginia is Eddie in? I’d love to take my cars to him
I heard that transmission bypass make the gearbox oil too cold.

"Maybe we'll get rich from it, who knows?" lol
