Outstanding video. Nice new longer format. Kevin's little electrical event reminded me of the time I was cutting into a wall with a reciprocating saw. I was sure and I knew for certain there was no wire inside the wall until I cut through it. The worst part was repairing the wire. Thanks again for the video. God bless you and your family.
Thank God no body got hurt with the electricity deal!!! I love watching your videos Rhonda!!! Really enjoyed the road trip too !!! Please be careful, family!!! God bless you all!!! Merry CHRISTmas!!!!! Eddy
Most US Utility Companies have 3rd Party Contractors that Marks ALL Utilities on “Private Property” to keep Homeowners from causing Major Outages/Explosions.
Rural King rocks! I wish they would put one in Kalamazoo. It would be a great location. I'll go to the one in Niles when I work at my mom's house. I grew up in Niles and the Rural King used to be a K-Mart.
I got gas today for 246 a gallon very impressing for here I live in portales new Mexico right by Texas and it's always cheaper over there y'all enjoy your day be safe
Years ago I was folding our 12 row vertical fold planter, and I accidentally hit the hyd. lever for the marker to my left and didn't notice.I drove down the road for a mile with the marker sticking straight up about 24 feet. I made a left turn at the first intersection and felt the tractor try to go sideways and looked back to see electric cable hanging on the planter. Fortunately it didn't catch the top wire of the two so nothing serious happened except some damage to one planter unit. A couple days earlier we were talking about someone we knew who had done the same thing, then I went did it. Safety third.
Wishing you the merriest of Christmas' now as I'll be spending about 15 hours on the road next Sunday. This weekend is all about tea and honey and lots of naps since I came down with a cold in the last couple of days. Great looking shop, now it'll be so much easier if Kevin needs to take a cap off a tractor again. Stay safe and keep warm.
If you are ever around Mattoon Illinois, that’s where the first Rural King store started. The new store is huge and it’s also a distribution center. It’s the nicest Rural King I have been in. The one in Terre Haute Indiana is nice. The one in Paris Illinois is too but it’s a smaller store.
I'd think that trip was fun, aside from the snowy weather and road delays. Rural King has a couple of stores about the same distance from my house as yours is, nice store too. Enjoyed watching, thanks for the shop update, sorry to hear about the electric line incident, just glad everything and all were okay. I hope you have a good week and if you don't have another video, Merry Christmas!
I think the news said Michigan just received quite a bit of snow. Yeah,.....Farm & Fleet and Tractor Supply stores were my favorite stores to visit as a kid, and also into my adult years. IL had some Rural King stores, but nothing close enough to us to warrant a trip. Highlights magazine was one of my favorite magazines as a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's. Then, when I had my own kids, we had a subscription for them.
I was kind of surprised when you said "DigSafe" doesn't mark out private property. I'm old now so haven't used them for maybe 10 years ?, but here in N.H. and Ma. they would use little flags and marking paint right up to the building. Yellow for gas, blue for water, and red for electric. And it was "required" that you notify them 72 hrs. in advance of doing any excavation. There was no charge for it because I think either the insurance companies or govt. or both maybe, pay for it. Ok, till next time. And by the way--your eyes are awesome !
it's a horse of course in shipshewana. I love the wood jokes. winter driving is not my favorite thing to do, although I drove a snow plow for my city for about 25 years. mostly lots of fun but a few hair raising times too. a few times I was sitting behind the wheel but the plow was going where it was going without me having any control. went down a street sideways a few times and backwards once too with a house behind me. rather disconcerting to say the least. the worst was when I dropped the right front wheel off the asphalt which swung the rear duals off the road also and the left wheels were barely touching the street. I was looking down the hill about 300 feet and probably a vertical drop of 150 feet. I decided I was not going to sit in the cab incase the truck rolled over because it only would have stopped at the bottom and anyones guess about how many times turning over. I retired so now get to watch the fun from inside the house. Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas season and blessings.
Kevin; just a suggestion, when you dig a trench to put various lines in the trench you could make a blueprint of what’s in there and what it is also you could put some yellow caution tape before you backfill one other thing in Massachusetts we call it Dig Safe but you are correct they don’t usually concern themselves with private property unless they are relatively sure there is utilities under their juristriction just thought you might like to know
Just like the old saying goes, " It goes to show there's always something." You think you have it all figured out how it's going to work but it doesn't.
It's scary when you hit a service line and glad no one got hurt. I hit an underground primary years ago. It melted the bucket off the machine. I'm getting the weather you had. The other day we had a front come in that produced 60 mph winds and dropped 4 inches of rain. When the front went through the temperture went from 54 to 32 in under an hour.
Very good video as usual. Nice road trip safe driving always. Looks like the shop Coming along. Finished up on a Christmas at good old Rural King . Your friend in Virginia😮😮❤
Hunting and foraging trip into the wilds with free popcorn. While digging, you usually hit a caution tape to let you know something's under there. That where you stop digging and probe for gas or electric line. Thank goodness no one was eletricuted. Happy Holidays to family and good bye to 2024.
I'm a huge fan of Rural King as you mentioned it's a Tractor Supply on steroids and a lot more and the prices are actually reasonable or lower than big box stores
About 6 weeks ago i was watching you when i got the chills. Covid i think. Turned into pneumonia and blood clots and hospital. Home recovering. I dont think i caught it from you😂
Here in MN your electrician will come out and detect wires on private property. Anything beyond the transformer for the yard is your responsibility to find. "Gopher State One Call"gets wires and gas lines marked anywhere else.
Ronda, I just don’t like your channel I LOVE your channel keep up the great work You are buy as a Honeybee it’s a wonder to me how you can accomplish all your projects in your life Love the Jacket and even though you said you have long arms and legs it’s more of you to love from Kevin ❤😊

Thank God no body got hurt with the electricity deal!!! I love watching your videos Rhonda!!! Really enjoyed the road trip too !!! Please be careful, family!!! God bless you all!!! Merry CHRISTmas!!!!! Eddy
Road tripping & antiquing is fun. Shop is looking good. Im guessing the room will eventually get painted.
Glad no one got shocked
That could be dangerous as well as scary. Michigan gets snow and even blizzards just like Canada. Thanks for sharing.

Those sound like some scary moments! We are all thankful for those who work in those blizzard like conditions. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
happy anniversary. how many years ago did toy change kevins life
i would put in surface mounted placards indicating utility and which ones and on the placard the direction of the lines
Great video you all stay warm and sare.😂
👍

In MN they bury a small copper wire alongside those plastic gas lines so they can be found with a wire locator.
Just like the old saying goes, " It goes to show there's always something." You think you have it all figured out how it's going to work but it doesn't.

That's a quick temp drop!!

Highlights for Children magazine was first published in June 1946
🇨🇦 Great video as always! Thanks for taking us on your road trip. Shipshewanna (sp?) brought back great memories. Heather D
Great 👍 videos Ronda , when you truck driving next
It's winter. No trucking.
we have runnings and tractor supply around us plus a few feed mill stores how long has this shop taken so far? the end in site? shes a beaut
In our area, they will come to your property and mark anything where you going to dig at no charge.
😊👍👍👍👍👍
The green stamps are Christmas colors
About 6 weeks ago i was watching you when i got the chills. Covid i think. Turned into pneumonia and blood clots and hospital. Home recovering. I dont think i caught it from you😂
I remember you saying that! Prayers for quick healing!!
The last part of the video when they're working on the door cylinders reminds me that God made men to do things and to figure things out like that.
Ronda, I am assuming Rural King is similar to Tractor Supply but on a larger scale
I have hit electric lines in the ground digging for water lines. It's no big deal. It's just a lot of extra work it didn't expect.
bravi e beautiful kiss kiss hello
In Kansas it’s called dig safe. Anytime you get ready to put anything in the ground. If we do not call dig safe we are responsible for any damages.
Use your chopper to blow the insulation into the shop ceiling. 😂 JK
Things always get serious when th sparks fly.
Do you get lake affect snow like we do here in NY?
Yes, we do.
Just there last night
❤
Definitely a tourist trap . Buy high temp cheese too make Cheeder summer sausage what have you
You In my hometown places.rentown Nappanee Bremen

Highlights were founded in June 1946
Thanks Ronda i was really looking forward to seeing the flea market wky couldn't you have walked back in and made a sm flim very disapointed????
We have diggers hot line. They come out and mark it. To show where the gas. N electrical lines are
Hope everyone is OK not fun when you go through a power cable or water pipe.
kevin teresa let you go thru the john deere lot lol.
I thought it was against building code to run wires behind steel covered walls and conduit outside of the steel was needed
Is Kevin sure NO DIG won’t come on private property? The reason I ask is here in Missouri we have DIG RIGHT and they will/do come on private property.
Here in MN your electrician will come out and detect wires on private property. Anything beyond the transformer for the yard is your responsibility to find. "Gopher State One Call"gets wires and gas lines marked anywhere else.
Hij ronda eerste groetjes Jan nog een fijne zondag 👍🇧🇪
Rhonda - kevin high life magazine was in the doctor's office when I was a boy. I'm old enough to be your dad.
Rhonda said she would not have hit that electric line if she was digging. Lol

Let me guess Kevin thought he could do that too without anybody or any professional help! Like I said, you can’t fix stupid!
Your parents have failed to raise you properly.
You have a beautiful winter.
And this surprise happened during earthworks.
