I’m in Tokyo right now and used the DD intel to book The ANA room to get here last Wednesday…Can’t thank you enough!!! My wife and I have been travel hacking for 3-4 years but had never figured out how to get to the premium cabins. This was our first business class experience and now we are ruined. We couldn’t have done it without the newsletter. Subbed, rang the bell. 🙏🙏🙏
It’s so funny witnessing Kara become a “travel snob” & Nate being willing to spend “unnecessary” money for luxury experiences. I’ve been watching since almost the beginning when they traveled the world on the lowest possible budget. Watching the evolution has been really exciting as a loyal viewer who adores you guys. You truly deserve every luxury accommodation, lavish meal and experiences people like me only dream of 💜
I didn't realize how much of a distinct editing style Kara had until watching this and it helps me realize how much work she puts into every Kara and Nate video!
I believe they hired someone to do their edits now. They did a job posting awhile back and were looking for someone to take over/help with doing it while they traveled.
I’m really looking forward to the content on this channel! I’m subscribed to the newsletter and read it most days, but there’s something about a video that’s just easier for me to digest personally. The whole miles and points system(s) seems intentionally complicated/intimidating, I think you did a great job breaking down the trip in this video
I live vicariously through the two of you and it is a hoot! You put the other youtubers to shame.....not that shame is needed! Loved the video. Keep on rocking you two!
For me being a big Aviation Enthusiust, this channel is probably one of my new favorites even though I have only seen the first 2 that have came out. I can't wait for new content on both the Daily Drop channel and the Kara and Nate channel.
Signed up and the bonus is more Kara and Nate videos. What can I say, these two bring travel experience to the next level! ❤️ Thank you for the bonus hack 🥰 Keeping that one in my pocket. ❤️
Blows my mind that we would not experience this kinda content if we had to rely on main stream media like the now defunct Travel Channel. In the old days Kara & Nate would not even get a look in from these huge bland boring corporations. Thank you both for your new fresh perspective 🙏🏾
My husband needed an interview appointment for his global entry renewal. In Phoenix an appointment wasn't available for over two months. However, I received an email explaining anyone could get it done when arriving from an international flight. When we arrived from London, we explained what we wanted and were told where to wait. It was done before our luggage was even out.
So happy to be subscriber 9,000 (or so). This is very useful information, and it's so great to get Kara and Nate bonus content! Those seats were enormous and awesome, though they probably could stand to be a bit thicker and cushion-ier 😊
I just love Kara giving us the “ tour “ of those spacious seats, all the amenities and she woke up before Nate and already had a coffee! Glad you made it safely back and got more Ramen on that cool flight❤❤❤ and Nate got some sleep. Japan rocks
Hope to see more UK and Europe targeted content like this in the future as Daily Drop expands as a business for you guys! I don't feel comfortable if someone says it's all the same anyway, the relatability and tailored nature of the content is important. :) Also I'm fairly sure the culture of using a credit card for daily spend just isn't a thing as much in the UK. For us, debit cards are for the day to day. Credit cards are for emergencies or for spreading the cost of expensive purchases, so miles and points feel less relevant to me to begin with. But that's exactly why I'd like to see the tailored content.. to convert me!
What remains a mystery to me is what sort of spending one would be doing on an average month to accumulate (let’s say) 150k CC points outside of sign-up bonuses. I’ve gotten a few of the popular CCs (and mostly spent the points on economy flights that are often 90k plus miles), but now what? Just keep signing up for new cards for the points bonus? I also can’t ignore the fact that I’m paying a ton of yearly fees that might actually outweigh the value of the CC perks, past the first year.
Referral bonuses are huge for kara and nate I'm sure and having more than one person getting the cards (such as a husband and a wife). You also get extra points if you use your card on travel expenses. Business cards are big in travel hack groups I'm in as well. They tend to have larger bonuses.
You do have to spend a lot to be able to get that many points. If you are able to, the strategy is to put as many expenses on your credit card that you can pay off at the end of the month without taking interest. To earn 150k points would require a minimum of $30K of spend (if you spend that much on flights on your Amex platinum since it has 5x miles on airfare - it will require more $ if you spend in other categories). As others have said, Business Credit cards offer the same rewards structure if not better, and if you put your business spending on them, you can accrue a lot of miles. They are definetly worth it if you are a small Business owner. And if you have a Significant Other, you both can get the credit cards with sign up bonuses, and maybe cancel one card after a few months, so you can get double the bonuses. These points are meant to be earned on spending you would be doing anyway, so that is how you get value out of them. For people with lower income jobs, it will take a few years to get to 150K points. But 150K points is a lot. You can book 2 one-way Business Class tickets with that on Qatar Airways Qsuite from North America to the Middle East/Indian subcontinent (known as the world's best business class). Or even 4 one-way Economy tickets on the same routes. Also, why are you spending 90K+ points for Economy flights? It normally isn't worth it if the points cost is that high. For flights to anywhere in the world, you shouldn't be spending more than 40-45K miles one-way for an Economy redemption. You can often find flights from the U.S. to Europe for under 35K points, to the Middle East/Indian Subcontinent for 40K, North Asia for 40K, South East Asia for 45K, and Africa for 45K (and ofcourse prices vary across different programs). Be careful, some loyalty programs no longer have fixed redemption prices, so sometimes they have prices as high as 300K miles for a one way flight for Economy. This is true with Delta, and sometimes with American. Airline miles should not always be used, they should only be used if the redemption gives you a high valuation. Otherwise, it sometimes makes more sense to spend cash, and earn miles on that flight as well.
Amex Platinum, 150K points SUB, $6K minimum spend over 6 months ($1K/month). Signing up when large expenses are due (like income and property taxes) is the best way to meet the minimum spend. Plus 100K points potential referral bonus each year (30K each for the first 3 referrals). Was able to book Emirates first class for 189K points. Those first class seats are valued at $15K each. As for the $695 annual fee? $200 annual Uber credit, $200 hotel credit plus $100 F&B credit and free breakfast daily for two with Fine Hotels and Resorts booking (think Bellagio, Aria, Venetian, or Waldorf Astoria in Vegas), $100 Global Entry application credit, Centurion and Priority Pass Lounge access, $240 digital entertainment credits with HULU and Disney, travel insurance, and more. In addition you get $200 airline credit, Gold status with Marriott and Hilton, as well as top tier status with Hertz and Avis just for having the card. That means free upgrades whenever available. The value of perks more than triple the cost of annual fee. If you’re booking economy flights for 90K points, you’re doing it wrong! Here’s a kick: Look up Barclays AA Aviator Mastercard. 60K AA points. Minimum spend? You just have to use the card on anything within the first 90 days. I literally bought a pack of gum and received the 60K points within 2 weeks. I used 40K of that to book a flight in May for 2 from Toronto to Burbank and saved us nearly $700 of out of pocket cost. The card comes with free first checked bag for you and up to four companions on the same booking plus priority boarding. Annual fee? Waived on the first year and $95 thereafter. You don’t have to keep the card after the first year if you don’t want to. The free checked bags and priority boarding more than offsets the annual fee.
@@jpbccrn And now that you’ve blown the SUB for the Platinum card (on what I’m sure was an enjoyable flight), what kind of monthly spending do you do to (1) justify the $700 yearly fee and (2) meet spending requirements for the SUB for new cards you might want? This is the part I get stuck on. Big SUBs are nice and the points can get you some nice things, but there is a finite amount of cards you’d actually get approved for and for which the points outweigh the cumulative annual fees of all the cards you end up holding. After the standard few cards (an Amex, a Chase, a Capital One, and maybe a Citi), do you just wait until you can start picking up duplicates with worse SUBs?
Yayyy! I've been watching your videos for years and I'm so excited for the additional information about how I can hopefully travel like you guys do. You guys have been such an inspiration to me, but I've never felt like traveling like you do is a possibility for me, so I'm so excited to find ways that can hopefully make it possible for me and my partner. So so excited for this channel!
Great idea you guys! Wish I was in the US to use the tips though 😢 But that’s okay, I’ve learned a lot about miles here in Brazil in the last few years mainly because of videos like yours and I would like to say to all viewers that it is life changing. I was able to fly biz for the first time because of it paying even less then an economy ticket! So I hope everyone enjoys the tips and I wish the best of luck to you Kara and Nate! Love the channels!
Love that you have another channel and that you so clearly explained how you got these seats! The points game is super confusing to me but you just made something make sense. Thanks for trying to help us to get the best seats possible!
I also had global entry and it expired last year I reapplied online and got approved and told to schedule an interview. I also couldn’t find one because it was so booked out but you are actually able to do your interview at the airport when returning to the country at certain airports (you can find the list online). So I skipped the big line to go straight to a shorter line to do the interview and get approved right there. My new card was then mailed to me and the whole process took like 20 minutes! Maybe look into doing that the next time you return to the US rather than wait for an interview!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR FINALLY DOING THIS!!! We’re so excited about this new channel!! We will be traveling often and watching closely. We’ve been watching your videos for years and we couldn’t be more excited about this new channel. We appreciate and adore you guys so much!!!! Yay! 🎉 Great move. You guys are awesome… ❤❤❤
I always here about your Daily Drop didn't know there was a channel. Been following yall since 2017 keep up the good work and content much love from Indiana!!!!!
Kara and Nate, I loved this!! Well done🙂 I am not a traveler but I really enjoyed hearing more of the background of how you do what you do😆 And that plane seat was so freakin’ cool! Excited for this channel!! Stay you✌🏼
This is a great channel. I don't always have time to read the newsletter so this is helpful even if I just listen to it while doing something else. Oh, and I've been wanting to go to Japan ever send I was a kid. I'm hoping to go someday.
fantastic video and I'm loving being part of the daily drop community. Also MPC is a life safer especially if you're flying from Canada to US. So many people don't realize they go through customs prior to leaving Canada and the lines are frantic. I downloaded it ON the line in Montreal and jumped off to get through significantly faster. (big win)
Subscribed because Nate told me too! Sending you love Kara & Nate, all the way from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🙏. And definitely looking forward for this new channel! Good luck
Looking forward to this! One of my daughters is a missionary in a foreign country and excited about the possibility of utilizing this info in the future! Yall are amazing!
One of our favorite travel credit cards just increased it's sign-up bonus to 80,000 points. So just by signing up for this card and meeting the minimum spend you could earn enough points to fly in ANA business class! Click the link to learn more - s.dailydrop.com/ytd_csp-deep-dive
i have been watching yall for the past few years now and it is awesome to see where yall are headed. i love yall content and look forward to it every week. best of luck and wishes😀😀❤❤
Came over after your #5 episode, thumbs up, subscribed and yes I hit that bell! Love the travel (says a former Travel Advisor of the no longer existing Vacation Store @ Travel Channel mid 90's) with you two!
I am incredibly impressed with Nate’s @NateBuchanan comfort in front of the camera. From the early days when he was afraid of public speaking to his current, amazing, professor-like instruction voice it’s a wonderful transformation. We are all bettered by your sharing this information with us. ❤❤❤
Nate, you should use "Interview on Arrival" to renew your Global Entry. You don't have to make an appointment. My wife and I just did this flying back into the country and the entire interview process took 15 minutes. You might already know this because you travel way more than us, but thought I'd share anyway
So excited to see this channel grow! I've followed you all since the first japan video (and also from Tennessee!). I'm so glad to see you all grow so large!!! My husband and I have started traveling for his job so I'm hoping to use some deals for us on this new adventure!
I popped over from the regular channel even though there’s no way I could travel the way they (you?) do. I have to let the miles/points stuff sink right out. It’s fun to see your enthusiasm though!
I subscribed and am happy to be here. Your travel life seems like a fairytale to me. I dream of travel and I live vicariously through your page's. Thanks for taking me along with you. ❤
Always happy to have more K&N! ❤ I’m a points beginner…and what you said in the video made perfect sense. But would it be possible to do a video or some content about how you actually accrue the points? I know each card differs, but any tips on how to spend / where to spend, or how to make the most of having a travel credit card? E.g, do you buy literally everything on your credit cards? Like groceries? Fuel? Household bills? Business expenses? Other stuff? I get how the points work, but I feel like I don’t fully get how to rack up all these 100’s of 1000’s of points. Thanks guys! 😊
ANA award space availability for premium cabin has been pretty paltry. But strategically booking for flights 300 days in advance increases your chances of getting one. Right now and through the next 10 months, J and F classes are all “waitlists.”
If you didn’t know, you can get global entry and do the interview anytime you’re coming in from an international flight at an airport that offers GE. You don’t have to wait to schedule an appointment if you’re coming in from an international flight. You can stop in their office or kiosk, and do the interview while going through customs.
I just joined Global Entry! You don't need an appointment, you can now complete your interview once you have an accepted application on your next return trip to the US when you go through passport control. Just ask an agent and they will guide you to an officer to conduct the interview!
Love ❤️ that you both are willing to share your travel hacks with us! You guys are a true inspiration to both my husband and myself and we tell everyone we meet !! Can’t wait to see more Kara and Nate!!
I am already a subscriber to the Daily Drop and I currently have the Venture X, Chase Sapphire, and recently the Southwest VISA cards. I did use the Daily Drop to also link to these cards, You're Welcome. My daughter likes to travel with me, nothing international yet she's a college student. Really have enjoyed your Japan series 🎎
This is so helpful! I’ve subscribed and I’m a member of Fare Drop! Could you do an episode dedicated to Canadian travel credit cards and Canadian airline travel hacks? Thanks!
Here I am, even though I don't do much traveling from our home in AK! We just returned from a trip to the Midwest; how I wish we could have used some of the wonderful travel hacks you guys share! There were some parts of our trip that were definitely awful... no cat poop involved, but certainly rentals and bookings that were total fails!
I may never use the travel hacks, but I’m not gonna turn down a second video from Kara and Nate!! ❤❤
Same 😊
Agreed
This 💯
I agree!
Same here
Nate asked me to subscribed I subscribed ❤
Same
Me too
Yessum!
Yeah, me too😂

Also LONG time K and N viewers here. You guys inspired us to get out and travel more. Been watching since 2019 cheers.
Love love LOVE the expansion of explanation for this video with the same Kara & Nate style blog. Love y’all!!! I subscribed so fast.
So glad to hear you are enjoying our new video content!
Agreed!!!
Love this idea of the new channel! ❤❤❤ More Kara and Nate can never be a bad thing. 🎉 Love the newsletter, and the FB group!
So glad to hear you are enjoying the newsletter and that you are a member of the Daily Drop Facebook Lounge! 😃 Thanks for watching!
I live vicariously through the two of you and it is a hoot! You put the other youtubers to shame.....not that shame is needed! Loved the video. Keep on rocking you two!

I love that we get two Kara and Nate channels now!!! Been following your journey for years! Keep going guys!
You two are GEMS for this! Excited about this new channel
Blows my mind that we would not experience this kinda content if we had to rely on main stream media like the now defunct Travel Channel.
In the old days Kara & Nate would not even get a look in from these huge bland boring corporations. Thank you both for your new fresh perspective 🙏🏾
Nate asked .. so I listened lol .. love this channel.. great idea guys
I’m so excited for this channel. Love the newsletter but this is even better.
Keep these videos coming. My wife and I are following your footsteps and this is super helpful! :)
oh my gosh, more Kara and Nate content!!! Of course I´m subscribing!!!!
Thank you so much for creating this channel. I adore you guys, and DD is brilliant.
So glad to hear you are enjoying Daily Drop! 😃
Been watching y’all for years. So excited were how much y’all have grown. I really can’t travel so I travel through y’all. Love y’all

Travel hacks, cards and points for Europe please 😍 love the videos!

Woohoo the first video on the new channel!!! 🎉 Congrats on the new channel. Thanks for sharing your travel tips. Those seats looked so comfy!
Double upload!!!! Yaaaaaaaasssssssssssss

Rakuten and AMEX is a deadly combo. I earned 7500 points on a $97 purchase a few weeks ago.

Happy to subscribe! I'm more likely to watch your videos vs. reading the newsletters (I get them, but they pile up 😊). Congrats on the new channel!

Yay! 🎉
Ive been with this broad for 13 minutes and I already want to turn off the lights. Good on you brother, you must go through alot.
last week's episode with the cats was one of my favorite!!!!
Since I began watching you two , your adventures have gone from potential to 'dream bucket list ' ♥ Still thoroughly enjoy your channels.
Great new channell. Well done! Blessings to you both.
Came over after your #5 episode, thumbs up, subscribed and yes I hit that bell! Love the travel (says a former Travel Advisor of the no longer existing Vacation Store @ Travel Channel mid 90's) with you two!
To all my real gees who watched the entire main channel video and subscribed... Hats off to you!
Part of the first 10k I am excited to see more about miles and points, thanks for sharing your knowledge!
This is going to be epic because there's not many videos with this content. I'm excited for you guys and can't wait for the nerdy content!
she dose sound a little spoiled , no pajamas bumber 💚💚💚 Thank You for sharing 😊
I am incredibly impressed with Nate’s @NateBuchanan comfort in front of the camera. From the early days when he was afraid of public speaking to his current, amazing, professor-like instruction voice it’s a wonderful transformation. We are all bettered by your sharing this information with us. ❤❤❤
Nate, you should use "Interview on Arrival" to renew your Global Entry. You don't have to make an appointment. My wife and I just did this flying back into the country and the entire interview process took 15 minutes. You might already know this because you travel way more than us, but thought I'd share anyway
Your research and information is much appreciated. Thanks for sharing and as always stay safe, safe travels, and God bless love ya Nancy
Love the new channel and I am so excited to start traveling again
Happy to be here!!!❤
You have a new subscriber❤❤❤❤❤ Love you guys safe travels can't wait for the next video
So excited to see this channel grow! I've followed you all since the first japan video (and also from Tennessee!). I'm so glad to see you all grow so large!!! My husband and I have started traveling for his job so I'm hoping to use some deals for us on this new adventure!
There's MPC in place at Montreal airport but it doesn't make any difference. You still have to wait the same time for customs.
Love that you are sharing tips for us Canadians! ❤
I popped over from the regular channel even though there’s no way I could travel the way they (you?) do. I have to let the miles/points stuff sink right out. It’s fun to see your enthusiasm though!
You asked so nicely I had to subscribe. My advice to you both is PLEASE DON’T ADOPT ANY KITTIES!
I subscribed and am happy to be here. Your travel life seems like a fairytale to me.
I dream of travel and I live vicariously through your page's. Thanks for taking me along with you. ❤
Yay for bonus K&N travel content! I got the Southwest card, almost have my companion pas!
Always happy to have more K&N! ❤
I’m a points beginner…and what you said in the video made perfect sense.
amazing idea, love this! will there be tips for those outside of the US?
Yes, but it'll be much harder to earn points. US lives on credit card debt, so that's why credit card companies offer so many points.
You can stop in their office or kiosk, and do the interview while going through customs.
you both are killing it! love the content.
Subscribed Nate ❤️ Can’t get over the size of those seats huge 😊
I just joined Global Entry! You don't need an appointment, you can now complete your interview once you have an accepted application on your next return trip to the US when you go through passport control. Just ask an agent and they will guide you to an officer to conduct the interview!
Love ❤️ that you both are willing to share your travel hacks with us! You guys are a true inspiration to both my husband and myself and we tell everyone we meet !! Can’t wait to see more Kara and Nate!!
Good luck on your new channel 🎉❤
I am already a subscriber to the Daily Drop and I currently have the Venture X, Chase Sapphire, and recently the Southwest VISA cards. I did use the Daily Drop to also link to these cards, You're Welcome. My daughter likes to travel with me, nothing international yet she's a college student. Really have enjoyed your Japan series 🎎
This is awesome. I'm hooked! Thanks for sharing.
This is so helpful! I’ve subscribed and I’m a member of Fare Drop! Could you do an episode dedicated to Canadian travel credit cards and Canadian airline travel hacks? Thanks!
Loved the vlog and the tips, thank you!
