I’m not crying, you’re crying :(
It was a privilege to be on this flight for me as well and it was great to talk with you at the gate Jeb!
Awesome to meet you! Thanks for saying hi!
so sad I have wanted to go on a Delta Boeing 777 :(

@@GreenerGrass Delta Is Not Retiring Their 777-200s, they Still have them in their fleet. If they’re retiring them they should lease them to prime air
The “connect in Atlanta” joke is often applied to Frankfurt.
Congratulations 🎉👏 of being the top comment 👍😁 (as of now 😈)
Those planes have a special place in my heart. My dad worked at Boeing, and the 777 program was the last he worked on before passing away.
I’m sorry for your loss 😢😢❤

Delta: Refurbishes entire 777 fleet with each plane costing 100 million dollars to refurbish.
Covid19 : I don't like it.
😂😂😂
100 Mil each??? I thought it was for the entire fleet.
Now they are buying Airbus airliners.
We should not bailout or provide stimulus to companies that don't but BOEING.
@@747heavyboeing3 EU should not bailout any airliner buying American.
@@747heavyboeing3 Are you kidding? At this point in time, Airbus' product lineup and performance are superior to Boeing's. Tax payer money should be spent wisely. The way Delta is extracting good deals from Airbus is the best way to spend tax payer money.
Ironically Delta’s 777 retirement comes 16 years to the day after Air Canada retired their final 747’s after a flight from FRA-YYZ
10/31 is a common induction and retirement day, even for crew members
Who else agrees that this guy is the most entertaining plane UA-cam I am a big fan of aircraft and hope I can open my own airplane
Sam Chui: am i a joke to you
@@Lee247Jamaica hmmm brooks and sam are equal imo, they are also seen together in one of the videos too
man i teared up this was a really cool airplane i admired what a shame its being retired so early R.I.P. 777
There’s still a good chance you might see a 777x in Delta colors.
what do you mean rip 777? there’s a bunch of other airlines still operating them
I hear you also. The 777s are really really nice. I was scared when I first saw 777s fly the long distance with those two big engines. But that aircraft can fly. I am from United so, I understand those emotions about this.
@@afcgeo882 You know Delta is going full airbus :)
@@afcgeo882 I am pretty sure they won’t get the 777X
Yes, it is so sad to see all of those planes retire due to the pandemic. The MD-88 and Boeing 777 are some of Delta's icons and it is sad to see them go all of a sudden, but they will never be forgotten. When all goes back to normal, ATL just won't be the same.
R.I.P it was the best airplane. :’(
My favorite aircraft of all time.
The engine is beautiful!
no the 757 is defo
I have so missed flying Delta. As a platinum medallion member I am itching to get back into the sky!
We are here when you need us.
I'll never forget the time I boarded a Delta 777-200LR from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Tokyo-Narita (NRT), as it was part the long trek of my very first trip back to the Home Country of the Philippines. Everything you said about this holds true for so many us, and this iconic Aircraft meant so much. By far, this was the best looking out of the Boeing Fleet in my book and I absolutely miss it.
I had the opportunity to Fly on a 777 from Atlanta to Los Angeles in First/Business Class. What an amazing experience.
That was my Favorite plane ;(
RIP all of delta's 777
Such a sad time for a beautiful plane going away
And Delta was one of the few airlines where the economy cabin was laid out in a 3-3-3 giving the customer some width
I feel so lucky I was able to ride on one of their 777s before COVID ruined everything. I sure will miss them. I was able to ride on their A350 as well and the experience was really similar to the 777, so a good replacement is in line.
My first international flight was on a 777 (thai), my first flight in business was on a 777 (emirates), my most flown wide-body is a 777. An absolutely brilliant aircraft! The 747 for people from the 90s and 2000s
Both an Air France and a Delta 777 are what brought me across the Atlantic on my broader journey to and from Istanbul, Turkey, humbly in coach, for one of the most memorable six months of my life. Thanks buddy, You'll be missed!
This was not just an aircraft type for Delta, it was also Boeing's entry, to be competitive in world travel, Boeing put a lot on the line...it was the first aircraft designed fully by computer.
It's a sad day when any aircraft type is retired, this one prematurely at only 11 years old....it was just broken in...the triple-7 will still be flying for years to come with other carriers.
I got to ride the 777 back in 2000 and it was a nice, smooth ride.
Bon voyage 777!
That was the most beautiful plane in the most beautiful livery. I always imagined being a pilot, and flying it. It’s the aircraft that made me decide I’m going to be a pilot. And the plane was just retrofitted, it was such a shocking retirement. And I think it’s so sad that this plane, along with all planes retired during COVID, just don’t get the send off they deserve. They deserve water salutes, televised final flights, and plane spotters everywhere.
My first jet flight was in a 707. So much has changed in 50 years. Thank you for the video. 'Spin'
GSO is where I’m from. I moved to ATL to work for Delta 25 years ago. I’ve worked on every 737, 757, 767, 777 in our fleet at some point in my career. The 777 is a great aircraft. Boeing is a great company to deal with when it comes to repairs. We are truly going to miss this aircraft.
Great job, Jeb. Always quality content! I flew the DL 777 from LAX to SYD r/t a few years ago. Love the wonderfully powerful engines on take off. Keep up the good work!
Flown it a handful of times but perhaps the most memorable flight was MSP-NRT-SIN. Thanks for including the full engine start up, its a lovely sound.
My first 777 flight was from SFO-DEN with United back in 00. Great plane, fond memories, gratitude and hope I can fly on a 777 again. Another great video Jeb, love your work.
So sad to see them go ☹️. The triples were really great aircraft and it’s sad to see delta retire them. A few of them were only 11-12 years old. Great vid jeb! Glad you brought the final goodbye to my computer for me to watch. Safe travels and God bless!
I’m an in tears. This has been my second favorite airline and my favorite aircraft. I will miss you. When I’m older I have longed to be a pilot on this bird. Well... I guess i have to fly the United 777-300. Love ur vids!!!
As I said on your Insta post, It's extra sad because these aircraft had so much more to give. We all knew that the 747 and A340s were on the way out, but this, like the A380, is too young to be off to the aircraft boneyard. :( And sooo true about those engines starting up, and then that spool up is magical!
Jeb..thanks so much for a beautiful sendoff for Delta's B777. I took the early retirement package and recently retired (09/01/2020) as a Delta B777 Captain/Line Check Pilot. Your Captain on this flight was Captain Dutch Holland...really a great guy/pilot (Also a Line Check Pilot). The B777 was the best plane I've ever flown. It did everything well in terms of how much it could carry, how long long it could stay in the air and was never short of performance. I can't imagine these B777-200LR's not being picked up by someone at some point in the future. This is an amazing aircraft and like you mentioned, still relatively new. You did a great job of really telling a great story of this plane and how many lives have been affected by it's presence....thank you!
I’m going to ATL to planespot in about 3 hours.... I wish I got to see that beauty one more time 😭 :(
*wiping my eyes* From this retiree's perspective, you did us proud, Jeb. Thank you.
I loved the 777, it was so practical for Delta, and it's sad to see it go
Great video Jeb!! Thanks for sharing this awesome moment with all of us... Keep up the great work!
I remember making a point of going through Seattle on my way to Tampa back in 1994 to see the first 777 on the tarmac, still in Boeing factory livery. What a sight that was to see! Will never forget that. ☺️
You knocked that out of the park Jeb. Thank you so much for this video . I miss the 777 already .
Thanks for doing these videos, Jeb. They're appreciated by so many of us who couldn't be there.
One of your best videos! Aloha 777🤙🏼
Thanks for the great video to such a great plane for Delta, sorry to see it go. 777 is my all time favorite plane!
Really happy I got to fly on a Delta 777-200LR earlier this year in January from JFK-ATL. Plane was retrofitted and I even got a free upgrade to comfort plus! I’ll never forget the sound of those engines and how quickly we took off for such a big bird.
Beautiful. Emotional. Painful. Excellent work Mr Brooks.
Thanks for doing another video on these flights. Safe travels in the future.
It is sad to see the 777-200 go. At least we will still be able to enjoy the 767 for 5 more years. It was so much fun to watch the 777 taking off.
Fondly remember my 1st time on a B777 and on Deltas to boot . In 2004 I flew from Dublin Ireland to Orlando and connected via Atlanta. I deliberately prolonged my transit time to take one of Delta 777s from ATL to MCO. The reason for the trip was to start my pilot training with Delta Connection Academy in Sanford Orlando. Fast forward 16 years and I’m now a B777 Captain flying for a major Middle Eastern airline. Fantastic manufacturer and wonderful aircraft. Love your videos Jeb. Take care
One beautiful plane. My only trip I took was back in 2016 ATL-JNB-ATL, it was my longest flight until 2019 when I did DFW-HKG with AA.
Such a nice retrofit, sad to see that there will be many folks who won’t get to enjoy that experience. Great video Jeb, safe travels to ya!
Unbelievable, the new interiors look immaculate...
First the maddog and now this!
They are buying Scarebus products more.
Hard to believe. I remember when the 777 was brand new and what an amazing and revolutionary airplane it was. I still remember my first 777 flight - Denver to Las Vegas in a snowstorm. Just an amazing ride.
Delta no longer flying the 747 and the 777 is extremely sad for some reason
Awesome job as always Jeb! How people could "dislike" this content is beyond me!
Thanks so much!
Flew on the 777-200LR and ER several times; SIN-NRT and LAX-NRT in the old Business Elite herringbone config, and last year MSP-HND-MSP a couple times in Delta One Suite. I really enjoyed those flights. Great video!
I have flown the 777 with several different airlines, but most of these flights were on Delta. I will miss this aircraft very much! Nice video and thank you for sharing!
what a great video Jeb! gave me the chills!💙
Great vlog as always! Sad that they had to go. I love the 777. Delta has not been the inovator when it comes to buy new and untested aircraft. I can only think of the DC-9, 76, and the MD-88. I hope I am wrong. The bad ass sound of the GE 90-115 engine sounds like the deep piano keys! Man what a sound! Stay safe, and be safe!
Thank you for sharing.
Sad Day! :( I flew on the Spirt of Atlanta 777 in 2017 from LAX to ATL when my dad passed away. such a beautiful and Iconic aircraft. Sad to see it go.
This makes me so sad. Didn't realize. I flew on one from Chicago to London and we were on one of the first couple flights for the air craft. The service was great and the plane was awsome. My first and only time being in the uk. Thank you for sharing this.
Getting all emotional here.. It’s bittersweet. ❤
Thanks. Yes, the 777s are really nice. I am from United Airlines and I have loved working on them. Thanks again.
Yes, the GE engines are so nice.
Great job, Jeb. She is a beauty that will live in our minds and hearts forever.
Touching! I flew the LR in DL 1st between LAX ->SYD and JNB ->ATL on a round the world treat to myself and a friend! (It included 8 destinations in between on SkyTeam member airlines). SENSATIONAL DL product and crew! Flying Forward I #FlyDeltaJets!
Super sad to hear but an amazing video. Thank you!!!!
Only time I got to fly the refurbished 777 was LAX-SYD in C+ in the bulkhead. Honestly, the 15-hours passed by in no time. Pretty comfortable cabin for such a long flight. I know you're a Delta One flyer, Jeb, but for those of us in economy for long-haul, it was really great to see Delta keep the cabin 9 across instead of the more common 10 across.
Though they are a little wider than what's found elsewhere on their fleet, let's hope these newer seats and suites can find homes in upcoming A350 planes (the A350s still need C+ seats after all!).
4:06 I just love the sound of the engine. I could hear that all decades
As a recent subscriber, I would like to add a late comment. I had the opportunity to do the same flight in 2019 in first class (which I rarely fly). My girlfriend and I loved it. A great memory.
Dad: Son, why are u crying?
His son: *watches this video*
I will admit, delta is a good airline, but i will miss the iconic 777’s of them
R.I.P. Delta 777
Amazing video Jeb. You were able to capture all the beauty of flying on the 777. Never flew on DL but first time on a UA 777 back in '99, never felt the same about aviation after that! I just wish we could have heard the engine sound during takeoff :)
I spent 17 hours on one of those 777's going to Johannesburg a few years ago. What amazing machines.
Enjoyable video. You’re a wonderful man!
Bitter sweet moment. Was on this flight, glad I had the chance to meet you in the gate area before take off!
Jeb -a grand tribute to one of my favorite airplanes to fly on. The 777-300 has been my favorite model; unfortunately, Delta never flew those. It did all those things you described about moving families across borders (and Oceans), taking people to job interviews, flying newly married couples to honeymoons and just making business travel safe, enjoyable and comfortable. It is a shame that we lose this option for air travel now, but they may bring back these planes once global travel demand picks up. See you in the sky!
Its so sad to see the 777 is gone forever in Delta's fleet :( hopefully the A350 will do a good job at taking its place in the near future. The best memories I have of the 777 in deltas fleet is perhaps the iconic flights like from Atlanta to Johannesburg, New York to Dubai, and even Lax to Sydney Australia. And those GE90s, oh man the best engine sound in the world, I'm happy you agree 3:45 Thanks a lot for the video and cya in the sky! :D R.I.P 777-200 -1999-2020
such an amazing bird so many memories
i wasn't even interested in this topic, but I enjoy your videos so much that I decided to watch it and found it to be awesome, thank you!
Great video Jeb! It was great to meet you on this historic flight!
Thanks, Jeb for the memories. I, too, will miss the the 777. Hope you and your family are doing well. Judy Suiter
Thank you for posting, Jeb! I really wish I had gone on this flight now; I almost did but at least now I was able to go along ‘virtually’!
😀
B777 is ans will be forever my favorite plane, it is so big and beautiful.
This 777 was truly a remarkable plane and made a lasting impression. I remember last year on my way back from SYD to LAX, my girlfriend and I were surprised the day of and got upgraded to first. On top of this, it was my first international upgrade on a plane with lay flat seats and man, was the refurbished cabin and service impressive. Truly an unforgettable experience within itself. It’s sad to see her go. 😢
Did a Newark to New Delhi three yrs ago on a United 777 in business class to connect with a Thai Air to Bangkok. Loved the 777’s powerful thrust and rapid climbing ability.
Jeb another great vlog
It is sad they retired the 777 before it’s time
Jeb it’s sad to see Delta “ cost cutting” the catering especially when other airlines are bringing back or never cut catering
Second love the vids and I love aviation travel. Thanks Jeb
The Delta 777-200LR was my favorite plane. Saw it through replacing the 747 as DAL 295, flew on it many times from LAX to ATL and back, and even fly the "Spirit of Atlanta" livery on my PC simulator. She will be missed.
I flew ATL to LAX on the 777 in November 2019. It is a magnificent plane.
Fellow Triad resident here, and the 777 is a marvelous aircraft. I think the only aircraft I enjoy flying on more is the 787. Delta is my favorite airline, and I hope their future replacement will bring many more memories to everyone. Gotta subscribe to someone who uses PTI (GSO for those wanting an airport code) as their home base! Great video!
I flew in the Delta 777 last year from LAX to Sydney, I have to say it had a very good business class and the flight was very enjoyable. I wanted to fly the triple 7 again but sadly I was in SHOCK when I heard Delta decided to retire their 777s. I had a good memory aboard the aircraft and I will never forget that airplane trip. I will always remember one of the best planes in the sky from Delta's.
Definitely my favorite aircraft! I will miss the sound of that engine startup.
777 ON A DOMESTIC FLIGHT is still something to see but then again My first x-country was on Delta in a LOCKHEED TRI STAR..and that beautiful L 10-11 was a way ahead of its time BIRD and landing in Atlanta from Seattle, watching the huge wing going so high in a banked turn all this in 1982 while I was a teen contemplating a career. It definitely was life inspiring. in 2005 I almost got a ride on the 767 that was being used for flight 777 from Atlanta to Las Vegas back then but it didn't work out. I agree with the Captain when 2020 is over flying to the future and new generation of aviators and enthusiasts shall take to the skies for new dreams and destinations. Thanks for the memories!
I went on a retro fitted flight from LA to SYD in 2011, i didn't realize how cool it was until now!
Jeb, I feel the same way as you🙏. I dropped some tears when I heard the 747 was leaving production.😞♥
As a delta mechanic. The 777's were my babies. I work on all the ones that flew from msp to Japan. It's a good airplane that rarely gave us trouble. Mostly just routine maintenance.
The 777s are very good planes and I been on one once on a British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Atlanta.
Reminds me of your video of the 747 retirement flight. It's a sad day for AvGeeks like us.
Excellent videography and narration! I loved this aircraft, as an avgeek I used to collect the safety cards and got one of the 777-200LR.
Thank You Sir
Love Delta. Will miss. My daughter works for Coca Cola in Atlanta ? She is a Executive Assistant to one of the Vice Presidents that handle the Internal Affairs. She traveled often with work and the Company Fly’s Delta. Also my daughter and I travel together in the US and International. So Delta has been always our 1st Choice! Enjoyed watching as always.
Our International Flights have been Cape Town South Africa, Tokyo Japan ,. 🇫🇷 many trips to France, which is our Favorite Country. My daughter is Fluent in French😍
I had one of the craziest experiences of my life on an aircraft on one of these. I had error after error, and didn't make it to check in. I was supposed to fly on an A330, but it had left due to my lateness. A 777 turned around crossing the Atlantic due to a medical issue, and the captain agreed to take my mom and I while they refueled. Never gonna forget that!
What a lovely day!
I had many memories on the 777 when I was a 10 year old. Delta Airlines is what made me like flying. I only have a few photos now. The last time I flew the Delta 777 was to Honolulu from Atlanta.
Awsome man! Sad that they retired this aircraft.I would always remember seeing this plane fly over my house in the summer evenings! This was certainly a little more depressing then the Delta 747 retirement video
It seems like yesterday that I watched a documentary when Boeing delivered the very first 777 to United Airlines. I'm getting old.
21st Century Jet? At least that what it was called here in the UK. It can still be found on YT.
I remember the pilot of the first flight (John Cashman) - when asked about the best part of that first 777 flight, he replied: 'the landing' 😂
@@peterhastings703 Great documentary, Mid 90s were a different time for Boeing. Several times Cashman stood up to management when he thought things were going in the wrong direction and he got his way. A shame the pilots, engineers, etc didn't have the same influence and clout on the Mac program,
