I worked in fast food and one lady came in, bought her boyfriend a meal, and screamed at her hungry daughter to go outside. The poor child looked around 3 or four years old and even I was startled at this woman yelling. I hate that so much

When I take my son out to eat or to get ice cream or to do anything. I'm doing this because I want him to have a good time. He is not a spoiled kid so he appreciates everything I do for him. But there's no way in hell I would ever order myself something without him ordering first. If it turns out I could only afford one thing. He's the one eating not me. Now after all this time he is 15 and if I don't order something he always insists on sharing it with me, I don't ever want him to give up anything for me but when I take a few bites he always smiles and I can tell that he feels like he did something good and that's all I ask for. Also think about it. He could’ve bought 2 $8 ice creams for both of them, but he bought a $16 dollar one & shared it. They still both got ice cream and it cost the same, so it wasn’t like he was being cheap. If you think about it like that, it’s not that bad.

These two friends were on a lunch and brought their kids.. It seemed like they didn’t even want the kids there, just couldn’t help it, and made sure the kids got super cheap meals, and then when it was time for dessert, got themselves these amazing desserts while expecting the kids to watch and eat nothing
The kids were too young to understand any lesson they could’ve been trying to teach them and from their demeanor and how they treated the kids, I don’t think this was some humbling life experience they were trying as a teaching moment.. From the entire encounter, it seemed like it was just cause they didn’t think the kids were worth getting dessert for, and they were enjoying that they were able to get the kids to cry so easily by ordering amazing desserts and making a huge deal that they couldn’t have any, not a bite..
I took these minuscule brownies we’d give out sometimes for free, and asked the kids if they wanted to make it special and add whipped cream, sprinkles, hot fudge, etc, shit that we’re probably not supposed to do but they’d do it for me as a kid and I remembered how happy it made me
The parents were sus about my attempts, yea because they were worried I’d charge them, which I assured them I wouldn’t, but more-so I think they legit just wanted to pull a power move on their kids, and were annoyed that they weren’t sobbing over ice cream anymore.. Which they were laughing at them for, which made the kids cry more..
The tip was shit, but the look on the kids’ face when the desserts came out made it worth it

It was always past 7pm, sometimes even almost 10pm, and he would expect someone to "hook him up with a deal". Those were his words, not mine. It infuriated me that one of the managers would always cave and find some random deal in the system, one that wouldn't even be applicable at the time, to give him. He also would order food to his preferences that would be extra expensive while trying to get his daughter the cheapest thing possible. And if he couldn't get a deal, it would be the thing his daughter likes, that gets taken off the order. And he would make sure we knew, like it was our fault he couldn't afford her likes. While his daughter would sit there looking tired and irritable as F. Not to mention, she was in pajamas every time, and this was in a Wisconsin city where most of the year the sun was set by the time they came in. So it's not like it was warm for her.

If you can't follow through and get them a treat. It's like you're begging for drama. Especially if you can only afford a treat for yourself.
If you can't afford to get a kid something that's more of a luxury, and not a necessity. Just don't bring them. Sure it might be a bit harsh on the kids end. But as long as you're a good parent, they won't grow up and be bitter about it. They'll learn that money is difficult to consistently make, raising kids is hard & exhausting, and that wants and needs are two completely different things.

This is a wakeup call for the fiance. If he's getting himself some extravagant icecream. His fiance a simple cone and his future step-daughter gets nothing now, it will be like this the entire relationship.

@@junior_-3218 pretty sure the moral of the story is, if you have more than you need, give back to those who need it more & don't take more than you need to give others an opportunity as well; and if you don't have enough to share, then be humble and greatful about what you do have. This can apply to anything - food, clothes, money. It can apply to abstract concepts as well, such as love, time, knowledge, and so on.

      I don't follow that rule
I have toys that I never share no matter who's kid it is
The reason why is because I make my own toys and I don't want stupid kids breaking them and ruining them just because they are playing with it
And alot of kids wanted to play with them as I make them highly detailed (most of them are lego and I make my own toys out of lego) and they mean alot to me and they are special to me as nobody else in the world has them but me and as the only one who has these exclusives I don't want to share them because if I made them I shouldn't have to share them and nobody can tell me otherwise

We went to get ice cream once and didn’t get the kids anything. *However! That happened because we all were on our way home and the kids knew there’d be a stop for ice cream. When they were fighting and yelling, they were warned to quit or not get ice cream. They got their warning but continued to fight and argue. My husband and I got ice cream and the kids went without. Gotta punish bad behavior and follow through with threatened punishments.
