This might have been the most wholesome inspiring video I've seen on UA-cam in a long time. The Wadsworth's set a high bar for the rest of us to strive towards!
Came for the construction, stayed for the wisdom.
Thank you Scott, Nate, Kelly and all other guests on the channel for spreading knowledge, joy and gratitude. It's always a pleasure.
Loved this video. Especially the ending. You, your children and grandchildren are richly blessed to have Kelly as the matriarch of the family. God bless you all.
I live in downtown Tokyo, so I don't have a garden like that, but I do grow stuff in containers, I've got potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, sage, and basil on the go right now!
Cheers from Tokyo!
Awesome, keep growing the wisdom, Jim, Oregon, USA
Awesome video but the end was very moving! Thank you for including it! As a young husband it really is so encouraging to see the older generation setting such a wonderful example for us.
Funny how I thought I was going to begin watching this channel mostly about construction, and it's SSSOOOOOO much more than that. Life lessons from a guy with a hammer and a Kubota. Who knew? 😀
Thank you Scott.
I breed tomatoes for fun! Any types that are your favourite? I'll send them over.
I am fond of Hungarian Hearts for canning and golden globes for burgers. A combination of the two could be spectacular.
Absolutely love what you've done with the space!
I think you showed a good middle way between a more nature friendly, messy regenerative, and the more conventional, orderly standard procedure way of gardening.
I also like the sweet words about your wife. Very touching. :)
Please do more gardening videos as well.
Your bride going wild, even in a family friendly way, sounds awesome. My compliments to your good lady.
You think that you may drive your family crazy by spending 45 minutes to lay out the garden?...lol... I Guarantee you drive them crazy!!, But that is the way you roll with everything and they love you for it. Actually, we all love you for being so structured and organized and that's why we watch you.
I mean, sure you can eye ball it all, but that little investment of time into lining things up, ends with a huge aesthetic benefit when it's all grown out. There's just something comforting about neat little rows of crops
You have brought tears to my eyes with your reflection.
I lost my wife to cobid almost two years ago it's been a hard time keeping it together with the two kids she left behind. I was married to her for only seven years
And I understand the importance of that virtues woman.
I would like to hear your story.
What a delightful video to watch! Starting my day with a breath of fresh air from that garden =)
At first I thought this was an out of season video but then I saw that it was a good start to finish process on the garden. Every year when I put my garden in I am always optimistic and enthusiastic and this year has been a very good year.
Thank you for your videos. It reminded me of the greatest Gardener who created the 1st garden where man lost everything. But also reminded me of the scene at the garden of Gethsemane where the same Gardener stayed the course to give us the opportunity to gain back what was lost and for Him to be the first fruit of many! God bless you and your families.
I'd love to learn more about your watering system! Thanks for sharing your garden with us!
My wife is a great gardener. I’m a carpenter and I don’t have the patience for tasks like weeding and preserving food but I try to help. I haul composted manure from the now retired feed lots and till and help some but it’s all my wife. Our adult children come home with boxes of empty jars and exchange them in the basement for full jars of canned goods. That’s when it’s all worth it.👍🏻
Amazing garden! You are a lucky man to have found a woman and wife like that. It took a second go-around for me to get that lucky but man was it worth it!
Once I heard you used red clover as a cover crop I called my Co-Op to find out about it. I’m doing that as a organic fertilizer along with my hot compost I did.
This is NOT to belittle the knowledge you folks so graciously impart as I have thoroughly appreciated that, but I have to say I LOVE the music you use on these videos...GREAT videos all!
Great video Scott. Your sprinkling of wisdom, scripture, proverbs, and the like are so grounding. Your videos should be mandatory to watch for trade schools, families, and individuals.
Keep up the goid work.
Jeff
As I was watching I was thinking what a blessing it was for you to have a partner who also enjoys being outside and being productive.
Great story team. Nice job putting it together Nate.
I put my first garden ever on my property this year. I tilled the lawn, made rows and put in seed. It was so gratifying to get in the soil and grow food. We didn't yield much, about 10 lbs of carrots, and probably 50 lbs of potatoes. A couple of zucchini. Lots of lettuce. My family and I live in Northern British Columbia, limited daylight and growing season but it can work. I have had a rough marriage. Its been very rocky the last number of years due to my own arrogance and pride. I'm looking forward to a future of healing and growing together.
You are an absolute inspiration ! Thank you
Just precious. Thank you for sharing about your garden and Kelly too. How blessed you are! 🙏
as the old saying goes.... behind every great man there be a great woman,,,,,,,,,,,, keep up the great work. and i for one will keep watching..
You guys did an amazing job there. You are a lucky man and congratulations on the 44 years.
Where are your strawberries 🍓?
Great work
The ending gave me goosebumps!
Excellent as always
There are few things better than growing your own. Great to see Mrs EC as well. Keep up the good work
Love it! Fortunately I'm blessed to have a wonderful wife like you do! Now I need to get me some worm castings!
finest thing ever expressed on the channel. Bless Mrs. EC!
Wow....you guys live in paradise I hope you realise. Blessed
Dear Scott,
You brought a meaningful tear to my eye, and I appreciate it a lot, thank you.
All the very best,
Josh
You lifted my spirits, from the chasm of thought of the upcoming winter.
Thank you, God bless
Dang it! I was just watching this for some entertainment while I was eating but that ending spark feelings and desires. Well done!
One of the best UA-cam videos in a while from all the channels I watch. Thanks
Amen brother truer words are rarely heard, be blessed
The comments at the end really choked me, beautiful words.
This is my favorite video of yours so far Sir. My wife is my heart and I wouldn't be 1/4 the man I am without her.
This video was a nice change from the sales pitch laden videos of recent. I hope this is the channel getting back to what it does best: Spreading wisdom.
Strong finish... God Bless!
I love your closing statement! Long lasting Marriages have seemed to go by the wayside these days! God bless you and your wife!
Again another video that inspires. And a great tip on planting potatoes comfortably. Well done.
Great respect. On many fronts
Nice to see an old fashioned garden, there's nothing like growing your own food!
I love your old Japanese Kubota workhorse tractor 👌🏼 that’s my dream tractor. Zero maintenance
I love this channel, I’m so glad I found it.
Of all your videos, this one may have touched me the most. The joy of growing is something I have recently found. I hope to improve upon it with the knowledge you share. Going to the backyard and grabbing some vegetables for dinner is beyond rewarding. I continually learn something new in every one of your videos. I been watching for years. Thank you to you and your family and friends......and keep up the good work!
More Kelly on the channel please! She's great!
Kelly completes you!! Your are blessed!!
This spring, I planted 80 potatoes in my back yard after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. I then covered them with leaves, grass, leaves and grass from other people's yards to keep in the moisture and feed nutrients. They are 3 feet tall producing huge potatoes with minimal watering throughout the summer since I worked out town. Next year I'll double it. Great work on the clover cover crop!
Be careful. If other people's yards are sprayed with roundup or other herbicide, it can affect your own crops, and stay in the soil for a lot longer than advertised.
@@jum5238 Good advice. Thanks for the caution. I just find it ironic that people rake and bag up their nutrients...while I am happy to take them.
Love the low/no dig practices and the cover cropping you did. Killer video!!
I hope my garden can look more like that next year.
You have so much space to expand your garden (also a farm). Have you considered asparagus, which is a perennial, and should provide decades of spring cuttings? Besides the mint compost, how do you compost table scraps?
Love this video, and I shared it too. And then the kicker scripture at the end,☝️🌄 Thank you more than I can say 👌
Walter
Awesome wife- awesome video- thank you! God is good! 😊
13:35 AMEN! "Behind every great man is a greater woman. " Can't remember who said it but I think it's true.
Great video. That narration at the end. Man, talk about a couple that like Paul said to the Thessalonians made it their ambition to live a quiet life and do good work with their hands. May I be fortunate enough to continue following in their footsteps. Love your channel and please keep up the good work. By the way, I bought a pair of die hard boots tonight because of you. You should get that commission. Lol
Looks good!
Cover crops and worm castings...beautiful organic practices. Why am I not surprised....you do everything well! Well done again!
Your homestead is absolutely gorgeous! You and your wife have really built a legacy. You are an upstanding man who has been richly blessed! God bless you and your family!
HELLO from las Vegas Nevada
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Great video, another option for those who don’t want to order a greenhouse is to use an easy up with sides on it if you have one.
This was a great video to watch with you and your family. You have a great way of narrating your videos that really hits home. Keep up the good work, and God bless!!
I have the same tractor and it does a very good job at all the little jobs our bigger equipment couldn't do. I added a tiller, rotary chopper for small stuff and a Land Plane for stone driveways, no pot holes anymore. 😁
Well said ending, sir.
Garden looks great. We would all do well to spend the time cultivating our family lives as you all have. God bless.
Great vid all around, but I love what you said about your wife the most. Thanks for all you take time to share.
what a nice video. good job, scott and wife.
for me it all started when you repaired a persons garage door Frame, ( leverage ) a few pieces of lumber for leverage. the geometry in my Brain was . I just say I've been a huge fan for many years now .. been on my own for over 30 + years now and the modern computer does help with my own education Joe from California
My dear sweet farmer granny (may she rest in peace)
had 2 giant gardens each & every year. Her small one
was only 1 acre while the big one was 2 acre. She'd get
grandad to hitch up the old Farmall and plow her
gardens then she'd go after them with her front tine tiller.
She planted alot of EVERYTHING. Then, she would can
most of it. She canned & stored it all in her root cellar.
People around her county would drop in & buy a jar or 2
or 3 of this, that or the other. She had quite a nice little
business going. Granny was quite a hard worker.
!
You’ve inspired me. Thank you.
This is why we love EC! You all cover such a broad range of interest- very inspiring.
Mazel Tov, Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth. To you, you family, your friends, and your community.
Awesome video! As someone who has a farming channel. I watched your channel for the building part of your channel.
But now it is clear to me I just like all your videos. Awesome work on and off the camera. My wife just lost her grandmother. But her grandfather is still with us. It is truly an inspiration to see people like them and your family who stay together nomatter what.
Thay were together 65 years.
So good. So true. Thanks.
Thank you Kelly & Scotty great video enjoyed it immensely.
Keep up the Good Work.
Be Blessed I figure you already are.
Praise YAHWEH ELOHIM !
Inspiring. Always love watching your videos. It is a great way to relax and reflect on what is important in the world. By the sweat of thy brow. Thank you.
Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful.
Amen brother - well done.
Another all time EC classic. Thank you for sharing
Amen and well said
God bless you and your family
12:13 Great looking produce! I like it that the whole family helps in the video making as well. Mrs Craftsman also has a lovely voice
So great! I love the attention to detail. Thanks for sharing!
My beautiful green thick lush weed free lawn is full of work castings. You know you've done good when nature's best areator and it's byproduct.
I remember one year I had to kill off the lawn and start over it poured one night and was worried my Oregon grown Kentucky Bluegrass blue label seed had been washed away and what I saw astonished me the grass was moving so I got out my flashligh hand we hand hundreds of thousands of worms such a beautiful sight I knew for sure my soil was healthy from those pesky professional grade fertilizer the worms loved
Scott, you get me choked up with how you talk about your bride and your family.
I am so grateful that I, and my bride, met you. Steve Milovich.
Hi Steve! Good to hear from you! K
Thank you for sharing your garden with us. We lost everything we planted this year from drought, then from deer with nothing else to eat.
Glad to see your hard work pay off! I surely miss my Grandparents vegetable gardens in the summer. We were poor but never hungry nor without family.❤
Roy and Nat - you guys are so inspirational. I love your ‘can do’ and positive attitude towards all your endeavours. As Roy says ‘keep up the good work”
Andy in Australia
That stool under Kelly's chest when planting potatoes-- that's such a back saver! I'll be telling my mom and mother-in-law about that.
You’re truly blessed.
Enjoyed the video. Keep them coming.
Thank you! For sharing
Good comments at the end! Thanks.
Great wholesome content... thank you for your time and effort that this required.
Long life to you, your wife and rest of the family...
Such a beautiful thing, all of it. Thanks
I like the carpenters paper idea might have to try that!
Scott and Kelly what an awesome garden! The use of builders paper is great and I'll have to try it next season! Enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
